Chapter 2

Mentions of torture, describes some of the torment in details.

I ran around Crocodile's office, grabbing any important file and stowing it away.

"Room booked, office straightened, and clothes packed. All I need is Crocodile." I said as I clapped my hands together.

"What do you need me for?" A deep voice asked from behind me.

I let out a squeak and spun around to see Crocodile smiling down at me, a smirk on his face.

"Don't do that! You scared the hell out of me!"

"Sorry, it was just to hard to pass up."

"You're such a pain." I growled as I glared up at him.

He let out a chuckle as he blew smoke into my face. I coughed and swatted it away, as he walked past me.

"I was saying that I have everything ready for our trip." I explained as I fanned the air.

"Good, though I don't remember inviting you." He said as he raised an eyebrow.

"Have you forgotten that Robin is wanted by the marines?"

"Miss All Sunday."

"Robin is her birth name and is easier to pronounce." I said as I set on the edge of his desk.

He rolled his eyes and took another hit of his cigar.

"If you are going to go with me, then I am going to be giving you some rules."

"I wouldn't expect it any other way." I teased.

He rose to his feet, towering over me. He slowly raised his book to my chin and forced me to meet his gaze.

"Three rules, follow them and you won't be punished. Do you understand?"

"Yes, sir." I breathed out.

"You are to stay with me at all times."

I gave a nod as I dug my nails into my thigh, his hook digging into my neck a little.

"You are to not talk to any one. If they ask you a question then I will answer it. Are we clear?"

"What's the third rule?"

"Doflamingo is to be ignored. Don't look at him, don't talk to him, he doesn't exist. If he try's to touch you, then you are to move away from him." He growled out.

"But isn't it rude to not say hell-"

He cut me off by pushing my back into his desk, causing a gasp to leave my lips.

"I am not joking. Doflamingo is a pain in my ass, I don't want you anywhere near him."

"Alright, I'll stay away from him. I promise." I said with a sigh.

"Good girl. Perhaps if you behave I'll reward you."

"And if I don't?" I teased with a raised eyebrow.

"Then I'll have to turn you over my knee."

As tempting as it sounded I decided that it as best to not piss him off. So when we arrived, I stayed right beside him. I kept my clipboard to my chest and my eyes on the ground.

"Well well, seems Crocodile has finally arrived." A cheerfully voice exclaimed. "And he has brought a beautiful woman with him."

"Doflamingo don't you have a criminal empire to run? Why are you here?" Crocodile growled as he took his spot at the table.

"Don't be such a bore. I was simply asking about the pretty lady."

"She is non of your concern. Act like she isn't even here."

"Love, if you need a seat my lap is fre-"

Before he could finish speaking Crocodile's had had gripped my wrist, and with a sharp pull I was on his lap. A squeak left my lips as I closed my legs and positioned myself between his legs.

"If you like keeping your head, then you will learn to stay away from things that aren't yours." Crocodile hissed as his grip tightened on me.

Doflamingo let out a loud laugh, which seemed to make my heart stop. I slowly leaned into Crocodile's embrace, hiding my head in his chest. The meeting started and I noticed that Crocodile looked pissed, his hand on my waist was digging inside, most likely leaving a bruise.

"Crocodile, we need to speak in private." One of the marines said with a frown.

I felt him tense up, even though his face showed no emotions.

"Fine, but she comes-"

"When I say in private I mean in private. I just need you inside."

"It's alright, I'll be fine sir." I said as I rose to my feet.

"Yes do leave, it will give me the chance I need to steal your pretty little assistant." Doflamingo teased.

Crocodile's eyes narrowed and I saw him turn to look at, who I could only figure to be, Doflamingo.

"Go, I'll keep him away from her." Another voice said breaking Crocodile's gaze.

We both turned to see a man wearing a red coat, his hat covering his eyes and his feet sitting in the table.

"Mihawk, why would you care about watching my assistant?" Crocodile growled out.

