Love! I'm Home!
Hello! I am back with another one-shot. This one is Jikook themed. I haven't written anything for this ship in ages, so this one is going to be a tad bit longer. I hope none of you mind. I stumbled across this prompt online and just fell in love with it. I couldn't decide what ship to use for a while and then it suddenly dawned on me, Jikook would be absolutely adorable and totally fits. Thus, this one-shot has been born. I'm not going to say exactly what the prompt is cause it sort of ruins the story, so let's get into it.
Jeon Jungkook is a simple young man. He goes to college in Seoul alongside his friend Kim Taehyung. He lives in an apartment about a thirty minute drive from his older brother and his boyfriend's flat. He enjoys video games and grilled meat. He likes boxing, finding the rush of adrenaline amazing. He frequents a dance studio in town run by another friend of his. He prefers to be home than stay out, something his friends say he picked up from his hyung. He likes comfortable clothes in shades of black or gray. Oh and the most important aspect of his life. He has been terribly alone...terribly single for most of his twenty three years of life. It probably doesn't seem like that big of a deal considering his age. He's young. He's got plenty of years left to date. He's stressing over nothing. Except for Jungkook, it isn't nothing. He's one of those people, the ones with stars in their eyes when they hear about love. The ones who dream about that first kiss or even the first touch. The one that gushes at others stories about love. The one who wants nothing more than to find a love of their own. Jungkook is that person. For as long as he could remember, he is that person. He's not ashamed to admit it either. After all, what's wrong with loving love? Sure, it makes him come across as a bit naive and ditsy. And yes, his hyungs tease him about it all the time. But, none of that will make him stop dreaming about his own happily ever after. After all, his pessimistic brother found the love of his life. Why couldn't he? There's this habit of his that he's developed because of his craving for a love story of his own. Kind of like brushing your teeth in the morning. Jungkook, every day when he returns to his apartment, calls out to his imaginary partner. You eat three meals a day and Jungkook announces he is home to his boyfriend that doesn't exist. He started it a couple years ago and it just stuck. No matter what, he would yell out of his return to a significant other that isn't real. This is what his hyung liked to tease him most about. Yoongi had found his dongseong's actions absolutely ridiculous. It made him look real stupid to speak to someone that isn't really there. His hyung's boyfriend, Namjoon, thought it was cute though. The dimpled man found it sweet and would scold Yoongi for being so harsh to Jungkook. He would always say that love is a wonderful thing and the fact that Jungkook treasures it so is admirable. Yoongi would roll his eyes at that, but Jungkook always appreciated Namjoon's words. It made him feel a little less self-conscious and silly when doing his daily routine. Of course, he never received an answer and Jungkook was fine with that. He knows that one day, he will get to hear the sweet voice of his lover when he returns home. He just didn't expect it to be so soon.
