Winter's Ghost: Public Introduction
A/N Why not make a part two? The first oneshot was fun to make, so here we go!
It had been almost three months since we were taken away from HYDRA's grasp. 38 and 42 finally were given names. 38, the black wolf was now known as "Shadow", 42, the grey wolf was now known as "Storm". I was still known as Ghost, currently, I was resting on the leather couch In what the Avengers called the "Common Room" Or "Lounge Room". The heavy metal collar that HYDRA had on us was removed, now, lying around my neck and the others were light weight, high tech collars. The collars had tags hanging off the silver loop In front, with our name, phone number of one of our handlers and our home location. Another tag was just added recently, a rabies tag, proving that we had been given the vaccines that was required by state. Our vests had been remade and Improved, mine was an off-white color that almost perfectly matched the color of my fur, Shadow has a black one and Storm has a dark grey one. On the back of our vests have the Avengers' signature silver "A". Tony had chipped each of us In our left ear, the chip was so they could keep track of us or find us If we ever got lost. We had gotten quite comfortable In the tower and with new people, we're still adapting to the affection and care from the Avengers.
Footsteps echoed down the hall, coming towards the direction I lay on the couch. Currently I wasn't wearing my vest. I was laying on my stomach, my tail curled around my hindquarters and my head resting on my front paws which were outstretched. My aqua eyes were closed, focusing In on the footsteps I heard coming In my direction, the way they walked proved that they held themselves as confident, cocky even, but something was also lurking behind the surface. Something that everyone didn't know. The owner of the footsteps rounded the corner and continued their way towards me. My aqua orbs opened, raising my head from my paws, I turned to the left. There stood a man with brown hair that almost looked black, hazel brown eyes and a goatee adorning his face. My ears flicked as he stopped just by the couch. His hazel brown eyes fell onto my frame, a smirk falling over his facial features. "Alright, Down." He ordered, pointing his left Index finger to the floor. Standing up, I followed his order and leapt to the floor, aqua eyes looking at him for the next command. They had been working on English orders with us, making sure we understood them. "Heel." The order left his lips gently, I swiveled my body and trotted towards him, circling around his back before stopping at his left. "Good girl." He rewarded, his hand scratching behind my ears. He began walking, my paws padding against the ground below to keep up with him. He was leading the way to the elevator, I've never been a big fan of those moving boxes. As he entered the moving box they called an elevator, I hesitated before jumping In by his side and sitting down. He let a chuckle escape his lips as my body tensed at the movement of the elevator, his hand rested on my head and In between my ears. When the moving box- elevator stopped, he exited with me, gladly, following behind. When stepping out, the room opened up to a massive training level, with multiple different setups. Ranging from obstacles, ranges, hand to hand combat, punching bags, etc. But this particular training level was split In half, the man lead the way through the door that split the level. On the other half had obstacle courses and other methods of training for dogs. In our case, more specifically, wolves. Upon entering the room, I noticed that Shadow and Storm were here with their given handlers as well. We had at least two handlers, one main and one backup. The metal armed man, who was now known as Bucky, was my backup as of currently until the team feels comfortable sending him back out onto the field. The man next to me, Anthony Stark, or Tony Stark, was my main handler. Shadow's backup handler was agent Natasha Romanoff, his main handler was agent Clint Barton. Storm's backup handler was Bruce Banner, the Hulk. His main handler happened to be Steve Rogers, Captain America.
Tony walked forwards, stopping next to Clint and Natasha who had Shadow sitting In front of them. I sat down In front of his feet, my aqua eyes darting over to Shadow who gave back a wolffish grin. My head snapped back to the front as Steve walked to the front of the group, looking at every handler and their canine. Pointing to the obstacle course that was set up behind them, he began speaking. "We're going to run these three through the obstacle course before we head out. This Is to ensure we get some energy out of them, Okay?" The handlers all nodded, my eyes scanning over the obstacle course. "I need one person to hide somewhere within the obstacle course, the wolves will be hunting them down." He Instructed. Everyone looked across everyone before Tony pointed to Clint. "I say he Is the bait!" He nominated, Steve looked to everyone else as they nodded. Clint gave an over dramatic whine, but agreed to the situation anyways. Tony gave Clint a smirk, motioning to enter the obstacle course and go hide.
