"By Sabo! Stay safe out at sea!" You shouted, waving both arms back and forth. Sabo turned and smiled at you. He was going to be the first one out of all of you to become a pirate. Only at the age of 10.
"You bet, [Y/N]! Keep an eye on Ace and Luffy while I'm gone!" Sabo shouted. "Oh, by the way, there's something I need to tell you, [Y/N]!" Sabo shouted.
"What is it?" Just before he was about to answer, another ship blew his ship up, setting it on fire. Your eyes widened, tears filling them.
"SABO!" You shouted. You ran to jump and save him, but Ace held you back.
"[Y/N] no!" Ace shouted, grabbing your wrist. You looked back at him, tears streaming down your face.
"Ace?! What are you doing?! We have to help him!" You shouted. Tears ran down Ace's face.
"It's too late, [Y/N]! We can't help him!" Ace shouted. You knew his was right. Your mind knew it was too late, but your heart refused to believe it. Over the years you had spent together, you, Ace, Luffy and Sabo, you had developed a crush on the top hat wearing boy. But you thought he only saw you as a sibling, just like he saw Ace as an older brother and Luffy as his younger. But little did you know, he also had feelings for you, he just didn't know how to confess.

That was four years ago now, and you had been 10 years old, 10 years if you count the two years you and Luffy had been training under Silvers Rayleigh, the first mate to the previous Pirate King, Gold Roger. You were now 20 years old, and part of Luffy's crew, the Strawhats, sailing the seas in search of the One Piece. The day Sabo died, both you and Luffy lost someone special to you. And now, you had lost two people. No, Luffy was still alive, but Ace had been killed. (I'm so sorry!!!) He had been killed trying to protect both you and Luffy from being killed by Marine Admiral Akainu. He had sacrificed his life for yours.
Now, the very fruit that Ace had eaten to get his devil fruit powers, the Flame-Flame Fruit, was up for grabs, right in front of the both of you. You had to admit, Luffy's costume was pretty terrible, also his fake name, Lucy, really? He could have chosen any name, literally any! But instead he chose a name that sounded almost exactly like his own!
"I'm sorry, but I think the Flame-Flame Fruit belongs to me." A voice said. You, Luffy and Bartemello(?) turned around. Bartemello had been a pirate who was obsessed with the Strawhat Crew. He had a boat shaped like Luffy and wanted posters of the whole crew, including you. You had to admit, it was a little bit unsettling. But Bartemello was kind, nonetheless. He stood in front of the stranger.
"Hey! That fruit belonged to Mr. Luffy's and [Y/N]'s big bro Ace! They have all the right to it!" Bartemello said. The stranger punched Bartemello out of the way. You and Luffy got ready for a fight.
"Who are you?" You shouted. The stranger smiled.
"It's been a long time, Luffy, [Y/N]." The stranger said. He was looki down, a top hat covering his eyes. Luffy narrowed his eyes.
"How do you know our names?!" He shouted. The stranger chuckled lightly.
"You really don't remember me, do you, Luffy, [Y/N]?" The stranger asked. You frowned.
"Should we remember you?" You asked. Luffy narrowed his eyes.
"The only way I would remember you is if we fought before. And I don't remember fighting you!" Luffy said. You stared at the stranger a little longer. That too hat, it looked oddly, familiar. The stranger smiled.
"Oh, we used to fight a lot when we were younger, Luffy." The stranger said. Luffy growled.
"I still don't remember you! The only people there when I were younger were [Y/N], Ace and Sabo! And Sabo's dead!" Luffy shouted. Your eyes widened. The stranger wore the same top hat that Sabo wore when he was a kid. As if time turned back, you saw the same young boy you had fallen in love with all those years ago right before you. The image faded, revealing the older looking male. The stranger smiled.
"I wouldn't be surprised if you don't remember me. Like I said, it's been a while." The stranger said.
"I-It can't be." You whispered, lowering your hands from their fighting position. Luffy looked at you.
"Huh, [Y/N], what are you talking about?" He asked. You continued to stare at the stranger, not answering your friend.
"S-Sabo?" You asked hesitantly. The stranger lifted his face, showing the scar around his eye. Tears came to your eyes.
"You've two have grown," Sabo said, looking up. He had the same smile, the same eyes. The only thing that was different was the scar around his right eye. He looked at you. You're even more amazing, [Y/N]." Sabo said. You didn't fully trust that this man was the person you had fallen in love with all those years ago. Luffy was the first to react, after overcoming his initial shock. Stretching out his arms, Luffy hugged Sabo. Luffy started sobbing. You stayed frozen. After hugging Luffy and finally getting him off, Sabo looked at you. He smiled.
"H-how do I know it's really you?" You asked. Sabo smiled.
"Ask me something only Sabo would know." He said. You frowned.
"What's my full name?" You asked.
"[Y/N] [L/N]." He answered. You slowly took a step towards him.
"What's my favorite color?"
"[F/C]." Another step.
"What's my favorite food?"
"[F/F]." Another step.
"How old was I when we first met?"
Sabo smiled softly
"You were 10 years old, a year younger than Ace and I and a year older than Luffy." Another step. Now, you were right in front of the man who claimed to be Sabo.
"What did you want to tell me before your ship was blown up?" You whispered. Sabo smiled.
"I wanted to tell you that I love you." He whispered back. You looked him in the eyes. Lifting up your hand, you gently pressed your fingers against his scar. Sabo closed his eyes, relishing the warmth of your touch. Tears filled your eyes and you smiled. Sabo opened his eyes. A smile crossed your face.
"It really is you!" You shouted. Sano chuckled and nodded. Laughing, you threw your arms around Sabo's neck, he lifted you up and spun you around. The two of your shared a laugh. Setting you down, you looked into his eyes. "Oh, by the way, there's something I need to tell you, Sabo." You said, saying the exact words he had told you all those years ago. Sabo smiled, his hands resting on your waist.
"And what's that?" He asked. You smiled at him.
"I love you to." You said. Sabo smiled. He then pulled you into a passionate kiss, his arms winding around your waist and your arms winding around his neck. You now had the man that you loved with you, after all these years. You were just worried about how he would take the news of Ace's death.
