Yamini came to her room and sat on her bed with a sigh. She was feeling extremely bored and did not know what to do.

She took her mobile and started scrolling instagram. A notification popped up from Google photos.

"You have a memory on this day . Tap to open it"

Curiously she opened the photo and was taken back to that day three years ago. It was their college farewell.

Yamini and her friends were looking gorgeous in colourful sarees . Their eyes were glittering with a hint of tears as they are going to be separated after college yet their lips were curved into a smile , making them remember to enjoy the present moment.

In the next picture Yamini was standing next to her friend Pavithra. They both are best buddies in college. Wherever they go, they would be together never letting anyone come in between them.

As time passed they did not get much opportunity to meet each other. Pavithra got settled in Cochin as she got placed there and Yamini was settled in Chennai.

Yamini still remembers how Pavithra would pester her to love someone and get married to them rather than marrying the groom chosen by her parents.

Pavithra was in a relationship since highschool which was known to Yamini also. That's one of the reasons why Pavithra insisted her to fall in love.

But Yamini , being a daddy's girl, made up her mind that she would get married to the guy who her parents selected for her. These two would often have a fight because of this topic.

Yamini felt so funny remembering all these things. Everything replayed in front of her eyes on seeing their picture.

Yamini thinks for a moment and dials Pavithra's number.

Yamini : Hello Pavi?

Pavithra : Hey Yamini! How are you?

Yamini : I'm good di ! How are you?

Pavithra : I'm also fine di. So why did you suddenly call me ? Is everything okay?

Yamini : Everything is fine Pavi.. I was looking at our farewell photos.. it's been so long la since we met and spent time

Pavithra : Yeah di. I'm very busy with my work.. and family pressures too

Yamini : What happened?

Pavithra : My parents are forcing me to get married but he is still not ready.. I'm struck in between them.

Yamini : Achooo

Pavithra : Leave that ! How is your husband? Is everything okay between you guys?

Yamini : Haan.. actually..

While Yamini was busily talking to Pavithra on phone , Rahul barged into the room angrily.

Rahul : What the hell is this Yamini?

Yamini : Rahul?

Rahul : What did I tell you and what you are doing?

Yamini : I'm sorry.. I completely forgot about it, Rahul. I'll finish it now.

Rahul : Do you want me to come behind you everytime and make you remember everything?

Yamini : I don't know how I forgot it, Rahul. I was talking and just like that…

Rahul : This is your last warning Yamini! If you do like this I'll send you to your mother's house .

He shouted at her and left the room. As Rahul came there suddenly, Yamini did not cut the call and as a result everything was heard by Pavithra. Yamini was embarrassed now.

Yamini : Hello Pavi?

Pavithra : What is this Yamini? Your husband is  shouting at you like that?

Yamini : Hey it's not what you think..

Pavithra : Then what Yamini? This is why I told you a thousand times that arranged marriage won't work but you were never ready to listen to me. See now you are suffering.

Yamini: Ayooo Pavithra! You have mistaken..

Pavithra : What?

Yamini : Where are you now? At home or at the office?

Pavithra : I'm at home only why?

Yamini : Just a second! I'll come on video call wait..

Yamini cut the call and then video called her..

Yamini : Can you see me clearly?

Pavithra: Hey you are glowing.. and.. your..

Yamini : Yes pavi.. I'm three months pregnant now !

Pavithra : Congrats di ! Why didn't you tell me earlier?

Yamini : When I was about to tell you, he came here and you cooked up your own story .

Pavithra : Why did he scold you then?

Yamini ; I was actually vomiting since morning.. he took leave and stayed home for me. He gave me lime juice and I totally forgot about it. It was purely my mistake di. He asked me to go to my parents house and take a rest but I told that I'll manage here by myself. That's why he was scolding me and nothing like what you said. We both are very happy now .

Pavithra : Oh okay. I'm sorry di..

Yamini : it's okay di pavi! And not all arranged marriages end up in failures.  Some find their soulmates in arranged marriages only ! Just like us.

Pavithra : I'm so happy for you di. Take care.

Yamini : Thanks di. Bye.

Yamini ended the call and went to the kitchen.

Rahul was cutting the vegetables. Yamini slowly went near him and hugged him from behind, giving him a sweet shock.

He put the knife down and held her hands near his chest.

Rahul : How are you feeling now?

Yamini : I'm completely alright now.

Rahul : You scared me. You have been throwing up since morning.

Yamini : It's common during the first trimester.

Rahul : But mom told me that she didn't have much trouble when she was pregnant..

Yamini : Maybe your princess wants to trouble her mumma from now on.

They both giggled. He slowly turned her towards him and hugged her carefully.

Rahul : I love you Yamini.

Yamini : I love you too Rahul.

He kissed her forehead and they relished the moment !
