It was a long and tough Journey as the group from Mirkwood went to Rivendell to bring Lord Elrond a letter from King Thranduil and a few other errands they had to travel to Ered Luin, Bree and even Gondor but they just came from the forest of Lothlorien and leading the group was their co-captain, Eruanna.

Eruanna was known through out Mirkwood, she is well respected. She always took her Job seriously because to her it wasn't just any job it was her way of showing she will protect her home and she will protect the ones that she love.

Eruanna held a beauty like no other with her long brown hair that came up to her hips but was tied in braids to keep to keep her hair out of her beautiful brown eyes, Eruanna lives alone in one of the cottages in Mirkwood but not far from her was her father who was also a guard but he stayed in the borders of Mirkwood for it was hard for him to move on from the passing of his beautiful wife.

Eruanna's mother died from an Orc attack, Eruanna was very close to her that her mother gave her this,

Ever since then Eruanna build up a wall around her emotions and feelings, she has been protective about anyone in Mirkwood. Especially to a certain someone who tore down those walls, Legolas.

Eruanna has been very good friends with Legolas ever since she was little before her mother died and Legolas learned how she build up those walls. He knows how Eruanna feels for he also lost his mother to the spiders.

They shared the same pain, Eruanna was still only 589 years old still young for an Elf but she was mature, responsible, strong willed and she is a fighter by nature.

For Legolas was already 1367 years old but ever since Eruanna reached the age of 100 she had a small crush on him but as the years passed by she fell in love, but Legolas didn't know and Eruanna wanted it to stay that way for as much as she loves Legolas she didn't want to be distracted from her duty of protecting her home.

It has been two years since she has been home and oh how she missed it especially her Captain, her good friend and her love... Legolas.

The thought of seeing him after 2 years made her stomach do back flips. Legolas was the only person that could make her feel like this. She accepted, for it has been her inspiration to protect her home even more.

Eruanna leading the group of small elves, riding on her White steed that was a gift from Legolas was in front still keeping an eye out for any movement, no matter how stupid the Orcs are they can still be very sneaky.

"Signal them, Ridwan." she commanded one of her warriors, as Ridwan blew the horn to let the gate guards to open their gate. As soon as Eruanna passed the gates she smiled to everyone who greeted her.

"Eruanna!!" Eruanna's father called out for her. "Ada. Nae saian luume' Sut naa lle?" (Father, It has been too long, how are you?) Eruanna asked her father as she dismounted her white steed. "Selde, I am well. Quel esta" (Daughter, Rest well) he said as he did the elven handshake with his daughter.

Eruanna smiled and enter the palace in search for King Thranduil which he was in his study. "My King! We have returned." Eruanna said while bowing down to the King. "Yes! I am happy that you and your group returned safely please rest well." the king replied. "Rest would have to wait your majesty for I still have important things to do." she said and the King smiled and said "He is in his room." Eruanna smiled and went off to the direction of Legolas' room.

Eruanna didn't knock the door and quietly stepped inside and she saw Legolas sleeping peacefully on his bed. Eruanna smirked and then quickly but quietly ran towards the bed and jumped beside him.

"LAS!!" Eruanna screamed through laughs. Eruanna always called Legolas by the three last words of his name, Las.

Legolas' eyes shot up as if a spider just broke into his room and as Eruanna noticed she started giggling but Legolas quickly smiled and pulled Eruanna down making her body next to his and embraced her with all his might.

"Cormamin lindua ele lle Lirimaer" (My heart sings to see thee lovely one) Legolas said covered in Eruanna's brown hair. "Elen sila lumenn omentilmo Las" (A star shall shine on the hour of our meeting Las) Eruanna said as she was also covered in Legolas' Golden Blonde hair.

Even though Legolas would always call Eruanna, Lirimaer (Lovely one) Eruanna was still a dear and special friend of Legolas.

Legolas pulled away and looked into her brown eyes and asked "Lirimaer how do you fair?" "I am well Las, the travel through Middle Earth was breath taking." Eruanna said as she looked up to the ceiling with dreamy eyes and remembered the beautiful sights of Middle Earth.

