What's Love?

A/N: expect some characters from Cardfight!! Vanguard G here.

"Say Nafi."

"What's up?"

"What's love?"

"Uhhhhhhhh. . ."

Both Hanafi and Wendy were on the rooftop of their school, practically where they always hang out with the others. For some reason, though, the others weren't there. Chrono had to go home early because turns out he was sick, Kazuma had something to do, so he left school, and Taiyou had to help the teachers with something.

Hanafi gave a shrug as his reply. "I'm not really sure. I've never been in love before."

"You never had?!!" Wendy asked, pretty much shocked.

"Never. What'd you expect from a guy who's afraid of girls?" Hanafi applied his lie again.

"Oh. Right." And again, Wendy took the bait. There, they sat on the bench, feeling awkward with each other.

"Well, what's love is probably a universal question that seemed to be argued on what it truly means," Hanafi suddenly voiced out. Wendy looked at the black haired boy.

"What?"

"What's love, you ask me? I answered I don't know, as I have no knowledge on what love is, or what it even truly is. What do you think love is?" Hanafi questioned Wendy. She seemed to be in deep thought, before she gave her reply.

"I think love is that feeling when you see someone, and your heart beats really really quickly, as if your heart might burst out of your chest."

"Have you experienced it?"

"Well, I had from these past few days."

"What, when I just enrolled here?"

Wendy nodded.

"I don't know why, but every time I'm with you, my heart just beats really quickly, but. . I don't really know why. I may have told you that it might've been love, but I don't know myself."

"I see. . ."

Silence and awkwardness seeped into the duo once again.

'Why did she brought that up, though?' Hanafi thought. He stood up.

"Where're you going?" Wendy asked.

"I'm going home. I got homework," Hanafi replied. He did had homework, and used that excuse to get out of the awkward situation. He took his leave and passed by Taiyou, who was planning to go to the rooftop.

"Hanafi? Where're you going?" He asked. He was the only one to call him 'Hanafi' and not his nickname 'Nafi'.

"I'm going home. I got some homework to finish. Oh, and Wendy's at the rooftop," Hanafi replied quickly, like he usually does, before he quickly walked away. Taiyou glanced at the black haired, before he went to the rooftop. There, he saw Wendy, who seemed down on her spirits.

"Wendy? Something's on your mind?" Taiyou asked. Wendy looked up at the boy.

"Hey Taiyou. It's just that. . Whenever I'm around Nafi, my heart just pounds really quickly, y'know?" Wendy said to him. Taiyou quickly caught up on what she had said, but took it the wrong way.

"Wait, you confessed to Hanafi?!!" Taiyou asked.

"W-wha-no!!!" Wendy quickly replied, her cheeks stained red.

"Oh. . . But, do you even know that you're. . Well. ."

"What?"

"Oh wow. You didn't notice it yet?"

"Notice what?"

"Wendy. You're in love with Hanafi."

"Wait, I am?!" Wendy blushed.

"Yes. You are, Wendy."

"H-how-"

"You said it yourself. Your heart pounds whenever you're around Hanafi. Isn't that an obvious sign?"

"Uh. . ."

"Why don't you confess to him already? It's been weeks, and you two are still not being together?"

". . . I'll. . . Try."

"Good!"

Taiyou gave a smile, before he left, and Wendy followed out soon after.

The next day

Hanafi was, as usual, walking to school. He heaved a sigh of relief. He had finished his homework, but then he remembered the conversation he had with Wendy. He quickly shook it out of his head.

'No. No way she has a crush on me. She must have a crush on Kazuma, or Taiyou. They are conventionally attractive. I'm just a normal guy,' he thought. He didn't realise that Wendy was right behind him.

"NAFI!!" Wendy yelled at his ear. The black haired boy gave out a yelp, before he quickly turned around.

"Wendy?!!!" Hanafi said out, his face clearly showing shock, making Wendy giggle. Hanafi heaved a sigh.

"What is it that you want?" He asked.

"Well, I wanna say to you something," Wendy replied. Her cheeks were suddenly red, as her conversation with Taiyou the day before repeated in her mind.

"Make it quick, though," Hanafi replied.

"I. ."

She looked up at Hanafi, who was slightly taller than her.

"I think I'm in love with you."

Hanafi blinked, his face dark red, as he covered his face out of embarrassment. He sat down and gave out muffled sentences.

"Why me, Wendy? There's Taiyou and Kazuma. So why choose me?"

Wendy took his hands onto hers, and looked Hanafi square at the face. Hanafi's face was very red at that point.

"Because you're not like them. You're nicer than them, you always know how to cheer me up, you even taught me how to play vanguard properly. If you weren't there for me, I wouldn't be who I am now." She then cupped Hanafi's cheeks, and stared into his eyes.

"I don't think I'm in love with you," Hanafi said. This actually broke her heart, until he said this:

"I am VERY sure that I'm in love with you."

Tears threatened to come out of Wendy's eyes, as she proceeded to hug the boy. The boy let out a smile and hugged back. They didn't even notice Chrono and Tokoha witnessing it.

"Awww. That's adorable," Tokoha commented.

"Yeah. Wait, they're kissing," Chrono replied.

"Huh?"

They saw Hanafi and Wendy, their lips pressed against each other.
