**"No! No mommy nooooo! You know I am scared of the dark. How am I gonna sleep at night? **

**"You are strong baby. I know you are. You are my brave little girl, a princess who will take care of the kingdom until the queen returns. Hmmm?" She said while smiling and wiping some tears away.

"Now will you do that sweetie? There will be bad bad strangers and monsters, but I want you to remember what I said to you today until we meet again. If someone bad comes into the house, go into the small hiding hole I showed you alright? And no crying until everyone is gone or aunt May comes to get you. Deal? "**

**"Yes if the queen insist", I giggled." I love you mommy. You will be back, right? Pinky promise? "**

**"Yes my princess, pinky promise"**

She was smiling even though the tears were evidently visible in her eyes and dripping down her pink cheeks. She was smiling, but for some reason she was crying. She is just going to take care of some business isn't it? Why is she crying then?

Maybe she is scared to sleep alone too, just like me.

"I love you my angel"

The last words I heard from her before she disappeared into the night after leaving me in a house, a pretty house. A big and pretty house.

"I love you too mommy", I wonder if she heard it. Hmmmm.

This house, it was empty and looked kind of boring. The only person in here beside me was my mommy's servant who is also my nanny. Hmmm. Atleast she will be beside me at night.

"Come here Ara, let's go inside. It's time to sleep now", aunt May is trying to get me inside.

My name is Aurora, Aurora Williams. But everyone calls me Ara because Aurora is a bit long. I call my nanny aunt May because she has been so close to me and my mommy all my life, which is five years still for me, but longer for mommy.

"Ok aunt May, will mommy be back tomorrow? " I asked smiling wide.

"I am not sure about tomorrow my princess, but I am sure she will come back soon" she said smiling, but there was a lot of sorrow mixed in her smile. Even though I was small, I could see it. I shrugged it off and followed her into my room, my new room.

"Let's get you into bed now shall we? " aunt May tucked me into bed.

"Bedtime story first", I said giggling. "Please aunt May".That sure did the trick.

"Alright then. I'll go get a book. You want a princess story? " she asked smiling. But still, there was a dash of sorrow mixed in her smile.

"Yes please" I said. Smiling of course.

Aunt May went out. Crash! And a lot of noise. Screams! Aunt May! Aunt May is screaming and crying.

"Where is the girl?! I asked you once. Tell me before I kill you like a dog, would you like that? Tell me what you choose; Your life, or being loyal to your madam whom I killed on my way here? Hahahahaha" said the voice of a man whom i recognize.

He laughed such a horrible laugh. It is horrifying. I am scared. Killed? Whom did he kill? But mommy says that killing is a big sin, and never should be done to anyone. Why has he killed someone then? Is he a bad man?

I got off my bed and to my door. I peeked through the door and there he was downstairs with my aunt May kneeling on the floor crying. Oh aunt May, don't cry. He wasn't alone, there are so many men with him. They had guns in their hand. Bad men. Bad men! But wait, that is uncle Feng. A uncle that worked with my dad and mommy before.

"Nooooo!!" aunt May's screams shook me out of my thoughts.

"You think that I, I would tell a monster like you where that innocent girl is? Tell you what, she is not here. I don't know where she is. You will not find her here. Now go. If you want, kill me. I will never tell you where she is even if I did know. So it's of no use, so please leave. Now! "Aunt May said to the bad man, shakily.

"Well, then I guess I'll find out myself" he said and turned to his men, "Go check every room in the house. Kill her as soon as you see her. I don't want to be her killer. Poor little girl, she has to suffer just because her parents wouldn't listen to me. Hahahhahahaa. Life life life. Now go!" He screamed out.

I closed the door. They are after me. The bad man said he killed aunt May's madam, does it mean that he killed mommy? Will he kill me too? Will he kill aunt May?

"Don't! I told you! She Is Not Here" I am sure aunt May said it through gritted teeth.

I can hear footsteps coming closer and closer. I have to hide. I am small, I can hide. I am strong I am strong I am strong. I am mommy's princess. I can do this. I found the nearest hiding place only I could get into, the hiding hole that mommy showed me before she left. I got in. Now I should not make a sound, no matter what. Footsteps are just outside my door, I'm sure of that. Be a good girl, be silent I said to myself.

"No! Don't go into the rooms! I told you she is not here! " I could hear aunt May screaming. Her screams were now hopeless, they sounded sad and...... lifeless.

"Shoot her. She is shouting too much"

*bang. Bang. Bang*

One last scream of pain was all I heard from aunt May. Even though I was small, I understood it was something bad. They are coming inside. I must not cry, I said to myself inside my head over and over again.

They are inside now. Looking into every thing they can find which is large enough to hide. My hiding hole was very well camouflaged. They won't find me.

"She is not in here either" one man shouted out to the bad man downstairs.

"Isn't she? Oh well, we will find out soon enough. Leaving. Now! " the bad man screamed out of anger.

I stayed here for a long time, long enough to be sure that the bad men were gone.

I slowly came out of my hiding hole and looked at my room. All messed up and ugly, everything was on the floor. Bad men. Aunt May! I have to see her, I hope she is okay.

I opened the door and looked down stairs. Oh no! No no no! Aunt May, she is in a pool of red blood. She is sleeping, is she dead?

"Aunt May?", that was my first attempt to find out.

"Aunt May?", I said again. This time a little louder. I have to go to her and find out. Slowly I went down the stairs to where aunt May was. The place smelled bad, like blood. Ewwww. But I have to help aunt May.

I kneeled where aunt May was unconscious. I touched her face softly. She had cried alot. "Aunt May? Please wake up. Don't leave me. You are the only one I have now. I am scared of the dark. Please" I sobbed out.

"Ara?" Aunt may spoke. She spoke!

"Ara, please say this is true. Where are they? They didn't find you right?" Aunt may asked silently. Her voice was tired and faint.

"I was hiding in that place mommy showed me. They came into the room and left. They have gone. Did they hurt you? Are you okay? Should I call someone, I....

"Shhhhhh. Ara, listen now baby. They will be back. They are bad bad men. They are after you to hurt you." Her voice is getting weaker and weaker. She coughed out blood, she is breathing harder now. More like trying to breathe.
"Ara you have to get out of this place, okay? Be a good girl, be strong and run away as fast as you can. I love you baby. You will find mommy. There are many bad people, but now you have to find your way. Run until you find a city and when you see a nice aunt, ask for the police. When you meet them, say your name alright? They will take care of you." She said slowly, taking breaks between words. She sound tired.

"What will happen to you aunt May? Will you be alright? You know I am scared of the dark.. " I sobbed out.

"Shhhh baby. I will sleep, I will be alright. I am too tired to stay awake. You have to be a good girl and do what I said. And don't ever come here again alright? Be safe my little princess. I. Love. You. Ara. Be. Safe.... " she said. The last words she spoke before she closed her eyes.
