Prologue

I felt my heart race as I climbed up a ladder and made my way to the top of a rooftop. I snapped my fingers and smiled as a bridge appeared between two of the buildings. I ran across it and then snapped my fingers again, causing it to disappear.

"You rotten street rat! I'll get you next time!" A guard screamed as I continued to run across the rooftops.

I slid down the pipe on the side of the building and walked towards the docks. I felt my heart stop as I saw a pirate ship dock.

"Finally! We have made it to Arabasta!" A tall man exclaimed as he stepped off of the ship.

He had a black curved mustache, and a fierce grin on his face. His hair was black and he wore a long red captain's coat. Beneath his coat, he wore a blue shirt and had a yellow sash around his waist. He wore a white cravat around his neck, had dark blue pants, and what appeared to be black sea boots.

"Roger, we are just here to restock our supplies." A man said as he wakes up to the pirate.

The man was tall with strawberry blond hair and had a moderate amount of facial hair. He had a scar over his right eye and was wearing a simple black coat and green pants with a purple belt wrapped around his waist.

I felt my grin get wider as reality hit me. I had seen this man multiple times, and I couldn't believe I was actually seeing him in real life. I quickly pulled out a poster and stared down at it.

Silvers Rayleigh, the Dark King, everyone knew him as Gold D Roger's right hand man. He was legendary and almost everyone feared him.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and let out a scream.

"Let go of me!" I yelled as I kicked and scratched at the man holding me.

"I've had enough of you! You're coming with me, you brat!" The guard hissed as he picked me up by the collar of my shirt.

"Let go of me!" I screamed.

My eyes narrowed and I felt something course thru me. The man in front of me went stiff and I felt his grip loosen on me as he fell backwards, causing me to fall to the ground.

"That kid used Conqueror's Haki!" A voice exclaimed.

My feet started to shake and I fell to the ground. My eyes went wide as I looked around and found that a bunch of people had passed out. I turned around and saw that the only people standing was Roger's crew. I felt tears streaming down my face as I felt my whole body shake. Rayleigh started walking towards me and I felt my heart stop. I quickly jumped to my feet and took off running as fast as I could.

"Hey! Hold on!" Rayleigh yelled as he chased after me.

I ran until I lost him, only stopping when I made it 'home'. I whipped my eyes and set down on the cold hard ground. I pulled my legs to my chest as I let out a sob.

I didn't know what this Conqueror's Haki was but I didn't like it. Whatever it was, it hurt a lot of people and probably got me into more trouble.

"Idiot... why'd you do that.. you should have just let them take you." I mumbled as I buried my face into my knees.

I heard thunder and then felt it start to rain. I let out a sniffle and grabbed some of the poster I had collected and laid them over me. I let out a sigh as I did my best to hide under the tarp and tried to fall asleep. After a while I heard footsteps and felt my eyes flutter open. My eyes only opened when I felt something get wrapped around me.

"It's okay, you're safe now." A deep voice said as I felt a pair of arms pick me up.

I felt my body shake as the cold air hit my face. I quickly buried my face into someone's chest and snuggled into their warmth.

"Ah! You found her, that's great!"

"Shh, you are going to wake her up."

I let out a whimper as I felt my eyes flutter open.

"It's okay, you're safe now." The man whispered as he rubbed my back.

"She's soaking wet. Here take my coat."

"I can't believe they could allow a kid to sleep out here on the streets. She's freezing, it won't be long before she catches a cold." The man growled as he wrapped another coat around me.

"I'll run on ahead and have the boys get a bath ready for her."

"I'll be there soon. Make sure you have some new clothes set out for her."

I heard running and then I felt the arms tighten around me. I felt myself relax as the man rubbed my back, warming me up. I don't know why but I instantly felt safe in this man's arms. I felt my eyes slowly open and I looked up to see that Rayleigh was carrying me towards his ship.

"Dark King." I whispered as my eyes went wide.

He looked down and sent me a small smile, his hair sticking to the side of his face.

"You can just call me Rayleigh or Silvers." He said as he let out a chuckle and carried me onto the ship.

"Are... are you going to turn me in?" I asked thru tears.

"Of course not. I'm going to get you fed and cleaned up." He said as he sent me a reassuring smile.

