Sent to the black room

"I am so sorry... Sarah left me behind." I mumbled.

Sunshine laughed, her eyes twinkling with happiness. She grabbed me gently by the shoulders and looked deep into my eyes. I returned the stare coldly.

"See me after class. I have someone that wants to see you."

I felt like slapping he across the face with all my might, stomping on her, then throwing her out of the 2 story high window.

But I couldn't, not with my life and many others at stake.

I nodded quietly and went inside to sit down.

The blue room was very different to what the Green room had been.

The blue room had chipped, holey walls, rotting floor boards and dim light. The windows were barred with metal, the room with barely any furniture.

As I went to sit down next to Ava, I saw Sarah sitting alone on a table with four chairs. Ava saw where I was looking and said "Don't bother sitting with her, she needs time."

"Don't we all?" I snapped. "She wasn't the only one who lost a friend. You, Leah, Carrie, Sarah and I all lost someone we knew. Jayda was our leader, the mother of the group. She was the level headed, calm one of the dorm. We all miss her not just her."

Ava looked at me. "She lost two people, not just one."

I looked at her in disbelief. "Who?"

"Asia. This is the reason we are in the blue room- the room of sadness. Sunshine called us in here to mention some news about Asia."

I groaned and banged my head repeatedly on the table.

Sunshine looked up sharply from the smashed up desk.

"Smile, Tegan, Smile!" she chuckled.

Before I could retort, she stood up abruptly, pulled back her chair and cleared her throat.

everyone went mute. Just like that. It just showed how much control Sunshine had over us.

All obedient eyes were on Sunshine.

Sunshine waited for a few seconds, to make sure everyone had her attention, then spoke.

"Stand up Khloe." Sunshine smiled, pointing directly at a girl in the front row. Khloe was as thin as a stick. She had faint blue streaks in her hair and starlight blue eyes. Her whole face indicated sadness, but she smiled anyway.

She stood up slowly, a confused look racing onto her face. Her metal chair scraping against the floor echoed loudly.

"Now," Continued Sunshine with a look of pure cheerfulness. "Count how many students are inside the classroom."

Khloe walked over next to Sunshine and started to count.

"39 students miss." replied Khloe, meekly.

"Leah is at the Black Room, but as you can see, we are missing 2 people." Sunshine laughed.

Carrie and I exchanged glances. "What in the actual fuck, is she laughing for!" Carrie hissed angrily. "Boy, would I love to smack her with a pole!" I replied, poison covering every inch of my feelings.

"Those two people that are missing are Jayda and Asia. Sadly, last night I had found that they had both made a plan to escape, and their plan was successful. But as we all know, if someone from here escapes back to the cruel world, what happens to them?"

"They die." Khloe whispered.

Sunshine smirked at Khloe. "They What?"

"They die miss, they die." Khloe stuttered.

"Good girl Khloe," Sunshine said, beaming magnificently at the terrified Khloe. "You may sit down."

I had never seen anyone sit down so fast in all of my life.

Another girl I did not know, raised her hand reluctantly.

"Yes Rose?" Sunshine answered.

"S-so are Jayda and Asia dead?" Rose asked, her eyes the picture of terror.

"Yes indeed! how could I let them get away from such a bad crime!?" Sunshine shouted with unexpected enthusiasm.

Ava and I exchanged glances of pure grief and hatred.

But out of the corner of my eye I could see Sarah tensing horrifically. I turned my head to see Sarah's face turning red with anger, the faint blue streaks in her hair had turned the colour of a flame.

She stood up so fast, her chair tipped over, clattering loudly on the rotting floor boards.

"How could you." Sarah hissed in a low, growling voice.

Sunshine looked at her sharply, her eyes turning from warm, kind, to ice cold.

"You have something to say Sarah?" Sunshine questioned, folding her arms of her scrawny chest.

"You killed her, YOU KILLED THEM!" Sarah's eyes were a warm red. She gripped the thin metal table tightly, her knuckles turning white.

Sunshine walked over to Sarah and put her hands on Sarah's bony shoulders, squeezing them hard.  Sunshine looked directly into Sarah's eyes, staring her down.

"Sarah, darling, they deserved it. They broke the rules, therefore they were punished it. We cant let them get away with a thing like that, can we?" Sunshine whispered slyly.

Sarah hesitated shakily. Then, strangely, Sarah's eyes glazed over, giving them a smooth white/blue colours.

"Yes Sunshine, I agree." Sarah spoke, her voice cracking sharply.

"That's my good girl!" Sunshine chuckled, ushering Sarah back into her seat.

But I was stunned. That was not Sarah that had spoken.. It was Amy.
