Mania

The boy panted in pleasure as he ran. A shot was fired and it went right through his body. He smirked and climbed up the wall like a monkey. There were shouts as the men who were chasing him gathered at the base of the building and gazed up at him, frustrated. When he was close to the top of the building, the boy threw his lower half up and landed on the roof in a crouched position. He smirked down at the men and saw them pointing to the side and they split into two groups, going opposite ways.

He giggled a little and jumped over the alleyway, running across the rooftop and leaping into the air. He disappeared.

His footsteps were loud, calling forth all of the Marines in the area. He ran into a courtyard and the marines filed around him, cutting off all escape routes. The boy grinned and lifted an arm at his side, his hand somewhat limp.

"Room," he said.

A transparent sheen shaped like a cube surrounded the area, encasing all the enemies. The men all cried out in confusion and the boy's eyes lit up in blood thirsty anticipation.

"Maelstrom."

Screams of agony split the air and blood shot of the Marines' bodies like geysers. Their bodies crumpled onto the ground, making a ring of corpses. The blood pooled into a river and it sunk into the cracks and soaked into the dirt. The boy's eyes were shadowed and he wiped the blood off his cheek.

"Heehee..." he said, beaming. He jumped over the bodies and broke into a run again.

Bullets were shot and they past right through him, blood spilling at the contact. He grinned insanely and whooped as he ran faster.

"I'm coming for you," the boy breathed.

Trafalgar Law.

_

"Oi! Luffy!" Usopp called from the deck. "Do you see anything yet?!"

"Noooo..." Luffy said with his bottom lip sticking out. "I'm bored!"

"Find something to do then," Nami said, straining her voice. She was getting sick of hearing her Captain complaining about how nobody was entertaining him.

Robin was doing some work inside, keeping Sanji company as he cooked. Zoro was sleeping on the deck and Chopper was watering the potted plants. Franky had gone to the engine room to reload on cola and Brook had gone along on a whim. Usopp was polishing his weapon on the lawn and drinking some ice water.

Luffy frowned. "Tra-guy... how much longer until the next island?"

Trafalgar's eyes landed on Luffy at the head of the boat. Caesar was feigning sleep and sometimes peeking from the corner of his eyes to see if Law had left yet. Whenever he did this, Law scowled at him and the scientist quickly closed his eye again.

"It's right over there, Mugiwara-ya," Law informed after one of those moments.

"Really?!" Luffy spun around and his face lit up. "Oh ho ho ho!"

Nami stood and went over to the edge to take a look as Usopp and Chopper followed. It looked to be an autumn island with warm colored trees and a chilly air. Nami slid on her cardigan and Luffy grinned.

"Kirei na," Chopper said, hanging off the side to look over. "Those trees have so many pretty colors."

"It doesn't look like we'll have any overpowered enemies coming after us here," Usopp said happily.

"Why would you say that?!" Nami and Chopper both hit him on the back of the head.

"You're going to jinx it!" Nami shouted.

"Knock on wood! Knock on wood! Knock on wood!" Chopper forced Usopp's head to hit the boat each time he said it.

"Chopper! Stop!" Usopp said, struggling away from the animal. "I te te te...!"

"Ii kanji da!*" Luffy proclaimed as the chaos continued behind him. He sucked in air. "EVERYBODY TO THE DECK!"

His crewmates showed themselves on the deck and they looked up at him for instruction. Zoro yawned, peeking at his captain under one eyelid, but he didn't bother getting up. Luffy grinned down at them.

"First thing we do when we land..." he said with his arms crossed. "Is fill the kitchen with meat!"

"Luffy!" Nami said. "That's not-"

"Yosh!" Luffy turned on his heel and faced the island again. "Full speed ahead!"

As everybody bustled around, preparing to land Luffy glimpsed something on the shore. Law's eyes widened and he hurriedly got to his feet, running to the front. Luffy shadowed his eyes with his hand and narrowed them.

"Eh?" he said, the figure on the island had disappeared. "Hmmmmm...?"

Trafalgar's jaw set and his grip on the boat shook. He prayed that he was just imagining things. He couldn't possibly be here, unless...

"Mugiwara-ya," he turned to the Captain of the Straw Hats. "I don't think we should anchor down on this shore."

"Eeeeeh?" Luffy's neck stretched and his pouting face was right in front of Law's. "Nande?"

Law took a step back. "I have a bad feeling."

"You're probably hungry," Luffy decided, his head retracting to sit on his shoulders once more. "Don't worry, we're going to buy meat."