Once It was confirmed that Clint was hidden, Steve looked back to the other handlers that stood behind Shadow, Storm and I. He looked towards me, then switched his gaze to my fellow pack mates. His gaze landed on Storm. "Storm, come." He ordered, I watched as Storm stood up at the order and began trotting towards Steve. Storm stopped In front of Steve, ears perked up as he awaited his next command. Steve grabbed ahold of a cloth I didn't notice that was behind him on a table. He crouched down and held the cloth In front of Storm's face. Storm twitched an ear as he leans forwards and sniffed at It. "Retrieve." Steve ordered, stepping aside as he pointed towards the obstacle course where Clint had disappeared off to. Storm quickly spared Steve a glance before springing forwards Into a run. He disappeared Into the walls of the maze like obstacle course after the first jump. I looked towards Shadow again who was to my right, a wolf like smirk on my face. It wouldn't take long for Storm to retrieve Clint. Soon enough, Clint came running out of the obstacle course with Storm on his heels, growling and snapping at his heels. When Clint stopped, panting slightly, Storm began to circle him. "Storm, heel." Steve called out. Storm turned towards Clint and snarled at him one last time before trotting towards Steve and heeling on his right side. Steve reached a hand down, scratching between his ears as a praise. "Good boy. Now, Clint, go hide because Shadow's up next." Clint sighed, before turning and jumping over a jump made for us. It took a couple minutes for Clint to be confirmed hiding before Shadow was called up. Shadow gave me a smirk before running off Into the obstacle course like maze when given the command to retrieve. A couple of minutes later, Clint came running out again, Shadow right on his heels. Before Clint was given a chance to stop, Shadow pounced on him, pinning the archer to the floor beneath him with his weight. His canines were bared as he snarled In Clint's face. Natasha whistled, calling Shadow back to her and off of Clint. Shadow leapt off of Clint and Clint ran off, back Into the obstacle course. I took this as my cue to step forwards. I stood up and trotted towards Steve, stopping half way there when Shadow approached me. He was on his way back to Natasha, but took a detour. He stopped at my side, reaching forwards and licking my cheek. "Drag him out by the flesh on his bones, Alpha." I grinned, nudging him back before continuing on my way to Steve's side. Steve looked down at me as I stood In front of him, not sitting down like the others had done. My white fur bristled slightly In excitement. Steve brought the cloth towards my nose, reaching forwards I sniffed at It. It was a mix of Steve's scent and Clint's. I clung onto Clint's scent, my muscles bunching up as I awaited the command to go. "Retrieve." Steve ordered, with that, I sprung Into action. My paws hitting the ground beneath me and propelling me forwards. As I neared the first jump, I kicked my hind legs off the ground, my body surging forwards and up. Landing on the ground on the other side, I continued on my way, jumping, crawling, dodging. I soon caught wind of a familiar scent, the scent a farm would carry. I halted silently, creeping behind a log barricade that was there. My ears twitched as I picked up faint breathing on the other side of the large barricade. There was no way around or under It, you could only go over It. Looking around, I spotted a wooden log I had dodged that was close enough to the barricade so that I could jump over. Standing up, I silently padded towards the wooden log. Hauling myself up onto It, I backed up as close as I could to the edge to get a running start to help propel me over the barricade. I surged forwards, quickly nearing the end of the log. My hind legs gave a powerful kick to send myself over the barricade. I landed easily on the other side, my head whipped to the right. There, sat Clint huddled In a corner. A snarl ripped through my throat, Clint's head snapped up and he quickly darted to his feet and began running. I chased after him, but was not ready for when he turned and launched himself at me. I dodged to the left, turning and snapping at his arm as he regained his footing. I didn't want to get punished for Injuring him, but If he threatened me, I wouldn't hold back. Clint jumped back, swinging his fist at me and catching me at the side. He wasn't putting his full strength Into It, meaning he was most likely told to do this. I snapped out of It and launched towards him, causing him to sidestep and begin running again. I quickly gave chase, my teeth bared In a snarl as my hackles were raised. We jumped over a few obstacles before I could sense the others again. I had to take this out with a bang, I was an Alpha after all. I leapt onto an obstacle,
launching forwards and landing on Clint's back. He let out a yell of surprise as he went down, me on his back. I dug my teeth Into his coat, violently shaking my head as snarls rumbled through my throat. Clint rolled, trying to get me off his back. He reached a hand around, grabbing at my collar and pulling me off of him. He threw me farther away from him, giving him the chance to get up and try to run. I was quickly on my paws, chasing after him. The opening of the obstacle course came Into view as I once again, leapt for Clint. Instead of knocking him down, I grabbed his coat In my jaws and roughly tugged him backwards, causing him to fall. I jumped to the side, not caring the others could now see what happened. Clint fell to the hard floor below, letting out a grunt of pain. I leapt onto him, tearing Into his coat with my teeth. I got a firm grasp on him as he tried to wrestle his way out. I began dragging him backwards, towards the exit of the maze. Once I got him out, I threw him towards the others before jumping onto him again. Snarling Into his ears as I pushed him Into the floor below. My tail raised, my teeth bared as I opened my jaws, showing my dominance. Clint finally averted his gaze, submitting. I snapped at his face before huffing and jumping off of him, my head held high and ears perked up. Storm and Shadow both raced forwards, tails wagging as they lowered their ears and tails. Storm, being younger than both of us, licked at both of us, crouching lower to the ground as he emitted a whine. Storm was showing that we were older and had more authority. Shadow licked at my face, but still held his tail and ears down, showing he was no threat towards my status. Shadow and Storm now lay on the ground In front of me, tails rapidly wagging. I wagged my tail, showing I accepted their submission and they sprinted to their feet and back to their handlers. "Hah, suck It Spangles, I got the Alpha wolf." Tony mocked with a smirk. "Oh be quiet, Stark." Steve sighed, shaking his head. "I... Am.. never doing that again!" Clint exclaimed as he panted, he had gotten up off the floor and distanced himself from me and the others. "Well, now we have a press conference to get to, Birdbrain."