"I was right, wasn't I?" Legolas asked as he stood up from the bed and pulled Eruanna up. "Ah! Yes you were, but I didn't doubt you for I know you were telling the truth." Eruanna said as she straighten out Legolas' outfit.

"Lirimaer, I have great news!" Legolas said as he pushed aside the dark green curtains and let the room be filled with the bright rays of the sun. "What is it my friend? For I can't wait to learn what you have done over the pass two years when I was gone." Eruanna said as she sat in one of the most fluffiest chair in the kingdom.

Legolas knelled down in front of Eruanna and said "I am getting married."

Eruanna couldn't move, no words came from her mouth. Her heart felt as if it was being stepped on by a thousand of Orcs. "To who?" Eruanna asked softly. "I want you to meet her after you change into a dress." Legolas said as he walked to his closet and started looking for another tunic for him to wear.

"How did you meet her?" Eruanna asked as she stood up trying to fight the tears back, without looking at her Legolas said "A few days after you left, I saw her walking in the palace. She is a guest. She is from Lothlorien and I think you two might get along."

Eruanna couldn't stand the pain, she let a few tears escape her eyes, soon Legolas turned around and caught Eruanna with tears in a blink of an eye Legolas was next to Eruanna, "Eruanna, what is the matter?" he asked worried. "Nothing, I am just happy for you." Eruanna broke out a sob as she threw her arms around Legolas not wanting to let go.

Legolas laughed and said "I am glad that you are happy for me." Eruanna sobbed even more, Yes! She was strong willed but she always had a soft part for Legolas and brought down her walls just for him. She knew this was of her doing if only she let Legolas know of her true feelings he wouldn't have ask another to marry him. This was the consequence of being secretly in love with your best friend and not telling him.

Eruanna tried her best to not cry and succumb to her grief in her bedroom, she slowly got ready to meet Legolas' wife to be. She let her brown hair flow down without any braids and wore a gold and green dress with sleeves longer than her hands.

She put on her circlet that tells everyone that she is the co-captain, 2nd in command of their Captain/Prince Legolas.

She put on her co-captain face and walked to where Legolas said to meet him,

As Eruanna went to the gardens she saw Legolas and said "Where is your wife to be? Did she run off?" Legolas chuckled and said "I'm not that bad to be with and besides you even like to be with me." Eruanna giggled and thought 'Yeah, to be your bride'

"Melamin!" Legolas called out making Eruanna sick that Legolas called another girl Love. Soon she saw a girl with silver blonde hair and grey eyes approaching them, "Melamin, what is it?" she asked, Eruanna felt she was gonna be sick.

"Melamin, I want you to meet Eruanna." Legolas introduced them and as the wife to be looked at Eruanna, Eruanna felt her cold stare as if there was a big sign above her head saying Not Welcome.

"Ah! So this is Lirimaer? Legolas has spoken so much about you." she said politely as she did a small curtsy because she saw the co-captain's circlet on her head, "Really? I am flattered to hear that, I have just learned about you not even hours ago." Eruanna said but then she quickly said "Because I just came from a two year travel around middle earth." to seem more polite.

"Eruanna, this is my bride, Arilaf." Legolas said as he looked lovingly into Arilaf's eyes but in a small distance Eruanna was glaring daggers at her.

Suddenly a warrior came between the three and said "Your highness, your father calls you." Legolas nodded, kissed Arilaf on the head smiled at Eruanna and left. "So I heard you're from Lothlorien?" Eruanna asked as she sat on a stone bench trying to start a conversation. "So you have heard, but you are wrong. Yes! Me and my family were from Lothlorien but since my mother tried to steal Lord Celeborn and she disgraced Lady Galadriel we were thrown out. Having no money or food we went to dwell in a small elvish village in Duillon, Ered Luin." Arilaf said as she looked at her nails.

