Tegan
I stopped. Too scared to speak.
"L-leah!" I shout as Leah had kept walking, with not a care in the world.
"Hmm? She responds not looking back.
"No Leah you have to listen! Sarah has been hanged!" I shout racing towards Leah to stop her from walking.
Leah looks around and gives me a puzzled look.
"What are you talking about?" Leah laughs.
I run back to Sarah's still body and tap her knee. To my surprise, my hand passes through her, I cant feel her at all! I touch her hair. My hair passes right through her head. I gasp.
"Leah, w-whats happening!" I shout, trying desperately to think of something that could explain this. I grab the rope. It was real. So why wasn't Sarah? The 20 foot high glass ceiling made it hard to see where the rope was connected. I could see very faintly, that the rope was attached to a small hook. I tried desperately to untie the rope from Sarah's delicate neck, but it was no use. Sarah's lifeless body rocked back and forth, the rope ever strong.
Leah gently guided me away.
"I think you'd better go see Sunshine." Leah said calmly, her hair turning an electric shade of purple.
"No! We must save Sarah! We cant let her die!" I shout and struggle as Leah pulled me past the last door, the red door.
Leah stopped.
"Don't you get it Tegan? Sarah has not been hanged! What you just saw was a hallucination! Most people that come to this Mental Asylum see these all the time. Now just relax, I'll walk you to Sunshine's office." Leah said.
I put on my bravest smile. But inside, I was breaking down. And fast.
"No, you go off with your friends, I think I can find it myself." I say, trying my hardest not to cry.
"Well, if that's what you want." Shrugs Leah and she walks off, down the hall.
I take one last glance at Sarah's fading body, the rope still tight around her neck.
I back away, then break into a run.
I was determined to get the fuck out of there. And fast.