My eyes went wide as Rogers stepped out of a room and held the door open for Rayleigh. We made it inside and saw two boys waiting for us.

"You boys head out, Rogers and I have it from here." Rayleigh ordered.

"Yes sir!" They exclaimed as they saluted him before running out of the room, leaving me with Rogers and Rayleigh.

Rayleigh set me down on the floor and pulled the coat off of me.

"Let's get you washed up and then get some soup in you, you're practically skin and bones." Rayleigh said as he handed the coat to Rogers.

I stripped out of my clothes and climbed into the tub.

"Is it warm enough or is it too hot?" Roger asked as I sunk into the water.

"It's fine." I whispered as I sunk deeper into the water.

"Good, now let's scrub you clean." Rayleigh said as he rolled up his sleeves and grabbed a rag and a bar of soap.

After an hour of scrubbing and washing my hair, he rinsed me off and helped me out of the tub. Roger wrapped a fuzzy towel around me and helped me dry off as Rayleigh grabbed me a shirt.

"Alright, this should work for tonight. Tomorrow we can go and get some clothes for her." Rayleigh said as he handed me a simple white shirt.

He helped me slip it on before he picked me up and carried me to the Captain's room, where Roger had a bowl of soup waiting for me at his desk. I scarfed the food down, as Rayleigh got a place on the bed ready for me to rest.

"I can't believe such a little thing could cause so much trouble." Rogers said as he watched me eat.

"Well she isn't just a little thing, she's a devil fruit user and she has a strong Haki. It's no wonder the government wants her." Rayleigh said as he fluffed up a pillow.

"Still, she can't be but maybe five years old, six at least." He said as he shook his head.

"Ten." I said as I set the spoon down.

They both turned to look at me as I grabbed the glass of water and chugged it.

"Slow down, you'll get sick." Rayleigh ordered.

"Sorry...." I whispered as I set the glass down.

"What was it you said, kiddo?"

"I'm... ten years old." I said as I toyed with my fingers.

Their eyes went wide and I quickly stared down at the bowl of food.

"How long have you been on your own?" Rayleigh asked as he poured some more water into my glass.

"Six years now." I whispered as I swung my feet back and forth. "My parents were killed by desert pirates."

"I'm sorry." He said as he set the pitcher down. "That must have been hard."

"What's Conqueror's Haki?"

"It's a very powerful form of Haki, not many people have it. There's only about one in a million people who can have the willpower to wield it." Rayleigh explained as he set down beside me.

"Did I kill those people?"

"No, you simply knocked them out. They all got back up after you left." He said as he ruffled my hair up.

I gave him a nod and looked back at my plate.

"Do you want some more?"

I shook my head no, before I let out a yawn. Rayleigh let out a chuckle and rose to his feet.

"Let's put you to bed. You've had a rough day." He said as he patted my shoulder.

I allowed him to scoop me up in his arms and carry me over to the bed, which Rogers was standing next to. Rayleigh laid me down, while Rogers pulled the covers over me.

"Alright, get some sleep. If you need anything, Rogers will be right over there at his desk." Rayleigh said as he pointed at the desk.

"Okay." I said as I pulled the covers up.

I rolled over onto my side and stared out the window as I heard Rayleigh and Rogers walk away from me. I found that sleep just wouldn't come, so I set up and turned to look at Rogers. Rogers was writing on a piece of parchment, a candle being the only light he had. I slowly climbed out of bed and walked up to him, my heart racing. I reached up and tugged on the sleeve of his shirt, causing him to set the pencil down and turn to look at me.

"Is everything alright, dear?" He asked as he crouched down.

"Could... you lay beside me?" I asked as I held onto his sleeve.

A laugh left his lips as he shook his head. He blew the candle out before he rose to his feet and picked me up. I wrapped my arms around his neck, allowing him to carry me back over to the bed. He laid me down on the bed, before he climbed in after me. He pulled the cover over the two of us and laid down beside me. I quickly buried my face into his chest as he put an arm around me. Almost instantly a wave of relief hit me and I felt my eyes slide shut as I fell fast asleep.

...

When morning came I woke up to Rayleigh shaking Rogers awake. I let out a whine and hid my face as Rayleigh let out a chuckle.

"It's time to get up. We need to take her to get some clothes." Rayleigh explained.