————————————
Jungkook unlocks the front door to his apartment and opens the door. He tosses his bag onto the floor of the foyer, not having any assignments to work on over the weekend. He sighs as he kicks off his shoes and pushes them to the corner before walking towards the couch. "Hey, love, I'm home!" Jungkook calls out in a tired tone as he flops onto the couch. He lets his eyes fall shut as he buries his face into a pillow. "I got some lamb skewers from that place you like on my way back from class," A voice says. Jungkook doesn't pay it much mind for a second, too tired and out of it to register that someone has just answered him. He turns a bit on the couch, trying to get comfortable when it dawns on him that someone just spoke to him. His eyes shoot open and his shoulders become taunt. There's no way that someone just talked to him. There's no one else in his apartment. It's impossible. Jungkook has to be hearing things. He's hallucinating or something. He's asleep and dreaming. That has to be it. There isn't anyone actually here. No one is here except for himself. He's just going crazy. "Bun?" The voice questions, "Did you hear me?" Or not. Jungkook sits up and pushes himself up from the couch. He quietly tiptoes in the direction that he heard the voice, which is near his kitchen. He peeks around the wall and stiffens when he sees a young man around his hyung's height with black hair. He is unpacking take out containers of rice and meat from a large brown paper bag. He is garbed in an oversized sweater that shows off his collarbones and form fitting ripped black pants. If this were any other situation, Jungkook would turn red cause of how good looking the guy in his kitchen is. Okay, he still is turning a tad bit pink, but right now his heart is racing a mile a minute and it isn't cause he's flustered. There's a stranger in his kitchen. How in the world is there are very hot stranger in his kitchen? How did he get in here? What is Jungkook supposed to do? Is he supposed to call the cops? Should he call the cops? "Bun? What are you doing?" The young man says, his eyes locked on Jungkook. Jungkook's eyes widen as he stares back at him, not knowing what to do or say. "Is everything okay?" The young man asks with concern in his voice. Jungkook doesn't say anything as he turns around and makes a mad dash into his room. He slams the door shut behind him and locks the door. His eyes dart back and forth for a bit before he takes a deep breath in an attempt to calm himself down. He reaches into his sweatshirt pocket and pulls out his phone. His hands are a bit jittery as he taps at the screen. He slowly brings his phone to his ear and lets out a breath as he waits for his call to be picked up. "What?" A gruff voice says as the phone call is answered.
"Hyung!" Jungkook says in a slightly panicked tone, "You need to help me."
"With what?" Yoongi sighs, "It's Friday night, Jungkook. Namjoon and I have something planned..."
"This is more important than you kissing your boyfriend, hyung!" Jungkook whines, "There's someone in my apartment! I came home today and when I called out to say I was home...someone answered me! I'm not kidding! Someone legitimately answered! I went to investigate and I saw this drop dead gorgeous guy in my kitchen! He has black hair and he's a bit short, but he is like just my type! But, that's beside the point! He was unpacking takeout! In my kitchen! I don't know how he got in! I don't know who he is! He keeps calling me bun and he looks at me like we've known each other for years!!! But, he is a stranger! He is a stranger and he's in my apartment! Hyung!!! What do I do?!" Yoongi doesn't answer for a second and Jungkook frowns. He pulls the phone from his ear to check that the call didn't get disconnected before speaking again, "Hyung? Did you hear me? Are you still there?"
"Yes, yes," Yoongi huffs, "Why did you call me, Jungkook? I'm really not in the mood for pranks right now."
"Pranks!?" Jungkook says incredulously, "This isn't a prank!"
"Right," Yoongi says in a deadpan voice, "I'm not stupid."
"I'm not lying to you, hyung!" Jungkook exclaims, "There really is a stranger in my house."
"Jimin isn't a stranger, Jungkook," Yoongi states, "You pulled something like this when you first started dating him. It's not going to work again."
"Jimin? Dating?" Jungkook questions.
"Yes, Jimin. The gorgeous man in your house is your freaking boyfriend, you oaf," Yoongi says.
"My what now!?" Jungkook says in complete disbelief.
"Your boyfriend, Jungkook, the guy you've been dating since you started high school," Yoongi says.
Jungkook laughs, "Me!? I haven't been dating! I haven't even gone on a date before!"
"Sure," Yoongi says, "Sometimes I wonder how you ever got someone like Jimin. I don't know what's up with you, but you better not call me again for something this silly. I'm hanging up."
"Wait! Hyung!" Jungkook exclaims, "You can't just-," He is cut off by the sound of his brother ending the call. He yanks the phone from his ear and frowns. His boyfriend? Jimin? What in the world is going on? The bunny-toothed man starts to tap at his phone, checking his social media and photos for any sign of this supposed person he's been with for the past couple of years. His mouth slowly falls open as he scrolls through his camera roll to find multiple selcas of himself and that boy in his kitchen. His jaw is completely dropped when he sees his description on his social media that says dating the wonderful Park Jimin. Jungkook shakes his head, his mind reeling from all of this. He doesn't understand how he could suddenly have a boyfriend. Just yesterday, he was walking home to an empty house as a single man. Now, he's been with someone for the past three years! That doesn't just happen. "This can't be a dream? Can it?" Jungkook questions, "I mean...I don't remember falling asleep...but if I think it's a dream, don't I usually wake up when I realize it's a dream. I could always..." He pinches himself and yelps in pain. He looks around, but his position hasn't changed. He glances down at his phone again to see the lock screen of a beaming Park Jimin staring back at him. "What am I supposed to do now?" Jungkook questions.
