Ace (2)

A/N:Hello! Hello! Since you guys enjoyed that first chapter, I decided to make a sequel.

Enjoy!

Recap:

"I'VE BEEN SEEING GHOSTS WAY TO MANY TIMES, ACE!" You exclaimed.

"Okay, Okay! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" He said, wincing and waiting for you to hit him, forgetting that it's fisically impossible.

"NOT ONLY AM I SEEING GHOSTS ONE OF THEM HAS GAMMOMANIA BECAUSE OH WOW! HE WANTS TO MARRY ME FOR SOME REASON!" You said, as Ace just watched you walk around the room shouting like a mad woman.

Present:

"Is bad that I want to marry you or something?!" He exclaims, covering his head.

"IT'S REALLY FUCKING WEIRD THAT'S WHAT IT IS!" You yelled, wide-eyed.

"Lieutenant (Y/N) are you okay?" The nurse from earlier said, knocking on your door.

"E-everything's fine! I just stubbed my toe!" You lied, as Ace snickered.

"That was such a bad lie." He whispered.

The nurse hesitated to question you but decided to leave you alone.

"Be careful then!" She said in a cheery voice.

As soon as her footsteps were no longer heard, you turned to Ace.

Take this moment to imagine what a stressed mother of 12 about to snap at her child during grocery shopping would look like. Now give a black eye and burns, with unbrushed hair as well.

That's what your expression was.

"C-Can we calm the down please?" Ace said, nervously.

You were so repulsed, so indignant, so filled with emotion, it was like a robot malfunctioning.

"You know what, Ace? Work now. Bother me don't." You said, in so much anger you could barely speak properly.

As you sat down and grabbed a pencil to begin, Ace realized something.

"Can't you do anything else with your life, (Y/N)?" He asked dryly.

"What do you mean, Ace?" You said, your face reflecting how close you were to murder a dead man.

"Ever since I met you, all you do is work." He said as he crossed his arms with a neutral expression.

"Why is it any of your concern? It's not like it affects you." You smiled, as the pencil in your hand broke.

"Well, maybe you should do something else with your life." He smiled.

"It's not that simple, Ace." You sighed.

"Ah, (Y/N)! But it is! I did it and I turned out fine!" He argued.

"You're a ghost Ace!"

"But I lived a fulfilling and awesome life." He grinned.

"It seems like there's still a void even after the afterlife." You joked still filled with rage, putting your hand through the hole in his chest.

Although a small act, Ace felt offended.

He died protecting a loved one, someone he genuinely cared for. He made a family, sure, not the usual type but it fit him like a glove.

And here you were, some bruised marine that just got their ass kicked trying to define how well he lived his life.

"Do you really want to live like this, (y/n)? Working and working and working?" He asked.

"If it's another day I don't fucking starve and I have a bed, yeah, I do Ace." You growled.

"Is that all that matters to you? Confort? Where's your sense of adventure (y/n)?! There's a whole world out there!" He argued, as your blood boiled.

"That's for pirates and rich people, and I am neither." You said.

"You could at least try something new instead of settling for a smidge of tiny comfort!"

"Unlike you, I enjoy comfort!"

"You can have that and adventures!"

"I don't want adventure! I want safety!"

"And you decided to become a marine?! You got severe burns just today! How the hell does that work?!" Ace said, getting closer.

"You wouldn't understand!" You said, nudging a finger at him.

"You don't understand yourself (Y/N)!" He exclaimed, suddenly close enough that your noses could almost touch if possible.

Suddenly, a surge of energy went through you, and you punched him.

"OW!" He exclaimed, caressing the cheek you punched.

"Wait, you felt that?!" You exclaimed yourself, shocked.

"Why the hell did you punch me?!" He pouted, before realizing what had happened.

"Wait, how did you punch me?!" He exclaimed, wide-eyed.

"I don't know!" You exclaimed.

"Does this mean-" He stopped mid-sentence and attempted to steal a kiss. "Damnit." He pouted.

"Hey!" You blushed, instinctively slapping him.

"Ow! Stop that!" He cried.

While he pouted, you looked at your hands and back at him constantly.

Suddenly, a crazy smile plastered your face as you came closer.

