I'm Here Now (Civilian Reader x Akame)

A request from Angrymarine02. I'll be working on the other request, the first one I got, but that'll be a bit longer as I'm trying to figure out on how I'll build it off.

This one was a bit simpler as the requester had given me a general plot line or idea to build off of. In the original idea, the reader was to have catatonic shock, but that'd be a lack of communication. You'll see what I did if you all keep reading. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy.

The Imperial Capital, home to many. Thousands of people live in this walled city, a castle in the middle as it stands high above the many buildings. This Empire had been around for such a long time, that over time, a corrupt ruler had risen.

Prime Minister Honest ruled from the shadows of the Empire, controlling the emperor child. But, there was a group that stood up against the regime of the Empire, the Revolutionary Army. This group was unhappy with how the country was being ruled, so they sought to change it. But, they couldn't change it by themselves.

That's why they had a splinter group of assassins known as, Night Raid. Night Raid housed a good amount of members, some of them were former assassins or soldiers of the Empire. One of them was a former assassin, Akame.

Currently, the red-eyed girl was hiding a nearby alleyway, clutching her arm as she eyes a building in front of her. A small blush was on her face as she continues to eye it, her looking out of the alleyway to see if there was anyone nearby in the darkness of the night. Seeing as there wasn't any, she quickly took off and arrived at the front door, eagerly knocking on it. Movement could be heard inside, the door's lock turning as it opened, a young man with black hair and blue eyes. This is Y/N, the owner of a small bakery.

Y/N: Akame? What are you--mmph!?

The red-eyed girl of Night Raid had lunged forward, pressing her lips up against the young man's own lips. Y/N rolls his eyes as he leans into the kiss, bringing his arms around the girl's waist. The two release, Y/N seeing the huge red blush on Akame's face.

Akame: I-I'm sorry. I-I just had to see you. You know, since I haven't seen you in a while as I've been busy.

Y/N: No, no, it's okay. I know how important your work is. Come inside, we'll talk there.

Akame nods with a smile as Y/N steps to the side, gesturing for her to come in. She steps inside and Y/N closes the door.

This little relationship between the two had been going on for quite a while. On one of Akame's jobs, she had a slight injury, which was a cut on her arm. She was hiding from the Empire in the city when she had suddenly came across the young man. She was prepared to kill him, but Y/N had offered her to take him back to his home and hide her there for the time being.

Akame had found it odd at first, but she needed things to die down before she could move. So she accepted. Y/N treated her small cut, but Akame said it was fine that she could've done it herself. But Y/N ended up doing it anyway. But Akame couldn't help but wonder. Why was a person like Y/N helping an assassin of Night Raid, knowing what she did? And so she asked that question. She was surprised to hear that Y/N too didn't like the way the country was, in fact, he supported the cause of the Revolutionary Army. He did this by sending in rations and food to the army themselves, as he did run a well-known bakery. After treating her wounds, Akame would thank Y/N, but he had said no thanks needed and was just glad to help. But Akame wanted a way to make it up to him.

And so, a form of a relationship started. Akame would drop by and collect food for her teammates with Y/N giving different pastries, bread, and other delicacies from his shop. I wouldn't be long till had confessed to the boy, Y/N reciprocating the same feelings as her. So, the relationship had grown, the two now an item. So not only would Akame drop by at night for collecting food, she'd also drop by just to spend time with him. And this sort of relationship had been going on for quite some time. In fact, some of her teammates knew of this relationship they had. Currently, Akame stood outside Y/N's home.

Akame: Sorry if I must depart early.

Y/N: Nah, it's okay. I've got to have a early start tomorrow so I can open up the bakery. That, and I still have to prepare for the next shipment for the Revolutionary Army that'll I make for tomorrow night.

Akame: Do you need me to come with you? I can--

Y/N: (chuckle) It's okay. But thank you for worry about me. Don't worry. The Empire won't attack little ole' me. I'm just a simple baker.

Akame: But if they find out--

Y/N: Hey...it's okay. Don't worry, but you'll need to worry about yourself. I honestly don't know what I'll do if I found out you lost your life on one of your missions.

Akame: Y/N...

Y/N: Promise to come back safely to me, okay? Because once all this is over, I'd like to live away from here. Travel to a new place or maybe have a house in the woods so we can live peacefully together.

Akame: I'd like that. I promise, Y/N. I love you.

Y/N: I love you, too.

The two met for a sweet kiss, Akame releasing it as she is grabbing a basket at her side that was filled with bread and pastries. She soon departs, sending a wave Y/N's way as he waves back, closing the door behind him. But unknown to the two, a corrupt noble had saw them at the wrong time.