————————————
Eventually, Jungkook built up the courage to venture outside. He slips out of the bedroom and makes his way to the makeshift dining room where Jimin sits in one of the chairs. There's an assortment of takeout boxes cluttered in the center of the table. Jimin has a bowl of rice in front of him and chopsticks clutched in his hand. His mouth is stuffed with food as he looks up at Jungkook in surprise. He covers his mouth and swallows before speaking, "Are you okay?"
"Uh....yeah," Jungkook says, "Jimin-ssi..."
"Really?" Jimin sighs, "You're calling me Jimin-ssi again."
"Well...I...um..." Jungkook stutters, not knowing what to say. He isn't close to Jimin even though everything and everyone is saying otherwise. Even if he's been dating Jimin, to him the young man is someone he is meeting for the first time. "The food should still be warm," Jimin says, "Are you hungry?" Jungkook nods his head and tentatively goes to take a seat across from Jimin. The young man passes him a container of rice and some wooden chopsticks. Jungkook takes them and proceeds to pick at the packaged side dishes. He can feel Jimin's eyes on him as he eats, but tries his hardest not to think much of it. "Here," Jimin says, lifting up a wooden stick with meat lined up on it towards Jungkook, "Open up." Jungkook slowly creaks open his mouth as Jimin sticks the skewer inside. Jungkook pulls back, sliding the meat off the stick and into his mouth. He hums as the flavor hits his tongue and he chews the meat happily. Jimin giggles at his expression and balances the skewer on Jungkook's bowl. "Eat slowly," Jimin says, "I got them just for you."
"Thanks," Jungkook says, his face turning a bit red.
Jimin nods his head, "Anything for my bun..." Jungkook turns even redder at the nickname, not expecting the term of endearment. He shuffles a bit in his chair nervously. His heart pounds in his chest and he can't help but feel extremely flustered. This must be what a first date feels like, he thinks. Besides him fleeing earlier, it isn't that horrible of one either. He's rather enjoying himself. "Why did you run away earlier?" Jimin asks, "Was something wrong?" Jungkook purses his lips together, not knowing what to tell the man across from him. He can't exactly say that it's cause he thought Jimin was a stranger, but then realized it was just his boyfriend who he never had before today. Jungkook looks down at his plate and sighs. It's better to just play along. Jimin doesn't need to know that before today, he didn't exist. It would be better to just act like everything is normal. He doesn't know how Jimin got here, but he's here now and there isn't anything he can do about it. This doesn't have to become a bad thing either. He's attracted to Jimin. He is good looking after all. And if they have somehow started dating, he has to be a good person as well. He might as well get to know the boy better. There is no harm in that. "Uh...no," Jungkook says after a bit of time, "I was just um...reminiscing and getting emotional."
"Aw, why?" Jimin questions.
"Just thinking about us," Jungkook says, "Do you remember back then?"
"Of course, I do," Jimin says with a small smile, launching into a story from when they first met. Jungkook lets out a quiet breath and does his best to pay attention, wanting to know more about their relationship and more importantly about Park Jimin. The two chatted for the rest of the night and Jungkook couldn't be happier. It's hard to believe that just hours ago, Jimin was a complete stranger to him. The young man is so warm and sweet. It just took a couple minutes before Jungkook was dragged into Jimin's world and he loved it. He, dare say, loved Jimin. He was adorable. His eyes would disappear when he smiles and he has this endearing laugh. He was kind and passionate. Like an Angel from the heavens. He was everything that Jungkook could've possibly wanted in a boyfriend. Someone who loved him, but wouldn't hesitate to tease him or set him straight. Someone who always thought about others and would lean on him for help. It was like his perfect boyfriend walked straight out of his imagination. By the end of the night, he felt content with his situation. He could deal with having a boyfriend like Jimin around if he had to. I mean it isn't the absolute worst thing in the world. Jungkook went to bed that night with a large smile on his face, excited to see what the weekend would bring now that he was no longer single and had Park Jimin in his life.