"H-hey, (y/n), buddy, what are you doing?" He asked, walking backwards as you laughed.

After receiving a small number of slaps and allegedly "gentle" punches, you both sat on your bed.

"I feel much better." You smiled, as he pouted, rubbing his bruises.

"I'm still marrying you." He pouted.

"I still have some anger in me, Ace." You said, cracking your knuckles as his eyes widened.

"But-"-you sighed-"How does this even work? I've never been able to touch ghosts before."

"It's because we're soulmates, my dear." He winked as you gave him a look of disgust.

"Nice try, I don't believe in soulmates." You said, fixing the gauze on your burnt hand and arm.

"But you believe in souls." He argued.

"Well, I'm able to see souls." You retorted.

"Touché, Touché."

"Ok, I still have work!" You exclaimed, lifting up from your bed and going towards your desk.

"No!" Ace exclaimed, grabbing your waist.

"What the hell?!" You exclaimed, looking down to realize he was actually clinging to you.

"I can touch you?!" He exclaimed excitedly, quickly lifting up to hug you.

"This is getting weird." You said, confused.

"I don't care I can touch you!" He grinned, burying his face in your neck.

"Okay, enough with the clinging." You said, attempting to push off the ghost with your good arm.

"No! I can hug you now!" He exclaimed, rubbing his cheek on you.

The harder you tried, the more he clung, until suddenly he glazed a bruise.

"Gah!" You cried in pain, making his eyes widen.

"I'm sorry!" He said, jumping off and sticking to floating near you.

"Should've done that sooner." You thought, caressing the bruised area.

As you tried to once again work, Ace decided to test his newfound ability.

"Can you stop poking me?" You asked.

By annoying you.

"I've been a ghost for a while, okay? Let me enjoy this." He defended.

"Fine." You groaned, rolling your eyes.

As you finished work, you stretched and decided to shower.

"Hey let's shower together!" He exclaimed.

"No!" You retorted, making him pout at you.

"Party pooper." He murmured, crossing his arms.

You showered carefully, trying your best not to get any of the bigger burnt areas, as the small blisters were too scattered to avoid.

After leaving the shower and drying yourself, you unrwrapped your burnt hand.

The burn extended from fingertips to your elbow.

"Thanks, Asskainu." You thought, as you spread the ointment on the recovering area.

Upon wrapping it up once again, you checked the rest of your body to make sure nothing else needed any assessment.

You still had some bruises varying in different shades of purples and green.

After getting dressed in an old uniform of yours, you opened the door to the bathroom and Ace looked at you.

"I'll never get why you sleep in your uniform." He joked.

"If you can find something that isn't a uniform in my wardrobe i'll wear it." You retorted, grabbing you book and going under the covers, as Ace joined you.

As you began reading, you were imeddiatly in a trance, imagining the whole cenario in your head.

"But i don't wan't to live in a mansion mother!" Cataline cried, stomping her foot on the ground in tears.

"But you must, Catalina! It's for your safety and your brother's!" Her mother exclaimed, as Cataline cried and angrily destroyed her surroundings.

Engsabe entered, his gorgeous locks flowing as Cataline ended her tantrum abruptly.

"You musn't let me go to that horrid place!" The redhead cried, staining her porcelain features.

"But it's for the best, as King Dragon is on his way my love." He said, cupping her face as more tears stroll down her features.

Unfortunately for you, Ace was still over the moon and stole a kiss from you.

"Ace!" You exclaimed, blushing.

"What? Did I steal your first kiss?~" He teased.

"What are you? Twelve?" You joked, attempting to return to your book.

"Yes, I am a ten out of twelve as a matter of fact. Consider yourself lucky~" He winked, making you snicker.

"God, you're so corny." You laughed.

"Love you too." He joked.

He laid on the bed and came closer to you.

"I know you're a marine, but can you do me a favor?" He asked, laying near you. Your brows furrowed as you looked at him.

He laid on his stomach, curls sprawled around and head resting on his arms.

"What favor would that be?" You asked.

"Can... Can you send a message to my brother Luffy?" He asked, avoiding your gaze.

"Why?" You asked, he shifted and blushed.

