Law
"You see Law-" Your heels clicked on the floor as the two of you trotted down the hallway- "Sometimes you have to trust your gut when it comes to these situations." You finish, opening the door to your office.
"Although true (Y/n)-ya,-" He fidgets with the documents in his hands, glancing at the patient's file, "Instincts are flawed and biased, which can be detrimental in the medical field."
You snicker at him, with a perfect rebuttal in mind.
"Excuse me? Am I in the right room?" The patient asks, awkwardly sitting on the examination table.
"Ah yes, Mr?" You ask, slipping gloves on.
"Helmeppo." Law answers, to which you glance and smile.
"Well, you didn't need to take your pants off for this Mr. Helmeppo." You say as your glove makes a snap.
The man awkwardly blushed as he attempted to tug his shirt down to cover the nether regions.
"One down and how many more?" You ask your intern, closing the door.
"Five more patients." He answers.
"Lesson one: pantsless patients happen more often than you think." You commented, walking to another region of the hospital.
"Noted." He sighed, scribbling it down in a small notebook.
Taking a swift right, the two of you entered a barely lit hallway. The paint on the walls was chipped and cracked, while some of the waiting seats seemed to have been ravaged by wolves.
Swallowing the lump in your throat, you power walked to the end of it almost leaving Law behind.
"What area is this (Y/N)-ya?" Law asked, the hairs on his neck standing at a right angle.
"It's the we-don't-talk-about-it area!" You exclaimed, nearly running out of it.
Once you reached the pristine and well-kept section, you let out a sigh of relief.
"This is what we call the 'kissed by an angel' section." You said motioning to the almost sparkling hallway. "If you see a celebrity keep your mouth shut."You winked.
Law was hesitant to follow you to the second client, fearful of recognizing them.
"If it isn't my favorite patient!" You exclaimed, the tall man grinned while standing in the corner parallel to the door.
"Fufufufu~" He chuckled, leaving his spot and shaking your hand.
"Waddaya got for me today? Breast implants? Nose job?" You asked with arms on your hips.
His gaze shifted to Law, his grin slightly faltering.
"Don't worry about him. He's with me." You waved off, sensing the tension in the room.
"Good." He mused, "It would be a shame to have to shoot you, doc." He grinned, now looking back at you.
"Oh! Mr. Donquixote!" You giggled, approaching the patient.
The girl on the medical table was quiet while she eyed everything around her.
"So, Mrs?" You asked. No answer.
You turned your head to Law, who was still staring at the man in pink.
You furrowed your brows. "Come on Law, he doesn't bite."
"Indeed, Trafalgar. I don't bite." Doflamingo added.
"I am aware of how you treat your affairs, Doffy." He answered dryly.
The tension was strange as you and the girl looked at each other confused. What was that about?
"What's she in for?" You asked, hoping for an answer.
"Nose job." The girl eventually spoke up, realizing the other two wouldn't.
You hummed, picking up the tools your intern faltered to give you.
The examination was swift but uncomfortably quiet.
"Alrighty! Mr. Donquixote I'm sure you're familiar with which way to take her." You smiled.
"Always a pleasure Doc." He nodded, still not his usual self.
Grabbing Law's forearm you rushed out of the room.
"Would you like to explain what happened?" You asked, walking to the next room.
"My apologies, I was simply caught off guard." He said, flipping through his files.
"The next patient is-"
"TRAFF-GUY!" Luffy exclaimed, seemingly unaware of the arrow stuck in his shoulder.
"Luffy-ya." Law exasperated.
"What's the story behind this one?" You asked the freckled raven and silver-haired man with him.
"These two idiots decided to play a twisted game while I was out!" The older one exclaimed, hitting them on the head.
"For your information, it's a valid sport!" The freckled man rebutted.
"Arrow Frisbee is not a sport!"
You rolled your eyes at their antics, turning to Law.
"Since you bailed on the last patient, I'll let you treat this one." You smiled.
Law grimaced but did not complain.