————————————
As the weekend went and gone and weeks became months, Jungkook began to adapt to having a boyfriend. He found himself enjoying it as much as he dreamed he would. Jimin was amazing. There wasn't a dull moment when it was the two of them. Every single second that Jungkook spent with Jimin was one that he would hold with him forever. Jungkook changed from that single man dreaming for love to a taken one who is in a constant state of bliss. A state brought on by Jimin. Love was better than he could have ever imagined. Especially when the person he loved was Jimin. It was weird at first. Jimin would recall things that Jungkook couldn't, but eventually that awkwardness faded away. The two began to make new memories with one another. They would dance together at the studio where they had first met for hours. They would go on random shopping sprees and late night walks. Every Friday, they would stay at home and order some take out. They would binge watch movies or chat until dawn. This all became Jungkook's new normal. His new life. And he was happy with it. There isn't a day that goes by that he wishes for things to go back to the way they were. He wants to keep living this life with Jimin. He still has no idea how the young man suddenly popped into the world, but he could care less. As long as Jimin was around, Jungkook would love him. He would love him full-heartedly. He would appreciate him. He would care for him as they grow old. He will breathe for Jimin cause he knows the older would do the exact same for him.
————————————
"You know ever since that night you called me, you've been acting weird," Yoongi says. They sit within a medium sized room with glowing strobe lights and a large TV screen playing a music video with lyrics on the bottom. Taehyung and Jimin stand in front of it with microphones in their hands, belting out to some sad love song. Hoseok and Namjoon sit beside the brothers, swaying back and forth as their friends sing. "What do you mean?" Jungkook asks.
"You're acting like you did when you first started going out with Jimin," Yoongi says, "Like a giddy teenager..." Jungkook flushes red and shifts a bit in his seat. He shrugs, not knowing what to say to his hyung. He hasn't told anyone about how Jimin never really existed a couple months ago. They wouldn't believe him even if he did. In their minds, Jimin has always been around. As to how he's been acting, in his perspective, he has just started going out with Jimin. He's experiencing all his firsts now. He can't help his joy. "I just really appreciate having Jimin," Jungkook says.
"I appreciate having Namjoon, but I don't look at him like he moves the world," Yoongi states. The older, not being one for very extreme signs of affection, something that his dimpled boyfriend doesn't mind. "You should..." Jungkook says, glancing at his boyfriend as he dances around with a wide smile on his face. A grin of his own starts to appear as he makes eye contact with his lover. He waves at Jimin, who waves back and blows him a quick kiss before glancing at the karaoke screen again. "It's wonderful," Jungkook says in a lovesick tone. Yoongi scrunches up his nose, not understanding his younger brother. Sure, Jungkook has always been that kid that was enamored with love, but even this is a bit much for him. He's acting like he's in wonderland. Like he's walking around in a dream world or he's high on drugs or something. He would be lying if he said he wasn't a tad bit concerned. "If you need to talk, I am here," Yoongi says.
"I'm fine, hyung, really," Jungkook says, "Better actually. I feel great."
"If you say so, Jungkook," Yoongi sighs, letting the topic slide.