Eruanna's eyebrows came together and she said "I have just been there, it is beautiful. I love the trees and the waterfa--" but Arilaf cut Eruanna off. "Augh! That stupid waterfall is so boring, the trees are boring. Even the ellons there are small and not charming enough for my beauty. I mean they are even bad at se--" but Eruanna cut her off by raising a hand and saying "Please you don't have to go that far. So I guess you like it here in Mirkwood then, yes! Ered Luin is beautiful but I always thought Mirkwood is the best. It is the Great Greenwood."

"Please... Nature is such a bore but having riches and diamonds make me feel so home." Arilaf said as she made a face of disgust. Eruanna had a bad feeling about Arilaf, she didn't trust her one bit.

"Then may I ask what you are doing here?" Eruanna asked, "My mom couldn't afford anything, So we came here to find refuge." Arilaf said. "Then I guess you fell in love with the Prince because he is so charming and handso--" Eruanna was cut off again by Arilaf "It's true he is quite handsome but he is the Prince of Mirkwood. With riches, diamonds and gems and I have always wanted to be Princess and to be treated one."

Eruanna was furious at the young and slutty elleth in front of her. She wanted to tear her limb by limb. "How could you say such a thing? The Prince has a Kind heart and is a gentleman." Eruanna said trying to hold back her anger. "Yeah, yeah! You two have been very close. It is such a shame that you two didn't hook up. He is the greatest archer in Middle Earth so he might as well be good in--" and then again Eruanna couldn't hold it back.

"How dare such words passes your mouth! You will respect the Prince and his people especially me!" Eruanna hissed but Arilaf went close and said "Oh! You love him don't you? I can see it in your pity eyes! You also have to respect me you ugly Orc! For I am the Princess to be and soon to be Queen of Mirkwood." Eruanna was furious but Arilaf had a point. Eruanna was smart enough not to strangle her even though she felt like killing her.

Arilaf did a victory smile and walked out the gardens as if she was already the Queen. Soon Legolas came back and only saw Eruanna. "Where's Arilaf?" he asked, "She went somewhere, she didn't say, Las! I don't think she is your type, she seems too wild." Eruanna tried convincing her dear friend that everything is a Lie.

"Eruanna, how could you say such a thing about my heart?" he asked as he seemed hurt which made Eruanna flinched. "Sorry las, she went that way." Eruanna said as she pointed to where Arilaf went. Then Legolas left.

It's been months and Legolas spent most of his time with Arilaf. Eruanna was hurt and confused but what she did to take Legolas off her mind was the practice field to practice her archery and swordsmanship even though she was already a master at it.

At times she would ride her horse or take a walk in the forest, the only times she would see Legolas was either strolling the palace with Arilaf or at the King's study with his father.

One day there was a surprise Orc attack. Eruanna quickly ran to the gardens where her captain was, "Legolas!" she called out. Legolas quickly stood up because he knew that when Eruanna called him by 'Legolas' it was important or urgent.

"Yes Eruanna?" he asked as he stood up protectively in front of Arilaf and Eruanna once again felt sick. "There is an Orc Attack! we need you!" Eruanna said and left but before Eruanna was really away she heard Arilaf said "Oh my, I am scared please stay with me."

Eruanna prayed to the Valar that Legolas was in his right mind and help at the borders for the Orcs were too many to fight and they needed the skill of Legolas, their captain there.

As Eruanna was slicing and beheading some Orcs she always thought where is Legolas? he should be here by now. Please don't tell me he is still with Arilaf, Eruanna looked to her side to check if her father was doing okay but as time passed by she heard a small cry and she quickly turned around and saw an Orc arrow pierced through her father's chest.

"ADA!" Eruanna cried out making her way through the group of Orcs slicing her way there before her father could fall she caught him in her arms and tears were already streaming down her face.

"My dearest Eruanna, your beauty shines as bright as your mothers. When I am to leave for the Halls of Mandos. Don't grief brave one. I will join your mother. I love you." Her father said as he touched the ruby pendant of her mother's and took his last breath. Eruanna kissed her father's forehead and continued fighting.

As her heart ached for her father Eruanna felt a shocking pain through her shoulder, she looked on her shoulder and saw an Orc Arrow piercing her shoulder.

Eruanna quickly ignored the pain and pulled out the arrow, soon the battle was over. Many have been wounded but only one has fallen, her father. And still no sign of Legolas.

