He Doesn't Remember
(Sabo x Male Reader)
You furrowed to the orange hat. It resided on a mans head as he headed to your home. Pulling a dagger from your wall you got to the door and opened it. Your blade was pressed to his neck.
"Whoa whoa easy (Y/N.)"
You blinked as he pushed back his hat. You dropped your dagger seeing Ace. The two of you embraced. Ace cupped your face and kissed you softly. You pulled back and invited him in.
"It took me a while to find you (Y/N)."
"Hasn't it always?"
Ace chuckled, "Your right."
"How have you been? I searched all over to find you."
"I've been well. I was apart of the revolutionary army. For a while. Then retired to reside here."
You put on some tea, when you turned to Ace he stood behind you. He took your hands.
"As promised you would marry the first brother you came in contact with first."
"And I did."
Ace furrowed, "No. no you haven't I already met up with Luffy. He's out with his crew. And I just-"
He trailed off as you smiled softly, "I'm married to Sabo."
"Sabo? But he's dead."
"Sabo. Lost his memory of who we are. And. Who I am."
Ace read your eyes. Trying to see if you were lying. But your deep eyes, confirmed. He sniffled while tears pricked his eyes.
"My. My brother is alive!"
The two of you embraced before Ace sobbed onto your shoulder. You held him in your firm grip. Hushing him to calm him down.
"Ace. In case his memory does come back. Can you write him something? He'd like to have something from his big brother."
He sniffled, "Yeah. I will."
Going to Sabo's office you pulled out a quill and some ink. You turned to Ace in the doorway.
"This is my husband's office." You spoke.
Ace stepped inside to pick up some pictures. They all were the two of you.
"Yeah. That's Sabo Alright."
"Sabo is chief of the Revolutionary Army."
"Chief?!"
You nodded, "He's been working with Luffy's father."
"Luffys?"
"Honey! I'm home!"
You grunted taking Ace out of his office. You lead him to the living room. Having him take a seat. Ace kept to Sabo hanging his hat up and his coat.
"Welcome home dear. I have an old friend over."
Sabo turned having Ace stand. He looked like he saw a ghost.
"Sabo this is ou- my brother Ace."
"Oh, a pleasure to meet a family member of my husband's." Sabo grinned.
"No no. The pleasure is all mine."
"Please mind him. Ace was going to write a letter for me. Right? Ace?"
He turned to you, "Oh right."
You placed the paper and the ink on the table. Ace began to write the letter while Sabo went to find you. Making tea.
"He can't be related to you."
"We drank sake together and we bonded as brothers."
You turned to Sabo. It sparked something like he was trying to trace it. But he soon shrugged and kissed you softly. He pulled back cupping your chin.
"I'll be in my office if you need me."
"No. Why don't you go bond with Ace. The two of you have more in common then you think."
Sabo sighed, "Anything for my husband."
"Thank you dear."
He headed to the living room. Where Ace looked up to him then back down to letter.
"So. What are you writing?" Sabo asked.
"Eh. Just. A little something. For (Y/N)."
"Since you two have known each other long. Tell me what my husband was like when he was a kid."
Ace chuckled tilting back his hat, "(Y/N) was hard to find. It took me forever to find him now."
"I'm surprised. I kept him here from any harm. (Y/N) means so much to me. But I'm glad he has someone from the outside world."
"You have no idea."
You stepped in with tea for them while Ace handed you the letter. Taking it you thanked him softly before stepping away. Ace turned to Sabo and patted him on the shoulder.
"You don't know it now, but. (Y/N) means a lot more to us then you think."
Sabo cocked a brow, "huh?"
"You'll understand one day."
One. Day.
Sabo's eyes scanned the paper. Portgas D. Ace. Dead. Sabo's heart beat in his ears knowing your brother was dead. But as he kept staring at the name and page. His memory of his brothers and his husband came back to him.
"YOU BASTARDS!"
They turned to you.
Throwing the paper to the ground tears welled in your eyes. Sabo kept to you. All those memories coming back to him. You were just the same. You always held a fire in your belly. And knew when to release it.
"YOU COULD OF HELPED THEM! AND WE JUST SAT HERE!"
"(Y/N)." He muttered approaching you.
"MY BROTHER IS DEAD BECAUSE WE DIDN'T HELP!"
"(Y/N)." Sabo spoke.
"MY LITTLE BROTHER! DRAGONS SON! WAS ON THAT BATTLE FIELD! AND I JUST SAT HERE! IS THAT ALL WE ARE?! JUST SITTING ASSHOLES?!-"
"That's enough (Y/N)!" Sabo barked.
You both stood face to face, anger was in your eyes. Sabo held the guilt and pain.
"Our brother is dead. And there was nothing we could do about it." Sabo snapped.
You furrowed, "What?"
"Ace protected our little brother. Luffy. And in memory of him we shall do the same. But before then. I. I want to hear the stories we all shared together."
Your eyes died of fire and looked confused but hopeful.
"We made a vow. That which ever brother found you first. You would be wed to him. And you kept your vow. Even though I don't remember making it."
You smiled softly, "Let's go home and grieve."