————————————
Jungkook fell for Jimin fast. Real fast considering how Jimin magically appeared one day. The boy was head over heels in love at the drop of a hat. It may come across as a bit worrying, but it really wasn't. Jungkook and Jimin are dating after all. Jungkook should love the other unconditionally. And he did. The issue was that Jungkook got so lost in the euphoria of loving Park Jimin that he forgot that his boyfriend hasn't always been a constant in his life. That important tidbit came back to him after a chilling nightmare. One that caused him to sweat and his heart to thump against his rib cage. In the horrid dream, he was returning from class and called out to his boyfriend as he always does. This time though he didn't receive an answer. He was confused at first, but checked to make sure Jimin didn't leave a note saying he was out or something. He was beginning to get a little concerned when he couldn't find anything. He opened his phone only to see that his wallpaper had reverted to what it was prior to Jimin's appearance. He frantically checked his social media and his photo gallery, all having returned to the way it was before his lovely rendezvous with Park Jimin. He called his brother, in hopes of it just being a prank. The phone call just made him feel worse as Yoongi teased him for making up a boyfriend at his age. By then, millions of emotions started flooding into Jungkook. Confusion, pain, fear, sadness. He curled up in a ball and started to bawl, wanting it to all fade away like a bad dream, which it thankfully was. When he woke up, he immediately checked for Jimin's presence beside him in bed. The young man was curled up in the covers, his mouth partially open and his hair flopping over his eyes. Jungkook let out a shaky breath and reached out to brush away some of Jimin's hair. He's still here, he tells himself. Jungkook shakes his head, trying to rid himself of the terror that clenches at his heart. He slowly lays back down in bed, shifting a bit closer to Jimin, who unknowingly wraps his arm around his boyfriend's chest. Jungkook leans into his hold and lets out a breath of contentment. He shuts his eyes and tries to fall asleep again, but struggles as a single thought runs through his mind. Jimin appeared so suddenly in his life, he can just as easily slip out of it as well.
————————————
From that day forward, Jungkook made it a habit of being a bit clingier to Jimin. The older didn't mind it much even though he was a tad bit concerned. It started with Jungkook always insisting on holding Jimin's hand or how he would make it a habit of kissing him at random times of the day in places where you don't really kiss someone. It got a bit more out of hand as he began to tag along when Jimin had errands to run that didn't require another person or call him three times every hour just to check up on him. The breaking point, even for someone as kind-hearted as Jimin, was when Jungkook insisted they remain at home. He didn't want them to go out for any reason. He said that home is where the heart is. They had spent money on the apartment and it was a waste to leave it empty when they go to school. Jimin had agreed the first few days, but as their ditch days became a constant even a bad student like Jimin had to draw the line. "I really need to go to class today, Kook," Jimin says, "I missed enough lessons to be behind."
"Can't you just stay here again and ask Taemin to send you the notes?" Jungkook pleads with wide eyes.
Jimin sighs and shakes his head, "I've done that too many times, bun. I really need to be there. You should too. Why don't you just come with me to school?"
"I don't want to leave the house," Jungkook mumbles, his fear about returning to an empty apartment replaying in his mind.
"What was that?" Jimin questions.
"Nothing," Jungkook says, looking at the floor. He sits on the couch with his legs criss crossed. Jimin has a bag thrown over his shoulder and he stands near the hallway leading to the foyer. The young man sighs and drops his bag to the floor. He walks over to the couch and takes a seat. He slides his arms around Jungkook's waist and leans his head into the crook of his neck. "What's wrong, bun?" Jimin asks in a quiet tone, "You've been going down this crazy spiral recently..."
"Y-you noticed?" Jungkook stutters in surprise.
Jimin nods, "Of course, I did. I didn't mind all the skinship or the kisses, but you're kind of keeping me captive here, Jungkookie..."
"I didn't mean to do that," Jungkook says in a sheepish tone.
"I know," Jimin says, "I'm just worried to be honest. Is everything okay?" He looks to Jungkook with a soft expression on his face, showing his willingness to listen to the younger. Jungkook looks back at Jimin with a saddened look on his face. A part of him wants to tell him why he's doing all of this, but can't help but hold himself back. He still doesn't feel like he can reveal to Jimin what really is going on. He knows Jimin would most likely be understanding about it, but he is still hesitant. Jungkook takes a deep breath and shakes his head, "It's nothing, hyung," Jungkook says, "You can go to school. I'll see you later." Jimin frowns and looks at Jungkook for another second before nodding his head and standing up. He presses a kiss to the side of Jungkook's head and murmurs, "Bye, Bun." He walks over to grab his bag from the floor and heads towards the door. Jungkook lets out a sigh as he listens to Jimin leave the house, fear and worry still running through his blood like some sort of drug.