"B-"

"MEAT!" Luffy yelled out toward the approaching island.

Trafalgar sighed and watched the ominous island getting closer and closer, his body tense. He'll stay on the Sunny Go and keep off the island, if he just doesn't get into his extent of scent.

A Few Minutes Later.

"Mugiwara-ya!" Law said, struggling to get the quickly latched on captain off his arm. "I can't be here!"

Luffy had somehow managed to drag Law out of the ship and onto the island. He was now in the process of dragging him through the town they had discovered a bit inland from where they anchored. The others had gone ahead of them to look around and Luffy was stubbornly forcing Trafalgar to accompany him to a restaurant.

"What's the problem?" Luffy inquired as he pulled Law a few more inches forward. "I'll save some meat for you."

"That's not the issue!" Law bellowed as he dug his heels in.

Luffy frowned. "What else can it be?"

"I can't be on this island!" Trafalgar said, trying to wiggle out of Luffy's grip.

"Why not?"

Trafalgar opened his mouth to speak but a scream interrupted him. Luffy's expression switched from laid back and comfortable to protective and attentive.

"Nami!" he unwrapped his arm from around Law's and sprinted to the source of the cry. Trafalgar right on his heels.

They rounded a corner to see Nami on the floor, spiked, iron arrows hovering above her body, ready to strike when called for. Usopp had his projectile ready to shoot, Sanji was in his fighting stance, and Robin had her arms crossed across her chest. A translucent cube was encasing them.

A kid with midnight blue hair and a sickly gray skin tone had his arm out in front of him, supposedly controlling the arrows. His eyes were shadowed and his mouth was twisted into a mad smile. One of the arrows flew and Nami squeaked before dodging, the spike drew blood on her cheek.

"Bastard...!" Sanji growled, still unable to attack.

The boy took a step forward, walking calmly over to Nami. As he did the arrows hovered to the sides of Nami's form. Nami sat frozen as the boy crouched down in front of her and raised his hand to the scratch on her cheek.

"Don't let him touch you!" Trafalgar suddenly screamed, but it had been too late.

The boy's body turned into scarlet blood and every drop of it was sucked into the cut on Nami's cheek. She took a terrified breath and her body seized up. Her movements became forced and jerky. She twitched to her feet and stared in horror at her friends.

"Min... na..." she struggled to say, her body convulsing uncontrollably.

Then, she stopped. Her body as still as a stone, but her eyes were bright with fear. Her hand smoothly clenched and unclenched and she spread her arm out and bent it a couple of times.

"N-nami-san?" Sanji hesitated, sliding his foot along the sand.

"Where did that bastard go?!" Luffy said, loudly.

"Tch," Trafalgar's eyes hardened. "He's inside her body."

"Nandato?!" Sanji yelled, panicked.

"Oh, my," Robin said, a bit startled.

"How... how do we get him out?" Usopp asked, his pupils dilated.

Just then Nami spun on her heel and ran out of the town.

"Nami!" Luffy said, running after her. "Where are you going!?"

"I don't know!" her voice was shrill.

"Nami-san! Wait!" Sanji stampeded after her and Luffy, Robin and Usopp followed.

"I would if I could!"

Law shouldered his sword and sighed through his nose before running after them. The pirates left the passerby's speechless and somewhat traumatized.

_ A Few Moments Before

"Nami-swan!" Sanji sang. "Robin-chwan!"

"Hai, cook-san?" Robin said with a closed eyed smile.

"What do you think of these?!" he showed them bathing suits. Bikinis... transparent bikinis...

"Like hell we would wear those!" Nami beasted, punching him on the head.

Robin chuckled and went back to looking around the marketplace. Tourist traps and miscellaneous store fronts were ready and cheerful to try and lure them in. The cook had had a heated argument with a clerk after he tried to rip him off with a certain 'special' spice, which was actually just grounded dried lettuce and white ash.

They had gained quite a haul of food and barely any clothes, which Nami was bummed about. She said the place didn't have anything that she would even consider wearing. Sanji's pick was proof of that.

"Oh," Nami caught sight of a familiar back and they all went up to Usopp. "Oi! Usopp!"

The sniper turned around and smiled as his friends came near. He was waving when a boy around the age of nineteen cut them off, standing between them in the street.

"Hm?" Sanji said, his cigarette hanging out of his mouth. "Who's he?"

They scrutinized him harder and saw blood beginning to dribble down his chin and drip onto the ground. They all gasped sharply as a huge waterfall of blood showered from the boy's body and stained the dirt.