"Don't wanna get up, I'm comfy." Rogers grumbled as he rolled over and hid me from Rayleigh.

"Too bad, get up or I get the bucket."

"You wouldn't dare soak this poor child." Roger grumbled as he pulled me closer, causing me to laugh.

"I wouldn't, but Buggy would."

"Time to get up!" Rogers exclaimed as he set up.

Before I knew it they had returned with a bunch of clothes, Rayleigh had a handful of dresses, while Rogers had pants and button up shirts. They both ended up buying me some shoes and other supplies such as toys, brushes, and even some hair bows. They got to work on fixing my room up, while I set and played with Shanks and Buggy.

"I've just realized something." Rogers said as he put my clothes away.

"What's that?" Rayleigh asked as he worked on building the box.

"We never learned her name."

"No, I'm sure she told us her name... it was... um... it..-"

"My name is (Y/n)." I said as I turned to smile at them.

"(Y/n).... That's a very nice name." Rayleigh said as he smiled down at me.

Four years later (14 years old)

I let out a yelp as I hit the ground, landing flat on my butt.

"Rayleigh! Buggy hit me!" I called out.

"Buggy! Stop hitting (Y/n)!" Rayleigh snapped.

"What! But she hit me first!" Buggy whined.

"I don't care! Don't hit her!" He snapped.

"What happened to equal rights!" Buggy yelled as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"Buggy."

"Fine! I won't hit her!" Buggy snapped as I stuck my tongue out at him.

His eyes narrowed and he quickly rushed forward and tackled me to the ground. I let out a scream as we rolled across the ground, kicking and hitting each other.

"That's it! Time out!" Rayleigh yelled as he pulled us apart.

"But he/she started it!" We both whined.

"No buts! I told you both to behave and you didn't! Now get to your corners!" He snapped as he set us down and pointed to our designated areas.

I let out a huff and stomped over to my corner. I crossed my arms over my chest as I plopped down on the ground and brought my knees to my chest.

"I hate it here." I grumbled out.

"Buggy, you can come out now; it's time to train." Rayleigh said as he walked up to Buggy,

"Why does he get to train and I don't!" I exclaimed.

"Because I said he can train." He said as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"Equal rights means nothing on this ship." I said as I let out a huff and turned away from him.

I watched them train from the corner of my eye and I felt anger boil up inside of me. It wasn't fair that they could train but I couldn't. Rayleigh always treated the boys differently than me and I couldn't stand it. When it was time for me to leave my corner I felt an evil idea course thru my mind and I decided to ignore Rayleigh every time he tried to talk to me.

"Kid, it's time for-"

I pushed past him and walked up to Shanks, a giant grin on my face.

"Shanks, is dinner ready?" I asked with a smile.

"Uh... yea? Why are you asking me and not Rayleigh?"

"Who is Rayleigh?" I asked with a huff, causing Rayleigh to hunch over, holding his chest.

Roger let out a laugh and held his sides as Rayleigh fell to the ground, his hand over his heart.

"You really did it now!" Roger exclaimed as he smacked his back.

I grabbed my food and walked up to Gaban and plopped down beside him. The look on Rayleigh's face was priceless, he looked like I had shot his best friend.

"Fine! If you want to be like that then go ahead! See if I care!" Rayleigh snapped as he crossed his arms over his chest and looked away from me.

"Gaban can I sleep with you tonight?" I asked sweetly, ignoring Rayleigh.

"Sure thing, kiddo." He said as he ruffled my hair up.

I heard a gasp and had to look away, as I was trying my hardest not to laugh. Roger wasn't hiding his happiness as he teased Rayleigh, who looked extremely pale. My plan would end up backfiring as Rayleigh stopped talking to me. A week passed and neither of us wanted to give in. Though I missed talking to him, I knew that I'd never be allowed to train with him if I simply rolled over and gave him what he wanted.

"You okay? You look a little out of it." Shanks said as he plopped down beside me.

"Rayleigh hates me." I mumbled as I pulled my legs to my chest.

"No he doesn't."

"He does! He hasn't spoken to me in a week, I bet he's already planning on sending me away... probably gonna make me join Whitebeard's crew." I grumbled as I let out a huff.

"He would never do that. Now if you were Buggy-"

"Hey! I'm right here!" Buggy exclaimed.