————————————
Jungkook's fears subsided a bit as the week went on. He took a step back, trying to give Jimin some space and not freak him out by his own anxieties. Things calmed down a bit as Jungkook did his best to bury his worries. They continued to live their lives and none of Jungkook's nightmares became true. Regardless of this, Jungkook's fears still gnawed at him every day. The young man tried to ignore it, but it was like a blaring alarm ringing in his head. He couldn't switch it off no matter what he did. It's cause he cares too much for Jimin. It's cause he loves him. Jimin is in his heart now and Jungkook has always been someone to hold those in his heart close. If he were to lose Jimin, Jungkook doesn't doubt that he would lose himself. Nonetheless, Jungkook does his best to not show his emotions to Jimin, trying to maintain the facade of everything being okay. Jungkook unlocks the front door to his apartment with a bag of fried chicken in his hands. He hums under his breath as he slips his shoes off and strolls into the apartment. "I'm back, love!" Jungkook calls out, "I brought chicken!" The young man doesn't hear a response from his boyfriend and frowns. He looks around the living room which is empty. He makes his way to the also empty kitchen and places the chicken box on the countertop. "Love?" Jungkook questions in a quiet voice. Fear seizes his chest and his eyes widen in alarm. He rushes out of the kitchen and rushes to their shared room which is also completely empty. Jungkook's breath catches in his throat and he stumbles backwards. "N-no," Jungkook stutters, "No, no, no..." He staggers into the living room and falls to the carpet. His breathing begins to become ragged as he is dragged back into that nightmare he had. He shakes his head as tears start to appear in his eyes. "Wake up, wake up," Jungkook mumbles, "Jimin...where is he...he has to be here...where is he...where...no....don't leave me...please..." He can't just be gone. Jimin can't just not exist again. His light. His love. His everything. He can't just have disappeared. Jungkook clenched at his chest as he curls in on himself, begging for Jimin. Pleading for the boy to come back to him. Hoping for Jimin's lithe body to just wrap around his. Wishing for his sweet, smooth lips to press against his cheeks. Wanting nothing more than for Jimin to be by his side right now. Jungkook's entire body shakes as sobs rack his body. He grabs at the carpet, clenching it in an attempt to keep him grounded. His entire body feels numb as he cries. He can barely hold himself up anymore cause of pain he feels. He lowers himself to the ground and continues to cry, his tears making the carpet damp. He sniffles, his face becoming blotchy and snot covered. Jungkook doesn't even notice as someone lifts him up and cradles his head close to their chest. "Shhhhhh, I'm here, it's okay," Jimin says in a quiet voice. Jungkook blinks a couple of times and looks up at the sweet smile that is on the face of a concerned Park Jimin. "Y-you're here," Jungkook whispers.
"Of course, I am," Jimin says.
"I-I thought you were gone," Jungkook murmurs, a tear dripping down his cheek. Jimin shushes the younger and wipes at his face. He brings him closer to him and hugs him, stroking the back of his head. "I would never leave you," Jimin says, "I love you..." Jungkook whimpers at his words and buries his face into his boyfriend's shirt. Jimin continues to coo at the younger, letting him soil his shirt as he bawls like a baby.
