Gene's face became red as he attempted to hide it with his hands. He moaned, as Sasha laughed a bit, "She likes you! And you like her, you just have to tell her!" Zenix smirked eating his tuna sandwich happily. He swallowed hard, and took out the other half. Zenix waved the piece of sandwich in Gene's face, "Want some?" Gene shook his head, "How can I even eat when I feel so nauseous!" Gene let his head fall onto the table, banging his forehead a bit.

  Sasha petted his head lightly, "You just have to tell her. Ask her on a date or something." Gene moaned, and mumbled out a no and something else that no one could understand. "What was that?" Zenix said through a mouth full of food. Gene lifted up his head, his face no longer red. "I won't say I'm in love," Gene said. "In love with what kitty?" Gene jumped out of his skin, as he quickly turned around to find Shelby standing right there with a brow raised.

  Her black tail was still, with her ears twitching a bit. She wore a boy uniform, opened and un-buttoned at the top. Her hair was short, a chocolate brown and boy like. Her eyes reminded Gene of the ocean, deep and dark. "You gonna answer my question or just stare?" Shelby asked. Gene shook his head dismissively, "It was nothing!" Sasha smirked, as Zenix tried to hide a smile. Gene's face was brushed over with a light pink blush. Shelby rolled her eyes, then walked past Gene and started off.

  Gene before even thinking twice got up and grabbed her hand. Shelby turned around raising a brow, "What are you doing?" Gene's eyes widened, as his face got red. He took his hand away from Shelby's and rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "I uh, I just wanted to ask you if you wanted to hang out today, my place," Gene said. Shelby shrugged, "I guess so. But your gonna have to walk me after school. Okay Kitty?" Gene nodded quickly, "See you then!"

  Shelby walked off, as Gene turned back around and went back to his table. He sighed, finally getting that off his chest. Sasha and Zenix seemed to be beaming with excitement when he got back. "That's awesome! Now you can really tell her!" Sasha said excitedly. "I told you," Gene started. "I'm not in love with her. I'm just gonna be her friend." Zenix rolled his eyes smiling, "Oh come on! Your in love with her, just admit it!" Gene looked up, seeing Shelby standing with Liberty. He sighed, then looked back down at the table.

  Gene stood by the tree, running through his head what they were gonna do and what he was gonna say. "Okay just don't mess this up Gene, you got this," he mumbled to himself. "Do you always talk to yourself?" Gene suddenly jumped out of his skin again, his heart pounding like a cheetah's speed. Shelby stifled a laugh, standing in front of him, "Jeez Kitty. Since when do you have cat like reflexes?" Gene rolled his eyes slightly.

  "Are you ready to go now?" He said. Shelby nodded, as they began walking down the sidewalk. The whole way, Gene wouldn't speak, his nervousness got the best of him. Why am I so nervous?! Shelby just looked around, finding only normal houses lined in rows and trees plotted randomly. They soon got to the house, where Gene led them inside. Turns out no one was home. They had the house to themselves.

  Gene led them up the stairs to his room, and closed the door behind them as Shelby sat in his desk chair. "Very quaint home you have here," Shelby said. She looked around the room, noticing the various posters and collective objects on the shelves. "Thanks," Gene said quietly after a while. They sat in silence before Shelby got up and leaned over Gene. "Ya know Kitty. You can be a bit fierce and annoying, but you are one adorable kitten," Shelby said. Gene's face heated, as it began to grow red.

  Shelby smirked, as Gene quickly leaned up, and their lips met. Shelby was shocked at first but quickly melted into it. She placed her hand on his cheek, caressing it. They broke leaving a red faced Gene, and a devilish looking Shelby. "I...I like you Shelby, more than a friend," Gene admitted. Shelby smirked, "Of course you do."