"I'm joking, hey how's about we go to town and get some grub?" Shanks asked with a giant grin.

"Okay." I said as I gave him a nod.

He pulled me to my feet and I followed him into town. We set down at a bar to eat, but of course someone had to ruin our fun.

"Oi, what are you brats doing here?" A marine asked with a snarl.

"We are just eating, sir." I said as I stared up at him.

"I bet you brats don't have any coin to pay for this."

"Of course we have money! We are part of Gold D Roger's crew!" Buggy yelled as he pushed the man away from us.

"Oh so you're pirate thugs." The marine hissed as he threw Buggy to the ground.

"Leave him alone!" I yelled as I rushed up and hit his back.

He spun around and roughly grabbed my hair, causing me to cry out in pain.

"Let go of me!" I yelled as I tried to grab his wrist.

He yanked my head back, causing me to cry.

"I bet you're just an orphan with no family. I bet those pirates don't even care about-"

He was cut off by a fist connecting with his face, throwing him thru a wall. I fell to the ground as tears streamed down my face.

"Who the hell do you think you are, attacking MY DAUGHTER!" A voice screamed.

I looked up as a whimper left my lips, and found Rayleigh standing above me. He stalked over to the man and hit him over and over again, until he wasn't able to move. Roger was forced to pull him off of him.

"He's had enough!"

"He's still breathing so he hasn't had enough!" Rayleigh hissed as he kicked the guys stomach.

"Rayleigh! That's enough, you're scaring the kids." Roger said as he pulled him back.

Rayleigh let out a sigh as he gave him a nod. He turned around and walked over to us, his eyes softening as they landed on me.

"Are you three alright?" He asked as he knelt down to our heights.

I felt my bottom lip tremble as he stared down at us.

"(Y/n)-"

I rushed forward and wrapped my arms around his neck as I let out a sob.

"I was so scared!" I cried out.

"Shh, it's alright. I'm here, you're safe." He said as he pulled me closer.

He picked me up and gently rubbed my back as I hid my face in his shoulder.

"Let's go home." Roger said as he picked the boys up, who were clinging to him.

They took us back to the ship, where Rayleigh carried me to his room. He untangled my hair and put it back in a braid.

"I'm sorry that I ignored you." I said as I looked at the ground.

"I'm sorry too. I should have been training you this whole time. If I had trained you, then you would have been able to protect yourself." He said as he smiled down at me.

I whipped my eyes and he patted my back.

"I have something for you." He said as he rose to his feet.

He walked over to his dresser and opened the top drawer. I watched as he pulled out a small box and carried it over to me.

"This belonged to my mother." He explained as he set down in front of me and handed the box to me.

I pulled the top off and pulled out a necklace with a giant blue gem in the middle of it.

"My mother gave this to me and told me that I was to pass this down to my own child." He explained.

"But... I'm not your child." I said as I looked up at him.

"Trust me, you're my kid. We might not share blood, but in my heart I know you're mine." He said as he took the necklace out of my hands.

He slipped it around my neck and clipped it. I reached up and smiled as I touched the gem. I quickly rushed forward and put my arms around his neck, smiling as I buried my face in his chest.

Four years later (18 years old)

I heard someone let out a scream and turned to see Buggy glaring at Shanks. Rayleigh let out a sigh and covered his face.

"Did you hear that!? Shanks just threatened to throw my treasure in the ocean!" Buggy exclaimed.

"...after you threatened to kill him in his sleep." Rayleigh said as he shot him a look.

"That wasn't a threat, it was a promise."

"I'm not dealing with you today." He said as he turned and walked away from them.

"Do you guys have to fight?" I asked as I shook my head.

"Of course we do." Shanks said as he sent me a smile.

"If we weren't fighting you would think we were sick." Buggy said as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"I would most likely think you were dying." I said as I let out a laugh.

I heard thunder and we all turned to see that it was raining outside.

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Buggy asked with a giant grin.

"That we should run outside and play in the rain?" I asked with a giant grin.

We all rushed outside, laughing as the rain soaked us. I heard running and turned to see Roger running up to us laughing.

"What are you three doing! You're going to get sick!" Rayleigh yelled as he slammed the door open.

"You can't control us!" Roger yelled as he let out a laugh.

"GET BACK IN HERE NOW!" Rayleigh ordered.

