(I don't know, I did my best.)

As the Windows of the older house rattled from gusts of strong wind, and as the rain paraded down like a stampede against the tin roof, a wavering atmosphere spread throughout the dimly lit house.

"Marco..." You whined, looking out the window from a little ways away on a comfy recliner chair, covered by Marco's favorite blue and yellow blanket. Flinching ever so often from The strikes of lightening that flashed throughout the night sky. "The phone keeps going on and on..." Multiple storm alerts filled the room from your cellphone and one that was tucked in the kitchen drawer that was left by one of his family members last night, due to their Friday night game nights they had in the dining room. "The satellite is no longer working." The telivision was stuck on a screen that told about it's loss of a connection.

The storm riled up even more, and soon the electricity went out. You picked up the candle and match that was already prepared in advance on the small table next to the recliner. You navigated to the fireplace that was a few steps away and placed a lit candle on the mantel, for best coverage from the flame.

"And, it's out." Your attention quickly shifted to your cellphone as you wanted to call Marco to tell him. The battery was decently charged, it was the cell service that failed.

After the few times the storm tricked you into thinking it was over, the front door opened then quickly slammed shut, with none other then the pineapple himself.

"You okay, yoi?" Marco asked while immediatly stripping off his soaked shirt.

"Yeah, I'll get a towel." You walked towards the bathroom with a slight bounce and the light from a phone to guide those steps. You were happy he was safe After all. You grabbed a towel, even some of his clothes seeing as he'd likely want a change.

"Here." You handed him the change of clothes and a clean towel, as he told his thanks. Suddenly you realised your attention was being too focused upon his half naked body, even with the very dim lighting, as you walked a few steps away and made sure your back was turned as he changed. "I'm assuming your ride home was okay?" He had a job to work at in the next town over at a company his family owned. Along with traffic, it usually took about forty minutes to get home. He was a smart thinker, not the kind one would see driving in such an awful storm. To say the least, you weren't dumb either, you knew he traversed through the thunder and lightning, the wind and rain, just for you, to make sure you were safe and sound.

"Yeah. A few branches in the road, nothing much yoi."

A loud sound started, like small coins hitting against the already loud tin roof.

"I'll go see if that's rain." You traversed to the window in the living room, even with it being practically pitch black out, you could see several white spots of hail. "Good thing you got back when you did, it's hailing out. You had me worried you know."

"Something we share. But I shouldn't be, you're a strong person after all, yoi." He walked into the living room, mostly dressed, with an open button up and drying his small spot of hair on his head.

"I'm strong? Not sure about that one, was practically freaking out that you were driving out there all alone. Anyways, will you ever get new windows? I'm scared one day water is going to leak through." You instantly changed subjects, going instantly to a complaint for some reason or another.

"You were calm, weren't you?" Marco responded as he put a hand on your back, smiling a smile at you.

"I didn't feel like I was." You stared up at him. Practically, you loved the man yet, your relationship with each other was a mystery. After a few complications with money, you even moved in with him, different rooms and all but always close by.

"Come on let's get you to bed, yoi." He pulled you gently by your wrist, as you smiled a bittersweet smile. You loved him, yet you were also saddened by the touch you knew not the feeling behind it. He was hard to read after all, with the dull look in his eyes.

He soon proceeded to tuck you in bed, after carrying and putting out the lit candle.

You let the warmth of the blanket envelope you as a sweet feeling of being cared for came to mind, even as little flashes of lighting and drums of thunder invaded there way to your mind.

"Could you grant me a wish Marco? It may seem selfish, but you're my only shooting star." You reached out your arm, letting him hold your hand in his. He seemed interested in listening to your babbling words, from what little you had to go off of from the light of lightening. "Could you sleep next to me, just once. It always feels so lonely." If you had but only one wish, that was it. You would not manipulate his feelings, just once to sleep without the feeling of being alone.

He didn't deny, nor did he say any other words as he proceeded to make himself cozy next to you.

"Marco?" You questioned, laying by his side. "What are we?" Maybe, or perhaps, he wouldn't realise what you actually meant by that question.

"Members of the Newgate family."

You were about to speak, denying such a matter, yet he spoke again before you had a chance.

"And if you arent, I'll make you one, yoi."