"I don't, but I do want this meeting over. So go, the girl will be safe with me." He said as he raised his hat a little, revealing his yellow hawk eyes.

Crocodile gave a nod and motioned for me to sit beside Mihawk, which I gladly did. I set down as Crocodile left the room, leaving me alone with the warlords.

"Now that he is go-"

Doflamingo was cut off by Mihawk's sword slamming down between us.

"I do believe I said that I'd keep the girl away from you." Mihawk stated as he shot him a glare.

"Come now, I simply wish to talk to her."

"I don't care. Leave her be." Mihawk ordered as he set up.

Doflamingo rolled his eyes and let out a huff and sulked in his chair. Mihawk shook his head and looked back at me.

"Tell me, how did someone like you come to work for a warlord?"

"Um... he sort of saved my life." I explained as I put my hands in my lap.

"Crocodile saved your life?" Mihawk asked with a frown.

I gave a nod and he let out a chuckle.

"How peculiar. I wonder why he would save you? Perhaps he wasn't actually wanting you as an assistant." He said as he raised an eyebrow.

"What are you insinuating?" I asked with a frown.

"I believe he thinks of you as more than an assistant."

"That is ridiculous."

"Perhaps." He said as he picked up his wine and downed it. "Or perhaps I see more than you do, (Y/n)."

I heard footsteps and turned to see Crocodile walk into the room. His eyes landed on me and he gave a motion to the door. I quickly rose to my feet and hid farewell to Mihawk. I rushed behind Crocodile, passing Doflamingo. Right as I made it past Doflamingo I felt something come into contact with my ass. I jumped and let out a squeak, right as Crocodile grabbed me and pulled me to his side.

"I'll kill-"

"Enough! All of you! There will be no fighting! Crocodile leave, and take the girl with you!" The marine ordered.

Crocodile's eyes met Doflamingo's, who had a giant grin on his face. Without so much as another word Crocodile dragged me out of the room. The whole way to our hotel, he didn't say a word. His hand in my thigh was squeezing my tightly and he was keeping me close to him. Anytime someone so much as looked in our direction he was glaring at them.

"Sir-"

"Not now." He snapped.

I have a nod and stared at the ground as my face heated up. It was clear he was angry, and I didn't want to gain his wrath. We made it to the hotel and he roughly took our key from the clerk. He led me to our room and dragged me inside. When we made it inside he finally released me, allowing me to take a step back. I looked around the room and was prepared to plop down on my bed, but found that the room only had one bed.

"Sir, it seems they gave us the wron-"

"Did I not tell you to stay away from Doflamingo?" He growled out.

My heart stopped and I took a step back.

"I'm sorry sir, I swear I hadn't been thinking when I walked past-"

He roughly gripped my neck, backing me into the wall. I let out a gasp and stared up at him, sadness coursing thru me.

"Don't lie to me. You wanted his attention, didn't you!" He hissed as he dug his nails into my neck.

"No! I promise-"

His eyes narrowed and he cut me off by tightening his grip, making it hard to breath.

"I'm sorry." I whined as I felt tears stream down my face.

His eyes softened and he quickly loosened his grip, letting out a sigh as he moved his hand to my cheek.

"No, I'm sorry. This is on me. I should never of allowed you to come." He said as he rubbed his face. "I'm sorry for scaring you."

"Crocodile, you don't scare me."

His eyes slowly opened and he stared down at me.

"I know that you should scare me, you're a warlord after all. But you don't... you make me feel safe." I explained as my cheeks turned bright red.

"I'm glad." He said as he cuffed my cheeks.,

My heart skipped a beat as we locked eyes. Crocodile slowly leaned down and I shut my eyes. I thought that he was going to kiss me, but instead he kissed the top of my forehead.

"You should get some sleep. We have a long journey back home." He said as he ruffled my hair.

"What about you?" I whispered as I stared up at him.

"I'll sleep on the way back."

I puffed out my cheeks and placed my hands on my hips.