We all rushed in and he quickly dried us off, while Rogers was left outside in the rain.

"Let me in!" Roger exclaimed.

"STAY OUT THERE AND SUFFER!" Rayleigh screamed.

We were dried off and sent to bed, though the next morning we woke up coughing. Crocus gave us some medicine and then lectured us about being out in the rain. We were all forced to stay in Roger's rooms with him and recover.

"I think I'm having a mid-life crisis." Buggy grumbled as he sunk into his bed.

"You're 12 years old." Shanks grumbled as he pulled the covers over his face.

"I MIGHT DIE AT 24!" He snapped.

"With how stupid you are, you will probably die at 13." I teased as I snuggled into Roger's side.

"Take that back!"

"I'd rather die!" I yelled as I threw a pillow at him.

"I am going to kill all of you! Lay down and shut up!" Rayleigh ordered. "And you! You're eighteen years old! Act your age!"

"Fuck off!" I yelled as I let out a whine.

"Don't make me come in there!"

We recovered and were forced to clean the ship top to bottom, and of course Rogers was forced to help us.

"Rayleigh!" Buggy exclaimed as he rushed up to Rayleigh with Shanks.

"What is it Buggy?" Rayleigh asked with a sigh.

"If me and Shanks were drowning, who would you save?"

"Neither of you can swim?"

"It's a hypothetical question, Rayleigh! Who would you save?" Shanks pleaded.

"My time and effort." He said as he turned and walked away from them.

"Rayleigh!" They whined as he went to his room.

The next day we found a devil fruit, which Buggy stupidly ate.

"Welcome to the life of no swimming." I said as I patted Buggy's shoulder.

"My life is over." Buggy said as he hid his face in my shoulder.

"There there, it will be okay." I said as I held back a laugh.

"This is your fault!" Buggy yelled as he turned and glared at Shanks.

"I save his life and he blames me for him eating a devil fruit.... can you believe this?" Shanks asked as he turned to look at me.

"Yea, pretty much." I said as I shrugged my shoulders.

A year later (19 years old)

I set beside Rayleigh and listened to him discuss the next island we would be landing on

"Captain! There's Whitebeard's ship on the opposite side of the island!" A voice called out.

"Whitebeard is here? That's just great." I grumbled as I let out a groan.

"Better get ready for a fight." Rayleigh said as he patted my shoulder.

"Seriously? I get to fight?" I asked with a giant grin.

"Don't make me regret this, kid." He said as he ruffled my hair.

"Thank you, dad! You're the best!" I exclaimed as I rushed forward and hugged him.

We hopped off of the ship and pulled our swords out, preparing to fight.

"He's as strong as they say. Should we stop him already, Rayleigh?" Gaban asked as a man ran towards us.

"Yeah!"

"Wait, Gaban, Rayleigh! I don't want you to get hurt!" Rogers yelled as he ran past us.

"You just wanna fight him." Rayleigh said as he lowered his sword.

I laughed as he charged at the man, knocking him down with one hit. The fight began and I engaged in a fight with one of the men. I used my sword to block his attacks, and dodged as best as I could.

"Oi! You better not get hurt! If you do then I'm not allowing you to fight again!" Rayleigh called out to me.

"You're being over protective!" I called out to him as I swept the man's feet out from under him and blocked another guy's sword.

"Rayleigh! Stop being over protective!" Roger called out as I kneed a guy in the chest. "Let the girl live a little!"

"Roger focus on yourself and not our argument!" Rayleigh snapped as he threw a man over his shoulder.

I rolled my eyes and slid under one of the guys. I conjured up a flock of birds, which kept me hidden from the man and allowed me to knock him out. Before I knew it we had been fighting for two days and nights and I was slowly growing exhausted.

"(Y/n)! If you need a break go back to the ship! Same for Shanks and Buggy!" Roger called out to me.

"A break? I could keep going for another two days!" I called out as I punched a guy in the face.

"Don't push your luck!" A man yelled as he turned into a bird and charged at Rayleigh.

I watched in amazement as Rayleigh stopped the man with one finger, a grin on his face.

"I'm always serious. Young man." Rayleigh said as he pushed him away from him.

I quickly got back to my fight, my bones aching as I pushed thru the exhaustion. A man with claws rushed towards me and I dodged his attack. I tripped him, causing him to fall flat on his face.