"Since you can actually see me, I figured he deserves a proper goodbye of sorts- I don't know, it's just- You can see me and-"

"Ace. I get it. " You reassured, a wave of relief went over his face.

"Thank you, (y/n)." He smiled.

"The thing is, it will be way harder than you think." You sighed.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"After you died, well, his crew separated." You said, closing your book as his eyes widened.

"W-what?" He stuttered.

"I'm not sure how to explain this,  but a while ago they got sent to different areas in the world and allegedly will meet up in 2 years." You sighed.

"How long ago?" He asked. You stopped to think.

"I'd say about a year and a half or so." You said.

"Shit." He muttered, pouting.

"Sorry bud." You said, once again opening your book.

"We're just going to have to find him!" He exclaimed.

"Yeah, i'm not doing that." You said.

"Why not?!" He exclaimed.

"Because i'm a fucking marine. I don't need another ass kicking." You snickered.

"He won't kick your ass! I won't let him!" Ace exclaimed.

"Ah yes, a ghost he can't even see will stop him." You said sarcastically.

"We don't know that!"

"Ace you're really optimistic, did you know that?"

"You're just a pessimist, (y/n)." He retorted.

"No, i'm a realist." You smiled.

You laid down and turned to the wall.

"Night, Ace." You muttered.

"Goodnight, my fianceé." He teased, kissing your cheek.

As he attempted to spoon you, you quickly slapped his hands away, making him pout and turn around.

Yeah, that didn't stop you from waking up on his chest with his arms embracing you.

"Fuck." You whispered, trying to lift up, but his embrace only tightened.

"Nice try, (Y/n). But you're my teddy bear now." He teased.

"Come on, Ace. I need to get ready for work." You grumbled, trying to run away.

"It's a saturday, (y/n)."

"That means training day." You said, still squirming.

"You're still recovering, my dear." He argued.

"Damnit." You thought.

"Let's stay in bed for a little longer." He smiled.

"But the sun's already up!" You exclaimed, when suddenly the blanket covered you.

"No it isn't. Let's go to bed." He said, turning around and spooning you.

"You're a ghost! You don't even sleep!"

"Hush now, my pillow." He said, now embracing you with his leg too.

"Let me go!" You protested.

"Shhhhh!" He hushed you, putting his head in bettwen your neck and shoulder, closing his eyes.

"You're getting away with this one, ghost boy." You muttered, before falling back to sleep.

When you woke up again, you actually felt surprisingly better.

As you tried to lift up, Ace still stopped you.

"Come on, I have to pee!" You exclaimed.

"Fine, but you better be back." He grumbled, releasing you.

As you finished washing your hands, you attempted to begin working, but sadly Ace caught on.

"Nice try, (Y/n)." He said, towering over you.

"I slept in and everything! I can work now!" You argued.

"It's still a no." He said, making you pout.

Wait, why were you even listening to him?

You tried to run to your chair and work, but he managed to catch you mid act like a hog.

"Did you think it was that easy? Really?" He asked.

Suddenly you realised something.

"Hey, Ace...Why is the hole in your chest gone?" You asked.

"Wait, what?" He asked, looking down in shock, and letting you go.

"HOLY SHIT!" He exclaimed with a grin, poking at where the hole was.

"Weird..." You muttered, chewing your cheek.

"Do you know what this means?!" He asked, excitedly.

"That you now have a whole instead of a hole?" You joked, which he returned with a quick glare.

"It means my abs are back!" He exclaimed.

You looked at where the hole used to be and raised and eyebrow.

"Like what you see?~" He joked, posing for you.

"I-I don't know what you're talking about." You stuttered, blushing.

"Someone's blushing~" He teased, pinching your cheek, which you swatted away.

"Are you becoming human?" You questioned.

"Now that you metion it, I am getting a little more color aren't I?" He asked, looking at his arms.

"Getting a little cuter that's for sure." You thought, but quickly ignoring it.

"Actually yeah. How the hell does that work?" You asked.

"I don't know either i'm just happy I get to do this." He said, stealing a kiss.

"I'm glad I can do this." You said, still blushing from the kiss as you slapped him.

"You're mean!" He pouted.

"Yes I am, i'm glad you took notice." You answered with a grin.
