They had a past in which both of them had since nearly forgotten. The fact that their mother was gone, and that their father couldn't make up his mind on whether he was going to be sober or not, had impacted them and their childhood greatly.

One day he'd be drunk out of his mind and the next he'd be high on weed, either way he made their lives a living hell, as they were often dragged into his problems.

Having grown up the siblings had vowed to one another, that they would never turn out like their father.

However Mario broke that promise.

It happened when his sister, Captain Gabriella Savetti deployed for the first time as a Doctor stationed at a base in Bagram.

Now to move on to the story

It was late at night, one early November day in LA, and the small white flecks of snow could be seen all around.

Mario Savetti had just gotten to work at 6pm two hours prior.

Gabriella having gotten back from her deployment hadn't seen her brother and wasn't truly in any rush to do so either. What she did do was that she spent so much time working towards becoming a firefighter, and when she did, she was also one who was also certified in medicine and could provide medical attention when need.

She spent that night to at work like her brother serving the city of LA, but for her in a more dangerous way that included running into burning buildings when others were running from them.

She lie on her bed, in which were assigned by shift waiting for a call that snowy evening.

"Ambulance 16, Truck 18, Squad 30 multiple vehicle pile up multiple injuries, LA freeway" the alarm rings.

"Gear up" The chief yelled hopping into his battalion vehicle.

Gabriella was a firefighter, under the order of Lieutenant Oliver Smith, who was the Lieutenant of Squad 30.

"What do we got Bulkley" Oliver yells to one of the crew belonging to Trucks company. Fink has just walked over in Squads direction.

"It's bad we have one pinned by the light pole and it's sparking with electricity jolts. We have to be careful" Buckley says leading Oliver and Gabriella in the direction of the victim.

"Gabby I need your medical opinion here can she be saved?" Oliver asks Gabriella. She walks over to the care taking a closer look.

"She'd be a yellow tag" Gabriella says standing up from where she was kneeling beside the car and victim.

And that's when the pole hits her, literally and knocking her to the ground.

"Savetti" Oliver yells running over to her.

"Ollie, I really can't breathe it hurts so bad" Gabby cry's out.

Her chest was rising in falling, but not as people's would normally do. It looked like what it would be to be shaken.

"Hen we need a C-collar, and backboard now" Oliver yells to a paramedic on scene.

"On my count, 1, 2, 3" Hen says as they move Gabriella onto a backboard.

"Load her up" Hen's partner Chimney says as they load her up.

"Freemen, your active Lieutenant till I get back, I'm riding with" Oliver says hoping in the back of the ambulance.

"We need to get her a blanket as soon as we get to Angels, her temperatures dropped a bit" Hen says causing Oliver to remove his turnout jacket and drape it over her.

"What do we got" Leanne asks.

"32 year female, Gabriella Savetti, a firefighter knocked to the ground by a fallen power line while on call" Oliver informs the doctors.

"Did you say Savetti?" Noa Kean, a ED doctor asks looking at Oliver who had just spoken.

"Yes" Oliver bluntly replies.

"She needs a chest ultrasound and x-ray stat" Leanne says taking the C-collar of Gabriella.

"She's pregnant" Oliver says raising alarm for Leanne.

"Page OBGYN have them set her up with  a fetal monitor. Guys she's 37 weeks along how the hell was she still working? Once she has the fetal monitor move her up stairs to recovery and keep her under a close watch" Leanne says.

"What's going on" Mario asks when he enters center stage, "oh my god that's, that's my baby sister. What happened to her"

"Get her outta here" Leanne instructs Noa.

"Noa what's wrong with her" Mario asks.

"Can I go with" Oliver asks.

"Who the hell are you" Mario asks Oliver anger and frustration in his voice.

"I'm her boyfriend, Oliver Smith Lieutenant of Squad 30 in which she is a member of" Oliver says.

"She's pregnant" Mario says baffled at Noa's news.

He walks into the room where is sister is out, unconscious since being hit by the pole. 

And then that's the moment she has a seizer.

"Push Ativan" Mario says as a nurse pushes the needle into the IV attached to Gabriella's arm.

"What happened" Gabby asks waking up.

"Mario her water broke" Noa says informing him of his sisters new state.

"Wait I'm not ready to have this baby, not now, I was just on call, how did I even get here" Gabby asks.

"Ellie Gabellie, calm down I'll be with you every step of the way" Mario says leaning down to where his face, and head were the same height and level to his sisters as they interlocked hands. "Noa go get Dr. Pinkney and tell her to be ready to help deliver a baby"

"Alright, be right back" Noa says leaving to go get Heather.