Eruanna looked over the battlefield with anger and hatred, she was furious with Legolas. Eruanna thought 'How could he choose one elleth over his men who fighting and dying for his palace. especially when they needed him'.

Eruanna was mourning next to her father which he was rested right in front of the entrance towards the palace. Eruanna held his hand but as she heard someone open the palace door she knew who it was, the footsteps were too familiar and those footsteps belong to someone who she wanted to avoid right now.

"What happened? Is anyone hurt?" Legolas asked anyone but the only eyes that met him were the sorrowful and sad eyes of his men and people. "Is anyone hurt?" he asked again. Eruanna was filled with so much anger that she stood up making everyone look at her, but the last eyes to look at her was Legolas'.

"Eruanna? You're injured." Legolas said as he went near filled with so much concern for his friend. Eruanna turned around furiously to meet the deep blue eyes. "Is anyone hurt? well my dear Prince... MY FATHER HAS FALLEN IN YOUR ABSENCE!" Eruanna couldn't hold in the anger, everyone flinched and understood her.

They were also disappointed in the Prince but not as Eruanna was. "You weren't here Legolas! I desperately told you that we needed you." Eruanna hissed. Legolas flinched, shocked by the outburst of Eruanna.

"MANY WERE INJURED! TELL ME IF YOU WERE THERE WOULD MY FATHER DIED?" Eruanna shouted, but was met by no answer. "BUT INSTEAD YOU CHOOSE TO STAY WITH THAT UGLY ORC ARILAF!" then Legolas was shucked by anger "DON'T YOU DARE TALK ABOUT HER THAT WAY!" he shouted back, but it only made Eruanna more angry. "She is only after your title, your crown, your riches! WE NEEDED YOU LEGOLAS! I NEEDED YOU! I NEEDED YOU THESE PASS FEW MONTHS! DON'T YOU SEE LEGOLAS? I LOVED YOU EVER SINCE WE WERE LITTLE! BUT NOW YOU HAVE LOST IT!" Eruanna shouted and left a shocked Legolas behind.

Legolas couldn't believe his own ears. Eruanna loved him? Legolas has loved her since the day he laid eyes on her but he thought Eruanna just wanted to be friends so he left his feelings alone and Eruanna was his first love.

Could he stop this wedding to love Eruanna or would he just make Eruanna a memory?

Few weeks have passed, Eruanna stayed only in her cottage, thinking about her moments with her family. especially Legolas, how they would fight together side by side enjoying of killing Orcs. Sometimes they would have a game on who kills the most. But they would always find fun ways to kill them but now it was just a lost memory floating in Eruanna's sea of tears.

Legolas was to be wed this very day and Eruanna ignored the invitation that slid under her door. She didn't want to see Legolas especially Arilaf.

Legolas was getting ready for his wedding that he was now starting to regret, Arilaf just came to him last night and talked about the future, he thought about traveling together and building their own kingdom but her plan was more.... something Legolas dreaded.

She wanted the gems and diamonds all around Middle Earth and she wanted to redecorate Mirkwood and CUT down trees. He tried backing out and talking with his father but the decision was already made and there was no backing out unless someone objects.

Each day ever since the last time he saw Eruanna his feelings grew more and more for her. He regretted not being there for her like he used to. He felt like he was walking straight into Mordor.

Eruanna was remembering all her moments with Legolas. but a knocking at the door interrupted her thoughts. "Go away! I will not be entertaining any guests." Eruanna called out in her co-captain voice.

"Can you entertain the king then?" King Thranduil smiled right outside the door, Eruanna was shock for the King never visited her ever. She quickly ran to the door and opened it and bowed, "I am sorry my King! I thought you were someone else." she said.

He smiled and looked on the ground and saw the wedding invitation, "I see you haven't opened the invitation." he said as he stepped. "Yes My king, I was sick and it seems I can't attend the wedding." she lied. "What a shame, you would be the most beautiful elleth there." the king said making Eruanna shock as she closed the door and offered the King her best seat in the small cottage.