——Magical Space Potato timeskip——
The three wolves sat on the floor In a limousine as the six Avengers sat surrounding them. They were making small talk with one another, the white wolf, Ghost had her whitish vest on. Shadow had his black one on and Storm had his dark grey. Each vest adorned the silver, signature "A" for the Avengers on the back, In between the wolves shoulder blades. Ghost looked up, her aqua eyes meeting electric yellow and golden orange. Ghost army crawled over and closer to the other two, resting her head down on her paws. Shadow laid his head down upon hers, tail curled around his hindquarters. Storm lay next to Shadow, looking towards the two older wolves and smiling. The limousine soon stopped, Tony Stark's personal driver and bodyguard, Happy Hogan got out of the car and rounded It, opening the door for the other Avengers to step out. Tony stepped out first, soaking In the main attention from the paparazzi. Steve, Clint and Natasha each clipped a chain leash to each one of the wolves. Steve with Storm, Clint with Shadow and Natasha holding the leash to Ghost's collar. Bruce stepped out after Tony, followed by Thor who returned earlier that day. Natasha stepped out with Ghost first, Ghost heeled on her left like she was trained. Storm heeled to Steve's right stepped out with Steve then Shadow and Clint stepped out, Shadow heeled to Clint's right. The paparazzi went crazy at the sight of the Avengers with the wolves, cameras flashing and fangirls squealing. Guards escorted the Avengers, and wolves, Into the building where the press conference would be held.
Eventually, Tony was out and talking to the press, the other Avengers holding back till they announced what everyone had been wondering about. "Okay, first off, let's hold off on the pictures, okay? If you're to take pictures, flash off." He Instructed, before getting Into the real press conference. "Now, I know you all have been wondering why some of us have been walking around with strange canines." His hazel brown eyes glanced over the press, a reporter stepping forward. "Mr Stark, what exactly are these.. dogs?" "I was getting to that, but they are not dogs. Anything but dogs." He corrected, this caused reporters to look at each other In question. Murmurs going through the crowd. "Let's cut to the chase, yeah? Okay." Tony hummed, turning to look over his shoulder before looking back towards the press conference. "So as I mentioned, you're probably curious why we're walking around with canines and why they're here with us today. Today we're here to clear up some rumors." He turned to look over his left shoulder, holding his hand to the left to the stairs leading up to the stage. "So I would like to welcome my fellow teammates, Clint and Steve to the front." Steve walked up first, Storm In close proximity to his right side. Steve walked over to Tony's right, halting beside his fellow Avenger. Then Clint walked up onto the stage, Shadow also on his right. He ended up on the left of Tony, Shadow standing there with his head held high. Tony grinned as he turned towards the crazy reporters. "So let's do Introductions. To my right Is Steve Rogers with one of our newest teammates, Storm." He Introduced, Storm flicking an ear In his direction as his golden yellow eyes pierced Into the crowd. "And to my left we have Clint Barton with another of our newest teammates, Shadow." He motioned towards Clint with the black wolf with electric yellow eyes standing beside him. Reporters started to talk over each other, but quieter as Tony raised a hand. "Quiet, we'll get to questions later. We're not done yet, now are we?" He smirked, Steve and Clint stepped farther back, making Shadow and Storm sit. Back off stage near the front entrance, Natasha, Thor and Bruce stood around Ghost, waiting for Tony's signal. Natasha leaned down and unclasped her chain, wrapping It up In her hand. Tony turned towards the crowd with a smirk, before spinning on his heel and facing his left. His fingers went to his mouth before he let out an ear piercing whistle. Ghost's ears perked up, not hesitating before darting away from Natasha, Thor and Bruce and towards where the whistle came from. The reporters and press were shocked Into silence as a white wolf with aqua blue eyes darted from a platform near the entrance and onto the ground floor. Reporters shuffled back as the white wolf darted down the