That's when Gabby is hit with a painful contraction.

"Hey look at me, your gonna be just fine just keep breathing slowly in and out, in and out " Mario says as his hand is squeezed very hard by his sister.

"Who's this Pinkney" Gabriella asks trying to keep her breathing steady and equal.

"Try to relax honey" a nurse says having took notice to the spike in the women's heart rate

"She's a good friend, Heather is someone I trust and I'm gonna need you to trust me, and her, ok?" Mario says.

"Mario I'm sorry I didn't see you after I got back, I just didn't know how to tell you" Gabriella says as she is hit with another contraction.

"Right now let's worry about you having your baby" Mario says as Heather enters the room with two others.

"Dr. Dixon, Dr. Kean who I think you already met. They will be assisting me in your baby's delivery." Heather says walking over to Gabby.

"Sugar Bear, do an ultrasound" Heather instructs.

"Do you know the gender" Mario asks.

"No we don't" Oliver says entering the room.

"Sir you have to leave" Dr. Dixon says.

"Elliot, he's cool, Oliver he's her boyfriend" Mario says.

"Do you wanna know the gender" Heather asks.

"Let's wait" Oliver responds.

"Guys Gabriella she tore her biceps tendon" Leanne says poking her her into the room.

"I know what that means" Gabby says looking at Oliver starting to cry.

"Babe I'm sorry" Ollie remarks as Gabriella has another contraction.

"What do you plan on naming your baby if it's a girl" Mario asks trying to start a conversation.

"Lola" Gabriella says.

"And if it's a boy" Dr. Dixon asks.

"We were gonna name him after his Uncle, his name would be Mario Savetti-Smith" Oliver says.

It had been 9 months since Mario had seen Gabriella for the first time since she had gotten back from Bagram and helped her bring her baby girl into the world.

Her injury, the one to her arm made it to where she couldn't be a firefighter anymore.

She could have been a paramedic, but she was ashamed. She didn't want her friends at the firehouse to see her every single day, and with the fact that she knew she did this to herself. That she knew it was her fault she could never work squad again.

That said she had the education and proper paper work and practice information so she signed up to work at Angles alongside her brother.

"That was one hell of a day to have as  my first day" Gabriella says as Mario holds the door for her to exit before him.

2 weeks later.

Gabriella had a rough day. Mario too. But to both of there Luck it was 6am and the end of their shift.

Gabriella had gone to her car, her blue Porsche and gotten in speeding off to her house.

She gets there, and when she walks in she sees Oliver in the kitchen making brunch.

"Gabriella we need to talk" Oliver says when she finally settles in on the couch with baby Lola.

"Yeah?" She asks questioningly.

"I'm moving to Florida to take a battalion job, I'm sorry but for it's for the best we break up, you can keep Lola" He responds as Gabriella tears up "I'm sorry"

"I'm gonna go stay with someone while you get your shit together and realize what your doing is fucked up. And then make you suffer when you try crawling back to me." Gabby cries as she heads to the bedroom to pack her bag.

She grabs some of the stuff for the baby and heads out.

"Hello" Angus answers the unknown number.

"Hey, it's Gabriella, Can Lola and I stay with you" Gabby asks pain and panic tone in her voice.

That vibe being obvious to Angus.

"Uhh yeah what's wrong?" Angus asks.

"I don't wanna talk about it" Gabriella responds.

She's driving towards Angus' house and pulls into the driveway.

Oliver = O; Gabriella = G

O : Gabby I'm sorry.

G : Ollie as much as I love you I don't buy it.

O : Gabby if you loved me you'd understand, you'd be happy for me and offer to move with me, marry me and stay home and raise our kids. Besides we both know Buckley likes you and you like him.

G : Is that your way of saying you believe all women are supposed to be house wives and baby makers. Cause this baby I didn't want but was willing to have for you, for us. So Ollie thanks for screwing me over, I really appreciate it.

"Who you texting" Angus asks noticing the angry, annoyed and shocked facial expressions the younger Savetti was making.

"Ollie he's being a dick" Gabby confesses.

"I texted Mario. He's worried about you, he loves you" Angus confesses himself.

"Angus, I have a huge favor to ask, can you watch Lora while I take some time. I'm gonna go visit a friend" Gabriella asks.

"Where you going?" Angus asks.

"Chicago" Gabriella responds.
