Jayda's last words

"Tegan?"

I looked up sharply to see Sunshine standing directly infront of me.

Everyone had left the room, including a stunned Sarah. I was kept behind.

"Amy wants to see you, in the black room." Sunshine whispered.

I dare not obey Sunshine's demand.

I quickly hopped up from my seat, and race out the door. The Blue room was one of the closest rooms to the Black room, making it a shorter trip for me. I walked slowly, taking my time. The white walls reminded me of something but I couldn't think what of. I felt strangely more happy as I passed the Sunshine's Entry sign that swayed in the light breeze the filled the corridor.

"Hey whats up Tegan?" someone calls behind me, coming up and putting there hand on my back.

"Jayda?" I cried in disbelief.

"Hm?" she replied.

"But your dead? aren't you?" I rasped, a lump tightening in my throat. A few days back I thought, we all thought, that we would never see Jayda again. I reached out to hug, her hold her tight, never letting her go, but my hands slided right through her.

"Yes, Tegan, I am dead. This will be the last time you will ever see me in full." Jayda half smiled.

"Y-your a hallucination!" I whispered, sobs threatening to escape. I covered my face with my hands. I couldn't believe what was happening.

"Yes I am. But this is not why I came to talk to you. I came to talk to you, to tell you what happened, explain everything." Jayda whispered.

There Jayda was, looking so real! But I knew better.

"Jayda why? Why can you never come back? Just come back as a hallucination." I pleaded hopelessly.

"I cant, this is the only time Amy will ever let me see you. Then I will become one of them." Jayda replied, smiling sadly at me.

"One of what?" I questioned, trying to wipe my tears away to clear my vision.

"I'll become another replica."

I stared. Nothing, not one thing ever made sense. It was all so unreal, all so fake.

"I saw you die." I confessed suddenly.

"I know. I saw you there too. Why didn't you save me?" Jayda asked, a smile still frozen on her pale cream coloured lips.

"No no no! I was not there! It was just a hallucination. Everything is Jayda! Nothing here is real. Everyone here is fucked in the head. I am too. We are all traumatized and not one person can think straight. Everything we do is unreal. Sunshine is brainwashing us!" I rant, exasperated.

"That's where your wrong," Jayda sighed dramatically. "Sunshine is not 'brainwashing' us, she is improving us, help us forget our problems. She is replacing them with new, happy thoughts, so that we can become better people. We are disciplined fairly and deserved to be punished if we do something bad."

Jayda had recited everything, as if reciting a rule book. It was all in monotone.

But Jayda was brainwashed, I knew I was not going to get any sense out of her.

And I did something I knew I was going to regret.

"Jayda, I have an appointment with Amy. I have to go." I say, nervously backing away from the hallucination.

"Bye bye." she replied sadly, giving me one last stare, walking away down the hall in the opposite direction.

That was the last time, I ever saw Asia.

"Tegan?"

"Hey Amy, Sunshine told me you had an appointment with me."

"I need to talk to you."