————————————
A couple of hours later, the two are situated on the couch. Jimin glancing at Jungkook every so often with a worried expression on his face. Jungkook sniffling and wiping his eyes, exhausted after crying so much. "Do you want to talk about it?" Jimin asks. Jungkook shakes his head and brings his legs up to his chest. Jimin sighs, "Well, I think you should talk about it." Jungkook doesn't say anything, his eyes tilted down to the floor. "I'm just worried about you, bun," Jimin says, "I was just in the back hanging up some laundry and when I come back I find you on the floor crying your eyes out. Is there something wrong? Please don't say no. There's something going on, Jungkook. I'm not blind. I want to help you, but I can't if I don't know what is going on." Jungkook doesn't say anything, he doesn't even look like he's even heard Jimin's words. He just sits still with a blank expression on his splotchy face. Jimin sighs and crosses his arms over his chest, not knowing what to do. "You never existed a couple of months ago," Jungkook murmurs.
"What?" Jimin questions with a raised eyebrow, wondering if he heard correctly.
"A couple months ago, you and I were never dating," Jungkook begins to ramble, "I was single and you never existed. You were never in my life. I used to come home to an empty house and then one day I come home to you. You! You popped up out of nowhere. Suddenly, I had a boyfriend. Suddenly, I had you! But, if you suddenly appear, you can suddenly disappear! I don't want you to disappear! I love you, Jimin. I love you so much that I can't bear to lose you!" Jimin blinks a couple of times, trying his best to process the word jumble that his boyfriend just said. He lets out a sigh and shakes his head, "I...well...I...I don't know what to say."
"You probably think I'm nuts," Jungkook chuckles, "I don't even believe myself."
"I don't think you're crazy," Jimin says, "I just...I can't say I think you're telling the truth. I mean...I feel real, but I trust you. I saw you....you know. You wouldn't react like that about something made up."
Jungkook nods and lets out a breath, "I'm just scared, hyung. You came to me in the blink of an eye that means that you can be taken away just as quickly. I don't know what I'll do if you're gone." Jimin purses his lips together and frowns. He scoots closer to Jungkook and takes his hand into his own. He runs his fingers over the boy's knuckles and presses a kiss to it. "Kookie," Jimin says, "Is this what you've been stressing about? Is this why you cried and why you wanted me to stay home all the time?" Jungkook slowly nods his head as Jimin flashes a tight-lipped smile at the boy, finding the boy somewhat endearing. "You know you're worrying about nothing," Jimin says.
"What do you mean?" Jungkook questions, "Aren't you afraid of ceasing to exist?"
Jimin shrugs, "Everyone is afraid of that. No one stays around forever, bun. You know that, don't you?"
"Yeah, but that's different," Jungkook says.
"Is it?" Jimin questions, "You fear that one day the very thing that brought me here is going to take me away. That's the same that every living person on this Earth goes through. There's nothing you can do about it, but live your life to the fullest."
"What does that have to do with us?" Jungkook asks, still not understanding what his boyfriend is getting at.
"Maybe, one day, I will disappear," Jimin says, "But, that isn't today. It may not be ever. I may stay here with you until you're sick and tired of me. You'll never know. You never know what may happen. That's why you can't drive yourself crazy over the undetermined future. Instead, you just have to enjoy what you have right now. Be happy right now. That's all you can do. Live life to the fullest." Jungkook slowly lifts his head up and looks at Jimin, who has a smile on his face. His eyes glow with affection and care, making Jungkook's heart skip a beat. How did he get so lucky to be graced with such a handsome, sweet, thoughtful person like Jimin? Jungkook slowly starts to smile as well, reaching his arms out to grab Jimin and bring him close. He squeezes him tight and places his chin in the crook of his neck, "Thank you."
"There's nothing to thank me for, bun," Jimin hums, "I just want you to be happy."
"I am happy," Jungkook says with a content look on his face, "Cause, right now, the person I love the most is in my arms."
Oh, this emotional rollercoaster. What did you think? Did you enjoy it? It's been a while since I wrote this ship, so I hope that I did Jikook justice. Jungkook was our relatable, emotional guy and Jimin was our sweet-hearted lovely love. Anyway, I hope that you enjoyed this one-shot. If you did, please vote, comment, follow me, add this story to your library, and check out my story Collision Course.