"W-w-w-w-what's happening?!" Usopp screamed, cringing away.

"He needs help!" Nami said, taking a step forward.

The boy's head snapped up and one crazed eye landed on her.

"Room."

The Straw Hat members all exclaimed as a sheen of black engulfed them.

"Extraction."

The blood rose into a circle that twirled around the boy. It separated into two substances and one of the two shattered onto the earth while the other flew at Nami, sharpening into rugged spears.

She screamed, falling backwards.

"Nami-san!" Sanji said frantically, trying to reach her before she got impaled.

_ Present

They were led into a clearing, the autumn trees shedding their golden leaves gracefully. Nami stood to one side and her panting friends on the other.

"I don't know..." Luffy wheezed. "Who you are! But give Nami back!"

"This is bad," Usopp whispered. "We can't attack Nami. Which means we can't do anything."

"Maybe that boy will live inside her body forever, feeding off her life force," Robin contemplated.

"Don't say something so creepy in such a cool manner!" Usopp reprimanded.

"Kimi!" Sanji pointed at Nami. "Get out of Nami's sweet body right now!"

"He will," Law said, gaining all eyes on him. "It would be too boring for him this way."

"Do you know this damned brat, Tra-guy?" Sanji asked, suspiciously.

"Yeah."

Luffy stared at the man for a second before turning back to Nami. Blood bubbled from the scratch on her cheek, it pooled onto the ground and it formed a body as if it were pouring into a container. Feet, legs, torso, arms, shoulders, and then head.

The boy from before appeared in front of their eyes. His attention had been on Trafalgar from the very start, after the blood had solidified into his body. His eyes were a deep malevolent red, and his clothes were oversized and worn.

Nami collapsed onto the lawn of grass, unmoving.

"Nami!" Luffy said, stretching his arms and picking Nami up.

"Nami-san!" Sanji's head whipped to give the boy a death glare. "What did you do?!"

The boy just beamed in reply.

"Teme...!"

Before Sanji could do anything, Luffy was already in front of the boy, readying a punch.

"Gomu Gomu no Pistol!" his fist went right through the boy and blood splattered onto the green grass.

Luffy landed on his feet and gave the boy a calculating gaze.

"Who is he?" Luffy asked, straightening. "Law."

Trafalgar's jaw set. "Vellane Sin."

The boy winced, his bloodthirsty look unexpectedly gone. "You never call me that..."

He smiled warmly, putting two fingers on his forehead before bringing them out. "I'm Usui, nice to meet you."

"Eh?" Usopp said, a question mark appearing beside his head.

"Split personality?" Robin suggested.

Luffy caught the look on Law's face before turning back to the boy. His friendly face cracked into his madness again and all likeableness vanished. He maniacally grinned at Law, who readied himself.

"Everybody back," Law commanded. "You guys can't take on a guy like him."

"We're counting on you," Usopp said as Sanji picked up Nami and they and Robin ran away from the clearing.

Luffy still stood next to Law and the older man sighed. "You can watch, but stand further away."

Luffy nodded and walked over to the side of the cleared area. Trafalgar was appreciative of him, even if he acted stupid most of the time, he knew when a fight was only between certain men.

The two boys lifted their arms, Usui's hand was hanging limply while Trafalgar made a complicated sign with his fingers.

"Room," they both said.

Cube intercepted sphere and a gale sprang up, snapping their clothes and ripping up leaves, turning them into shreds. Trafalgar's gaze would've sent a normal person running, but Usui's mouth just widened in pleasure.

"Doflamingo wants you back," Usui informed Trafalgar. "He's willing to forgive you if you just return Caesar and bow down to him again."

"Do you want me back?" Trafalgar asked.

Usui's expression fell suddenly and he looked baffled. "Do... I... want you back?"

Trafalgar waited for the answer and his heart almost dropped to his stomach when the murderous semblance traveled across the boy's face once more.

"I want you dead," Usui laughed, a blood curdling laugh that made the hair on your neck stand on end. "But I can't do that. Doflamingo's orders."

Blood flooded out of Usui's palm and it hardened into a sword. He gripped it and zoomed forward. Trafalgar unsheathed his own katana just in time. He manage to block the strike of the sword as it was coming down. The blades shook as their owners had a battle of wills.

"Let's go back," Usui said sickeningly.

Trafalgar gritted his teeth as the boy grinned insanely from below him, trying to force his sword into the older man's body.

Usui's eyes grew to the size of dinner plates and his pupils danced vulgarly in the whites of his eyes. "Aniki."