"You bitch!" He yelled as he charged at me.

Shanks ended up being thrown into the man, knocking him away from me.

"Rayleigh's daughter! You and me!" A tall man yelled as he held out his sword.

I spun my blade and took my stance.

"Bring it on samurai." I said as my eyes glowed red and a flock of birds flew past my face.

The birds swarmed me and I used it as an opportunity to disappear, knowing full well I couldn't take him on in a head on attack. I climbed up a tree and used the height to my advantage and made my way behind him. I watched as he took out the birds, his eyes scanning the area for me. I jumped out behind him and brought my swords down, he quickly spun around and deflected my attack, throwing me towards Rogers and Whitebeard. I let out a scream as I hit the ground hard.

"I expected better." He said as he let out a laugh.

"You want better?" I asked as I whipped the dirt off of my face. "Fine, I'll show you better."

Smoke wrapped around my body as my eyes shut.

"Oden! Move now!" Whitebeard ordered.

Oden turned to look at him, but it was too late as the smoke charged at him, throwing him across the island. I felt my knees give out as he landed a few feet away from me, crashing into a giant tree. My eyes fluttered shut as I heard someone run up to me. I felt a pair of arms wrap around me as I fell forward.

"Easy sweetie, Uncle Roger has you."

"Gaban, go and get Crocus! Tell him it happened again!" Rayleigh yelled as my eyes fluttered.

"Here let me take a look. I'm a doctor." A deep voice said as I felt a hand touch my forehead. "She is burning up. Jozu go get my kit."

"On it!" Jozu exclaimed as I heard him take off, probably running towards their ship.

"It's her fruit. She must have over used her energy with that blast." Rayleigh explained.

I heard more running and snuggled into the Rogers warmth. Rogers gently rubbed my back as I felt another hand move some hair out of my face.

"What does it do?" A voice asked as I felt a needle go into my skin.

"She wields the Ide Ide no Mi, or in other words the Thought Thought Fruit. It allows the user to create anything their mind can think of." Another voice explained. "Though they can create anything they want it comes at a cost. The longer they use it without rest, the more sick they get."

"There's not much that can be done. She will just need to rest." Crocus said as he crouched down beside me.

"I'll take her back to the ship." Rogers said as he scooped me up in his arms.

"Alright boys! We are under a cease fire until tomorrow morning!" Whitebeard called out. "You should all rest up!"

"Thank you, Newgate." Rayleigh said as Roger carried me away.

I soon found myself waking up to someone checking my blood pressure. My eyes fluttered open and I turned to see a tall, lean, muscular, blond-haired man.

He was wearing an open purple jacket and a light blue sash adorned with an elaborate golden-yellow belt around his waist. He had dark gray knee-long pants and black sandals.

"You look like a pineapple." I mumbled as my eyes opened and closed.

"I bet you think you're adorable." He grumbled as he glared down at me.

"I do." I said as I smiled up at him.

He let out a chuckle and shook his head as he took the cuff off of my arm.

"Well, you should be fine. Though you won't be able to fight any more." He said as he put his gear away.

I let out a groan and slumped back against the pillow.

"Don't complain, you're lucky to even be awake. Crocus told me normally you would be out for a week." He said as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"Can I at least watch?"

"That's up to Rogers." He said as he rose to his feet.

"Then I have a chance." I said as I jumped to my feet.

"Hey! I didn't say you could get out of be-"

I ran past him and threw myself over the railing of the ship, landing on the ground.

"Hey! (Y/n)'s up!" Gaban called out as he set his sword down.

I was instantly tackled in a hug by Shanks.

"I thought you died!" Shanks exclaimed.

Rayleigh and Rogers both shook their heads as Shanks clung to me. Buffy rushed towards us, his face bright red.

"How could you be so stupid! You should know by now that you can't use a move like that!" Buggy chastised as he started to lecture me.

"Does she ever slow down?" The blonde haired man asked as he walked up to my captain, who was laughing.

"Only when she's knocked out." Rayleigh said as he shook his head.

"How do you not have heart problems?" The man asked with a chuckle.

"Marco, I wish I knew. That kid has given me more scares than I can count." Rayleigh said as he smacked the back of Roger's head.

"Hey! Why'd you hit me!" Rogers whined.