Next Day

It was about the mid-morning, around 10AM or 11AM, and one of Akame's teammates, Leone, was walking in the Capital. She hummed to herself, looking for more country boys to scam, like their recruit Tatsumi when they found him months earlier.

It wasn't until something caught her eye. She saw a crowd in front of a bakery. In fact, she knew this bakery. It was the same one Y/N ran. Curious, she walked up to the crowd to see what was going on. Leone's eyes widened as she saw the scene. There were small amounts of blood splatters at the front door and the window. The windows were destroyed and parts of the bakery themselves were destroyed. She then heard an interesting conversation.

Civilian 1: What happened here?

Civilian 2: Apparently some troops had dragged the young owner out of his store for assisting the Revolutionary Army.

Civilian 1: But why young Y/N?

Civilian 2: I don't know. But we always told that boy to shut up about it. Thankfully he did. But a noble had started proclaiming how he saw him with one of the girl's on the poster. Akame, I think her name?

Timeskip

In Night Raid's base, most of the members were at the table. Those being Tatsumi, Lubbock, Mine, Najenda, and Chelsea. Akame and Susanoo were in the kitchen preparing the group's lunch.

Akame worked away with a smile on her face, the raven-haired girl eager to see her boyfriend later tonight once he returned from delivering his shipment. As she entered the dining room, she noticed how quiet it had gotten, a few people dawning sad looks. Well, except Tatsumi, Chelsea, and Susanoo.

Akame: Wh-What's going on?

Leone: ...Before you overreact and check, just let me finish okay?

Akame: Just tell me what's going on.

Leone: ...Y/N's dead.

Akame: ...What?

Tatsumi: Y/N? Who's that guy?

Akame: N-No, no...y-you're lying to me. Th-They'd never--

Leone: I passed by his shop today. It was in ruins.

Akame: No...no...no! You're lying to me!

Leone: Let me--

But Akame didn't wait for Leone to finish. She dropped what she was holding, Susanoo putting the plate of food he had on the table and catching Akame's. The red-eyed girl didn't want to believe what her best friend was saying.

She had quickly grabbed a cloak, since she was well-known in the Capital's walls, so she couldn't be spotted. She crossed the walls, hopping from rooftop to rooftop, carefully avoiding people so she didn't get spotted. It wasn't until she arrived at her destination. Y/N's shop was now boarded up, a few soldiers of the Empire cleaning up the mess. Akame couldn't believe her eyes. The red-eyed girl dropped to her knees, tears streaming out of her eyes. Yet again, she lost another person she cared deeply for.

The months would soon pass and the Revolutionary Army was successful in taking control of the Capital. Prime Minister Honest was dead by Leone, Akame's best friend had also passed as well. Akame herself had also defeated Esdeath, but at the cost of using her trump card and casting aside her humanity in favor of becoming a demon. The faint red marks that look liked tattoos were proof of that.

Currently, the raven-haired girl was walking through the streets. People were still fixing the debris and Revolutionary Army soldiers were still heading down to the prison, getting any falsely accused prisoners out from there. And this time, Akame was going herself. She still had a small amount of hope that Y/N was quite possibly there, but she had low expectations. She saw his shop with her own eyes, the blood splatters that were on the windows and that sat in front of his shop. It broke her heart, dearly.

Heading down the steps of the prison, she began to carefully scan each cell. And yet, she still couldn't find him. She looked down saddened, but noticed one of the cells she had checked. It was a black haired young man, his hair having grown long. The man was currently huddled in a corner, quivering severely.

Akame: H-Hey...are you okay...?

The young man weakly looked up, Akame's eyes widening. She recognized those blue eyes anywhere, but she could see that they lost their previous shine that she knew and loved. As soon as they made eye contact, the young man immediately brought his head down, thinking Akame was another torturer and ready to do another session on him.

Akame: Y-Y/N?

But the boy made no response. Akame enters the cell, heading over to him and crouching down, setting her katana by her side as her previous weapon, Murasame, had been shattered after her fight with Esdeath. Akame's hand then touches the boy, Y/N jumping slightly as he tries to back up.

Akame looks at him with worry, wondering what sort of horrors they had done to him. He had cuts, bruises, and some of his nails ripped off as evident with some of the old nails that were lying all over the floor. Akame used both hands to lift his face so they could meet eyes once again. It wasn't until Y/N's blue eyes met Akame's red ones. Now knowing who she was, Y/N struggled to get words out. In fact he tried to get words out, but he couldn't.

The red-eyed girl understood, giving Y/N a small peck on his lips and pulling him in for a hug. Y/N leans his head into her chest, sobbing into it as Akame continued to cradle her lover.

Akame: (whisper) It's okay, Y/N...I'm here now. I'm here. That's all that matters.