"Hold these files." He sighed, shoving them in your arms and rolling up his sleeves to reveal inked skin.
"Tattoos Mr. Trafalgar?" You raised a brow, examining the design.
"Save the speech (Y/N)-ya." He smirked, filling a needle. "I've seen yours."
"You're mistaken." You scoff, watching him approach the distracted teen.
"I think you've forgotten about the events of last Tuesday's twelve-hour shift." He smirked.
Your eyes widened in shock. Did he see it?
"WUAAHHHH! OJISSAN!" Luffy exclaimed, running towards his grandpa after seeing the needle.
"Don't you dare try to run away!" His grandpa exclaimed, holding him in place.
"NOT A NEEDLE!" He cried dramatically.
"You have an arrow in your shoulder and you're scared of this?!" His brother exclaimed in disbelief.
With enough manpower, the raven eventually received the tetanus shot and the arrow was successfully removed.
By the end of said appointment, you and Law were both disheveled and tired.
"That was the last one, right?" You groaned, fixing your coat.
"Two more." He answered, combing through his locks.
You whined but walked to the next room with your makeshift assistant.
"Tell me Law, what made you want to be a doctor?" You inquired, arms behind your back.
"I want to help people." He shrugged, procuring the next patients file.
"Noble cause." You hummed, allowing your eyes to inspect the area around you.
"What about you, (Y/N)-ya?" He asked.
"We're here!" You exclaimed, opening the door.
"Good morning, Doctor." The woman smiled, putting her book down.
"Good morning Robin." You smiled, washing your hands.
"Is this the nurse you were talking about?" She inquired, pointing at Law.
Almost immediately you felt him staring daggers at your back.
"He's the intern I've been assigned." You answered, to which she hummed in response.
Surprisingly, this was the first patient whose appointment went smoothly.
"After that I almost have hope in the next one." You smiled.
"It's a man named Eustass-ya." Law commented.Your eyes widened.
"Fuck." You cursed under your breath.
"Something wrong?" He asked, a brow raised in confusion.
"It's nothing." You waved off, walking to the room.
"Finally a fucking doctor!" The redhead groaned, eyes widening as he realized it was you.
"Hello, Eustass." You greeted.
You could almost hear the gears grinding in his brain as he attempted to figure out what was going on, until it clicked. Suddenly, a smug smirk grazed his features as if he knew what to do.
"How's it going, doc?" He asked, crossing one leg over the other.
"Trafalgar." You called, "What's this one in for?" You asked, arms on your hips.
Law raised a brow. Since when are you this professional?
"Tetanus shot." Kid answered smugly.
"You seem quite confident about a shot." You commented, pulling your gloves with a snap.
"I'm a mechaninc. A small little needle isn't going to scare me." He shrugged, still smirking.
You scoffed, preparing the needle with Law's help.
Holding the needle, you observed the glint casted by the fluorescent lights in the clinic. A small smile grazed your features.
"Mr. Eustass could you lift your right sleeve?" Law requested, which Kid obliged.
You inserted the needle in his porcelain skin, watching the needles contents disappear and enter his system. After removing the needle and handing to Law, you quickly covered the bruise with a colorful bandaid.
"All done Mr. Eustass." You said, removing your gloves.
"I didn't even feel it." He said, giving you a shit eating grin.
"I'm sure your dates say the same." You sighed, watching the smile disappear from his face.
Law tried his best to repress his snickers, mentally saving Kid's frown as a treasured memory.
"It might hurt for a couple of days so I'd advise against overexerting yourself." You said, pretending you didn't insult him minutes ago.
"I'm sure you're familiar with pain for days after a date." He retorted, regaining his smugness.
You snorted, "I beg your pardon?"
"Then beg." He said crossing his arms.
While the tension brewed between the two of you, Law watched silently but entertained.
"I don't have time for your shenanigans. Goodbye Eustass." You said, leaving the room with Law following suit.
Trying to walk as quickly as you could to your lockers, you could sense Law's urge to give a witty remark.
"Don't." You threatened, annoyed.