middle of the room. The wolf veered to the right, leaping up the stairs before darting towards Tony. Tony made a small motion with his hands. Ghost leapt up and towards his open arms, Tony's arms wrapping around the torso of the white wolf to support her weight as he shifted his footing so he didn't fall. Ghost rest a paw on his left shoulder, her head turning towards the press as Tony turned towards them. "And this, Is Ghost. Our lovely Alpha female." He announced, Ghost gave a small bark, startling the reporters. She nuzzled her head under Tony's chin, resting It against his neck. Thor, Bruce and Natasha finally walked onto stage, standing In the background as Clint and Steve walked forwards with Shadow and Storm again. Tony crouched down and placed Ghost on the ground as his arms started to become tired. She sat down by his left, still without a chain. He stood up straight, fixing his shirt. "And now, we'll finally take questions. Thor, Natasha and Bruce, get up here." He announced, making the other three Avengers step up and a Into the light. Reporters starting going crazy, shoving each other and pushing their mics and recorders forwards to try and get their questions answered. Tony looked around, picking out a blonde. "Hmm, you." The blonde looked up, shifting her stance before speaking. "Where did these dogs come from?" Tony looked to the others before answering. "That's confidential." He motioned to Steve to pick someone, Steve's blue eyes danced over the reporters before picking out a brunette male. "What do these animals do and what type of canine are they?" Steve thought for a few seconds before responding. "These three are wolves and they happen to do a lot. They'll be helping us out In the field." Storm gave a huff of agreement, sitting at Steve's right. Clint leaned down and unclipped Shadow's chain, looking to Steve. Steve also reached down and unclipped Storm's chain. Shadow stood up and trotted towards Ghost and Tony, Storm following suit. Shadow sat down beside Ghost while Storm sat at Tony's right. Ghost looked to Shadow and licked at his nose before turning back to the crowd. "Come on guys, no PDA." Tony whined, causing Ghost to look up at him In confusion. Tony's response made some laugh. Ghost flicked an ear before lowering herself Into a lay, blinking lazily at Tony before resting her head onto her paws. "Alright, one last question and then we'll be done." Tony announced. He picked out a random reporter, a snobby pale blonde, Ghost snorted at the sight of the reporter. "What can these mutts do? They just look like normal dogs to me, they don't even look like wolves." She scoffed, jutting one of her hips out as she crossed her arms over her chest. Ghost let out a low growl at the word "mutt", her fur bristling. "First off.. Kasandra, honey, lay off on the makeup. Makes you look like an old hag." Tony started, causing people to erupt Into laughter, some of the Avengers even snickering. "Second, these guys could do more than you could In your lifetime." He added on, causing the girl, Kasandra to gasp In shock and offense. "And I do believe you've Insulted our alpha female." Ghost gave a growl of agreement, standing up to her full height, which was just below Tony's hip. Ghost puffed up her fur to make her look even bigger, her teeth bared as she ran her tongue over her canines. Tony smirked, resting her hand on her head. "If I were you, I wouldn't make her mad." He looked down to Ghost. "Down." He whispered, Ghost huffed before laying back down beside his left foot. "And that was our third question, Time Is up. Let's go." Tony grinned, stepping back from the mic. "Heel." He Instructed Ghost, who stood up and backed up so she was right beside him. Clint called Shadow and Steve called Storm, getting them to heel. Tony began walking off the stage, Clint and Steve following. Thor, Natasha and Bruce following behind them. Guards stood ready to make sure the world famous heroes made It safely to their car.
What a crazy day It was for them, from Clint being bait to an, unusually somewhat tame press conference.
A/N Holy hell, this was originally written March 22nd, 2018. So months back. I just now reread It and edited It a bit. So now, the world knows of the Avengers' new wolves. What does this mean for the wolves and HYDRA? I guess we may never know, unless, there ends up being another oneshot!
Anyways, have a good day/night! <3