"I won't go to bed unless you're sleeping next to me. That bed is big enough for the both of us."

"Very well."

He picked me up and I let out a squeak. He threw me down onto the bed before he worked on removing his shirt, when he seemed to struggle with.

"Allow me to help." I said as I set up.

I stood up on my knees and reached forward, my hands shaking as I unbuttoned his shirt.

"If you wanted to undress me you could of said so." He teased.

"That isn't what I'm doing! I'm just helping!" I hissed as my face flushed.

"Maybe you'll allow me the honors of helping you undress one day."

"Never in a million years, you pervert."

He let out a laugh, which caused my heart to skip a beat. My hands instantly stopped working on his shirt and I stared up at him.

"What's with that look?"

"It's nothing, I just like your laugh." I explained as I sent him a smile.

His face went red and he quickly looked away from me and cleared his throat.

"We should get some sleep. We have to be up early in the morning." He mumbled as he looked away from me.

I finished unbuttoning his shirt, my heart racing as I thought about running my fingers up and down his chest. I quickly brushed the thought away as I plopped down on the bed. I rolled over to give him room, which seemed to be pointless as he put his arms around me and pulled me to his chest. A small smile spread across my face as I buried my face into his chest, my eyes slowly starting to close as he pulled me closer.

The next morning I woke up and found Crocodile fast asleep, his arms lazily wrapped around my waist. I wiggled out of his grip and set up, a yawn slipping from my lips as I stretched my arms.

"Lazy arse." I thought as I stared down at him.

Something I had learned about Crocodile was that he would sleep all day if he was allowed to. The man normally didn't get a chance to sleep in, so I didn't think it would hurt to allow him to sleep a little longer.

A small smile graced my face as I set up and watched his chest move up and down. Crocodile always looked so relaxed when he was sleeping. It was almost hard to believe that he was a warlord. My hand slowly reached forward and I traced the scar across his face, causing his nose to scrunch up. I let out a giggle and shook my head as I climbed out of bed.

I snuck out of the room and held back a laugh as I left to grab us some food and coffee, but the laugh was cut short as a pair of arms grabbed me from behind. My capture pressed a cloth against my lips and nose, and before I knew it everything went dark. When I came to I found myself tied to a chair.

"Where am I?" I thought as I looked around the room.

I heard a door open and my head quickly snapped to the side. I turned and froze up as I saw a strange man walk into the room. He had his face completely covered and he was walking with a limp.

"So you're Crocodile's Slut." He hissed out.

"I'm just an assista-"

"Shut up!" He yelled cutting me off.

He walked up to me and knelt down in front of me, a sinister smile on his face.

"Look beautiful, I don't want to hurt you. All I want is to know about Croco." He said as he tiled his head to the side.

"He hates to be called Croco." I hissed as I spit on his face.

A ear piercing laugh left his lips as he whipped the spit away. Within seconds he had pulled his hand back and slapped my across the face. My cheek stung as his hand moved to grip my chin.

"Listen here you sack of shit. Either you tell me what I want to know, or I'll be sending you back to Crocodile in a body bag."

"I'd rather die than betray him." I said as I dug my nails into the arm of the chair.

I didn't want to die, I wanted to live but I knew that I couldn't betray Crocodile. I'd never forgive myself if I told them something about him and they used it against him. So I stayed quiet, as they hit and beat me to near unconsciousness. After what felt like days I found that I could barely move, let alone open my eyes.

"Are you going to tell me what I want to know now?" My torturer hissed out.

"G.. o.. to... he-"

Smack!

My head turned to the side and I spit out the blood that had appeared. My head went limp and my eyes stung from the tears. I heard screaming and slowly looked up to see the man rug to the door.

"What the hell is-"

A grunt cut him off as a wave of sand shot thru the door throwing him across the room. I couldn't help but to smile as I saw Crocodile stomp into the room, his eyes full of rage.