I was forced to sit on the sidelines for the last battle. When it was time for us all to sleep, I curled up beside Shanks and Buggy. We slept on the cold hard ground and talked about the battle. During our discussion, I felt something drape over my shoulders. I quickly turned around and saw that Marco had put a blanket over me.

"I wouldn't feel right if I allowed you to be cold." He said as he sent me a smile.

"Thank you." I said as I pulled it closer.

He gave me a nod and turned and walked away from us, leaving me with a beaming Shanks and Buggy.

"Someone has a boyfriend." Shanks teased.

"You're such an idiot." I hissed as I kicked his leg.

"Whatever you say, Mrs. Marco."

I flipped him off and rolled over on my side. I rolled my eyes as I wrapped the blanket around me and closed my eyes. The next morning the fighting was over and the crews were trading supplies.

"Hey, Shanks." Buggy grumbled as I set on the ground.

"What?"

"You see the guy with the hat over there?" Buggy asked as he motioned to the guy I had previously fought two days ago, the one who wielded a pair of claws.

"Yeah."

"I heard he didn't sleep yesterday or the day before during the ceasefire at night!" Buggy explained.

"Why? He wanting to show off?!" Shanks asked with a huff.

"No! They say he's never slept even once since he was born!"

"What? Is there such a person? I wonder if he enjoys life twice as much as us!"

"Idiot! It's not that simple! He must be a monster!" Buggy snapped.

"A monster?"

"You both are idiots." I grumbled as I rolled my eyes.

"No, we aren't!" Buggy yelled as he glared down at me.

"You totally are." I said as I stuck my tongue out.

"Take that back!"

Rayleigh passed by us and quickly smacked the boys on the back of their heads. Buggy and Shanks let out a whine as a smile spread across my face.

"What!? But (Y/n) started it!" Buggy exclaimed as he turned to look at Rayleigh, who was walking away from us.

"Yea, well I am finishing it." Rayleigh said as I rose to my feet and ran after him.

"Hey! Girl, come here!" A deep voice called out to me.

I spun around and saw the guy beside Marco motioning me over.

"Teach, leave her alone." Marco hissed as I walked up to them.

"Hey, what's your relationship with Rayleigh?" Teach asked with a frown.

"He's my adopted father." I said as I crossed my arms over my chest.

He let out a scuff and crossed his arms over his chest.

"Why would Rayleigh want a brat like you on his ship?" Teach asked with a huff.

"Teach, that's enough. Return to the ship now!" Marco snapped as he rose to his feet, getting between me and Teach.

"I was just asking a question."

"I don't care, you're out of line. Now back to the ship." Marco snapped.

Teach rolled his eyes and walked away, leaving me with Marco, who looked extremely pissed off. Marco turned to look at me and sent me a small smile.

"Sorry about-"

"I didn't need your help. I can fight my own battles, I'm not a child."

"I-"

I spun around and stomped away from him, making my way over to Rayleigh.

"Hey! (Y/n), come here!" Roger called out to me.

I spun around and found him sitting on the ground in front of Whitebeard and Oden. I walked up to him and sent him a smile.

"What's up, Uncle Roger?"

"Newgate wanted to talk to you." He explained as he patted the spot next to him.

I set down beside him and smiled up at Whitebeard.

"Tell me girl, how'd someone so young come across the Ide Ide no Mi?" Whitebeard asked with a small smile.

"Um... it's a long story." I said as I scratched the back of my neck.

"We have time." Roger said as he smiled down at me.

"Okay, well I was three when I found it." I explained.

(Sixteen years earlier) (3 years old)

I let out a whine as I clung to my mother's back, sand hitting me in the face.

"It's alright, love. We should be in Nanohana soon." My mother shushed as she pulled the blanket over my face.

"Is our little one restless?" My father asked with a laugh.

"Seems she isn't a fan of the sand." Mom explained.

"Aw it's going to be alright. We should arrive at Nanohana tomorrow and then we can rest." Dad said as he smiled down at me.

He took me from my mother and smiled as I buried my face in his chest.

"I wanna go home to Grangran." I whimpered.

"I know love, and we are almost there." My father shushed.

"Maybe we should rest up for the night? We still have a couple more days before we reach Alubarna."

"There's a cave up ahead, come on." Dad said as he patted my mother's back.

