“You’re really cold, ya know?” Naruto pointed out, frowning at the redhead sitting across from him. Gaara smirked, sipping his coffee and glancing around the 24-hour coffee shop. It was sad that they didn’t have them in Suna, he’d be a frequent customer.

“And not even a response.” The blond pouted, taking a gulp of his own coffee and spluttering as the scalding liquid met his tongue. “Fuck!”

Gaara snorted, hiding his smile as he bit into his donut. Why the blond had him go to the restaurant at two in the morning he didn’t know, but it was enjoyable. Far more entertaining than staying in his room and staring at the ceiling.

“We should go to Ichiraku’s tomorrow.” Naruto mumbled, sipping cautiously at his coffee.

Gaara rose an invisible eyebrow, tilting his head. “Ichiraku’s?”

“This badass ramen place downtown.”

“Ramen?” Gaara scrunched his nose, the image of Maruchan instant ramen coming to his head.

“You don’t like ramen?” Naruto question, his entire face morphing into a childlike pout. Gaara blinked in surprise at the face, noticing tears in the corner of the blond’s eyes. Does he really like ramen that much?

“I’ve only had instant ramen.” Gaara admitted, getting a scandalized gasp from the blond.

“I won’t stand for this. We’re going there after school tomorrow.”

The redhead stared at the boy across from him silently, internally amused. “Alright.”

“Don’t laugh, I’m serious!”

“Wasn’t laughing.”

“Got you to speak though.”

Gaara tilted his head, his lips twitching into a faint smirk. “I suppose. So, how’s you and Sasuke?”

“He doesn’t like me, dammit.” Naruto growled, eliciting a snort from the redhead.

“Sure. Should I start recording how he looks at you when you’re not paying attention?”

“If you can.”

A wicked smirk spread across Gaara’s face, instantly making Naruto wary. It had been a week since Gaara had switched into his sixth period, and this was one of the few times such a blatant expression had been revealed to him.

“I can do that.”

“Aw shit…”