"How!? There is no way you were able to find us this qui-"

Crocodiles used his hook to pierce the guy thru the chest, cutting him off.

"I thought I made it clear, no one will ever harm (Y/n) while I breath." Crocodiles growled as the men fell to the ground.

Crocodile spit on his dead body before walking up to me. As soon as our eyes met he stopped. His eyes softened and I watched as he used his shirt to clean the blood off of his hook. He knelt down and gently cuffed my cheeks.

"I am so sorry." He whispered as he cut me free.

I pushed myself forward, going limp in his arms as he pulled me to his chest.

"I didn't tell them anything! I didn't betray-"

"Shh Shh it's okay. I know darling, I know." He whispered as he rubbed my back.

I let out a sob as I clung to him, pulling him to me as I cried into his chest. I felt his arms go under me and then he was lifting me up. I buried my face into his chest as I held back another sob.

"I promise I'll never let you out if my sight again." He whispered as he kissed the top of my forehead.

My eyes fluttered close as he carried me out of the room, and past a group of dead bodies. I found myself falling fast asleep as we left the building and started back home.

When I came too I found that I had been bandaged and cleaned up. I no longer had blood or dirt on me.

"You're awake, good." A deep voice said from beside me.

My eyes fluttered open as I turned to look up at Crocodile who was sitting in a chair beside my bed.

"How... long have I been out?" I grumbled out.

"Two days. They did quite a number on you." He whispered as he gently squeezed my hand.

A sharp pain hit me as I closed my eyes. I moved my hand up to my head and laid back against my pillow.

"My head hurts."

"That's probably because of the concussion they gave you. Don't worry the doctor told me that within a week you will be back to normal." He explained as he brought my hand to his lips and gently kissed it.

"I can pack my belongings then."

"Why would you need to pack your things?" Crocodile asked with a frown.

"Because you're going to fire me... right?"

"No, why would I fire you?"

"I let them kidnap me."

"(Y/n), this isn't on you. It's on me. I should have been watching you closer and for that I'm sorry. But from this moment in you won't be out of my sight. I promise I will never allow them or anyone else to hurt you again." He said as his eyes narrowed.

"So... I'm not fired?"

"Of course you're not. If I fired you then who would I have to sit on my lap and look pretty? We both know Miss All Sunday won't do it." He said with a chuckle.

"True, Robin would rather die." I said as I let out a laugh.

A sharp pain cut off my laughter, forcing a wave of groans to leave my lips.

"Easy, don't over do it." He whispered as he rushed forward.

I gave him a nod and moved over a little, a small smile spreading across my face as I patted the space beside my bed.

"Will you sleep with me?" I pleaded.

"Of course, darling." He breathed out as he laid beside me, throwing his arm around my shoulder.

My smile widened as I buried my face into his chest and closed my eyes. I felt sleep overtake me as his arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer to him.

A month later

I let out a sigh as I buried my face in Crocodile's shoulder. He was reading thru some files and was trying to fill them out, for Robin, who looked somewhat annoyed.

She was probably upset because since the attack I had been clinging to Crocodile. I wouldn't let him out of my sight, and I was constantly hugging him, which meant I wasn't doing any of my work; which caused her to work harder.

"Sir, I need to remind you about your meeting with you know who." Robin said with a frown.

I felt him tense up as he set his pen down. He gave a nod and rubbed my thigh.

"I'll be rescheduling-"

"Sir, with all due respect you have rescheduled it five times. If you reschedule it anymore they will start to get suspicious." She said cutting him off.

"Alright, I'll go to it."

She gave a nod and excused herself, leaving me and Crocodile alone. A sigh left his lips as he rubbed circles on my leg.

"(Y/n), I'm afraid you can't go to this meeting with me." He grumbled out.

"I understand." I whispered as I felt tears start to stream down my face.

He let out another sigh and moved his book to my chin, forcing me to look up at him.

"I promise you that everything will be alright, sweet girl. No one would dare try to hurt you in my casino." He growled out.