"I am sorry for your loss." he said and Eruanna just smiled. The king then smiled and said "I remember you would play with Legolas when you were young and you would always pull his hair and say 'why can't my hair be this color'." and then the king chuckled, Eruanna smiled at the memory.

"What was your favorite memory?" the king asked, "When my mother died, Legolas was there for me day and night. He would sing me to sleep, he would bring me on adventures, he would just make everything better." Eruanna said as she looked at the small painting of her and Legolas.

"Yes, it is quite rare to find him singing. He has the most fairest voice in all of the wood but ever since his mother passed he never sang but you were an exception." the king said. Eruanna touched her mother's ruby pendant. and the King said "Do you know what that pendant means?"

"There is a meaning?" Eruanna asked in shock. "Yes, It's to be said when the first time you wear it you would fall in love with your soul mate." the King said. "I remember your mother wore that and she fell instantly for your father and married him without question even though I was courting her that time."

"Legolas..." Eruanna whispered as she held the Ruby Pendant in her hand. As she remembered the day she first wore it was the day she fell in love with Legolas.

"Ah yes... you and Legolas. I always thought you two were to end up with each other, I remember he would always talk about you. How beautiful you were how brave and a skillful fighter you were. He would even blush talking about you. I also remember when he was young he told me one day he would marry you." the King said "Yeah, but he is marrying another." Eruanna said sadly. The king stood up "Legolas came to me last night, he wanted to cancel the wedding but I rejected it. Yes! He is making a terrible mistake by marrying a gold digging elleth but I didn't want Legolas to stop it, I wanted you to stop it." The king said, the king then went to open the door but Eruanna stopped him.

"My king!" the king turned around, "How would you know if I was to stop the wedding or not?" Eruanna asked, the King smiled and said "I know you love him, I have faith in you." and then he disappeared behind the door.

Eruanna was confused. If she should stop it or not. Eruanna didn't know what happened. She quickly dashed out the door with her Bow and daggers with her, hoping she wasn't too late.

Right before Gandalf could announce the two to be married, Someone shouted, "I OBJECT!" and a dagger flew between the almost married couple and a few inches away from Gandalf's head, but Gandalf saw it coming. and everyone gasped and looked to the entrance, Legolas then smiled brightly to see the one he truly loves, the one he would always admire when she was not looking. The one who made sure he was safe and healthy. The one he wanted to marry since he was a little elfling. Eruanna.

"Lirimaer!" Legolas shouted, "AHHHH! YOU RUIN EVERYTHING YOU GOOD FOR NOTHING--" Arilaf was yelling but Gandalf hit her with his staff silencing her.

Legolas ran and also Eruanna but before they could meet each other they both heard a Glass shatter soon screams from elves could be heard they were once again attacked by Orcs.

Legolas and Eruanna turn back to back, "Are you ready to fight once again side by side captain?" Eruanna asked with a smirk. "Yes Mela en' coiamin." (love of my life) Legolas said making a quick eye contact with Eruanna.

They could hear Arilaf scream and shout and crying from where they stood, as Eruanna looked at her she was trying to hide behind the robes of Gandalf and she laughed at the sight.

As they were fighting Legolas said over the battle "Sorry Lirimaer! I thought you only loved me as a friend." then as Eruanna blocked a sword that was about to hit legolas she said "I also thought the same way." they both exchanged sides and they were on their bows.

"Eruanna, would you accept me and forgive me if I was to court you?" Legolas asked, "Are you seriously asking me this over the battle?" Eruanna asked, Legolas smirked and said "Yes, this is what we do best after all." Eruanna smirked even wider and said "No, this is what to best." and she pulled Legolas in for a tender kiss.

Her lips tingled once she tasted his sweet taste. She waited for this moment for a long time and so did he. They pulled away and Eruanna asked "Is that a yes for you?" Legolas smiled and kissed her again "Eruanna, you were and have always been here." Legolas said as he put his hand over his heart "And you are here." Eruanna said and did the same and they continued fighting.

Eruanna eventually said Yes and they both got married... then another problem appeared right before their honeymoon, Sauron had returned.