I gave him a nod and he leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss to my forehead.

"It will only be an hour. When I get back I promise we can snuggle in my bed for however long you like."

I gave him another nod and watched as he pulled away from me. He whipped my tears away and sent me a small smile.

"I can have Robin sit with you if you want."

"No, it's okay. I'll probably just take a shower and then go back to bed. Besides I'm sure you need her help with the meeting." I mumbled as I buried my face in his shoulder.

"Alright, sweetheart. But if you need me-"

"I know, it's okay. Go and have your meeting." I whispered as I leaned up and kissed his cheek. "I'll be okay."

I climbed off of his lap and watched as a frown appeared on his face. He said nothing and simply stood up. With another kiss to my forehead he was gone, leaving me in his office alone. A sigh left my lips as I turned and made my way to his bathroom, stopping in his bathroom only to grab one of his over size shirts.

"It's gonna be okay." I whispered as I heard footsteps.

I turned and felt a small smile appear on my face as BanBan walked up to me, his tongue hanging out.

"Hey, little guy. Seems I have my fierce protector with me." I teased as his tail started to wag.

I heard a thump and quickly peeked out to see one of the bigger Banana Gators out.

"Aw! Did you come to watch over me, Sweetie pie!" I cooed.

Sweetie pie's tail wagged back and forth as I stepped up to her and scratched under her chin. She was the biggest one of the gators, and the most protective one. She would do anything to protect her master and to protect me and BanBan.

"Such a good girl." I cooed as I pet her. "I'm gonna take a shower but then I'll come out and we can snuggle."

I walked into the bathroom, feeling a lot better and a lot safer.

Third person POV

Crocodile had to hold back a groan as he listened to Mr. 3 complain about another one of his subordinates. Crocodile truly didn't want to have this meeting, but he knew that he had to keep everyone in line. Part of him wanted (Y/n) to be there beside him, but he didn't want to drag her into this.

"Are you even listening?" Robin whispered.

"No." He said as he rubbed the bridge is his nose.

She let out a sigh and muted them.

"Why don't you just tell her your plans? She's already worked with us for a year, and she nearly died trying to keep all your secrets." Robin questioned with a frown.

"I don't want her involved in this." He grumbled out.

"She already is."

He let out a sigh and rubbed his temples, a stress headache starting to form.

"Fine, bring her here."

She gave him a nod and turned to leave, smiling as she left the room.

First person POV

I stepped out of the shower, feeling a lot better and cleaner. Crocodile's shirt practically engulfed me, which wasn't surprising seeing as he was a giant compared to me.

"Good you're out." A gentle voice said, causing me to jump.

"Robin! You need to wear a bell!" I yelled as I put my hand over my heart.

"Sorry, but the boss wants you to go to the conference roo-"

She hadn't even finished before I had rushed out of the room, running as fast as I could to get to him. A giant grin was on my face as I opened the doors to see him alone, sitting with a phone in front of him. He was about to motion for me to come to him, but I was quicker and threw myself into his arms. I buried my face into his chest as I straddled his lap. In an instant his arm wrapped around me. He kissed the top of my forehead before he continued with his conference. A smile spread across my face as I pressed my ear to his chest and listened to his heart beat. His heart was always so calm, it nearly always put me to sleep. My eyes fluttered close as I listened to one of the voices on the phone start to complain.

...

When I woke up it was to Crocodile placing me down on his bed.

"Is the meeting over?" I grumbled as BanBan climbed onto the bed.

"Yes, and you sept thru the whole thing." Crocodile teased as he laid down beside me and BanBan.

"Sorry, I guess I was a lot more tired than I had thought." I grumbled out as I buried my face into his chest.

"It's alright." He said as he pulled me closer.

"Croc."

He let out a hum as he drew shapes on my back.

"Thank you for caring for me." I whispered as my eyes fluttered close.

"Darling, there is no need to thank me. As I told you before, I always protect what is mine." He said as my eyes closed.