When we made it inside he set me down and worked on starting a fire, with my mother's help. I walked around the cave, smiling as I saw drawings on the walls.

"Here, how about you draw something; that way people know we were here." My mother said as she handed me a quill and ink.

I plopped down on the ground and smiled as I worked on drawing a giant Bananawani. I drew while my parents worked on cooking our dinner. My stomach grumbled and I set the quill down and walked deeper into the cave, hoping to calm my aching stomach with an adventure. I only stopped walking when I saw a tree standing in the middle of the cave. I walked up to it and smiled as I saw an apple on the tree. I got closer to the apple and frowned as I saw that it was purpleish blue. I reached for it and felt a giant grin spread across my face as I touched it with my finger. It fell and hit the top of my head, causing me to let out a whimper. I picked it up off the ground and looked it over, it looked good so I brought it to my lips and took a big bite of it. Instantly a sour taste hit my lips and I let out a whine. I forced myself to swallow the piece, hoping it would get better. When it didn't I threw the fruit down and rushed back to my parents.

"Hey, dinner is ready." Mom said as she sent me a smile.

"Come on, let's eat." Dad said as he picked me up.

I scarfed down my food, a giant grin on my face. I turned to look back at my drawing and smiled as I saw my parents drew little stick figures next to it of us. When morning came we started back up on our journey. My mother carried me, while my father packed our belongings. Everything was going great until the ground started to shake.

"Get to high ground!" My father yelled as he turned around and ran towards us.

My mother carried me over to some rocks, but as we started climbing a pair of Sandora Lizards grabbed my father. My mother called out to him, but he was thrown into a rock. She set me down on the rock and rushed over to him, hoping to help him.

"Momma!" I whined as tears streamed down my face.

The lizards moved towards me, their mouths open wide. I let out a sob and covered my face. I silently wished that we had a Bananawani to protect us. I felt my fingers burn and opened my eyes to see the Lizards run away from us. I slowly turned around and let out a gasp as I saw a giant Bananawani behind me. It leaned down and nudged me with its nose, causing me to laugh.

"What is a Bananawani doing here?" Mom asked in shock.

"(Y/n)... what have you done?" My father questioned as I hugged the Bananawani.

I turned to my parents a giant grin on my face as it picked me up and threw me into the air. It caught me and I let out a laugh and hugged it around the neck. My happiness was short lived as I felt my eyes lose focus. I slid off the Bananawani and hit the ground with a thump.

"(Y/n)!" My mother screamed as she ran up to me.

When I came to I was lying on my mother's lap, a wash cloth over my forehead. We were back in the cave and my father was no where to be seen. I heard footsteps and turned to see my father holding the fruit I had eaten.

"Sweetie, did you eat this?" Dad asked as he knelt down beside me.

"Yea and it tasted bad." I whimpered as I scrunched up my nose.

"Is that-"

"Yes, it's a devil fruit. I don't know which one though." Dad said as he looked it over.

Tears streamed down my mother's face as she pulled me into her arms and hugged me.

"My poor baby!" She cried.

I didn't understand why they were so sad, but I soon learned that I had lost the ability to swim and would forever be cursed with this gift. After a while we started our adventure up again, but we soon were stopped by some people on Sand Sleds.

"We mean you no harm." My father said as he held his hands up. "We are just heading to Nanohana."

"Give us all your belongings!" The pirates ordered.

My father threw down our bags and took a step back. I let out a whimper as I hid my face in my mother's shoulder. One of the women grabbed the bag and searched thru it.

"What's this? A devil fruit?" She asked with a giant grin.

"No, it's just an apple." My father said with a look of fear.

"It's been bitten into." She said as she handed it to her captain.

"Which of you ate this?" He growled.

"Non of us!" My father exclaimed.

"I did." I said as I poked my head out.

"(Y/n)!" My mother snapped.

"Well what do we have here?"

"Stay away from my family!" My father yelled as he stood between us and the pirate.

The pirate said nothing as the man behind him pulled out a pistol and shot my father. My mother let out a scream and covered her mouth as she took a step back. My father fell to the ground, his eyes wide.

"Hand over the girl and no one else has to die." The pirate said as he smiled down at my mother.

"I.... I'd rather die than give my daughter to you."  My mother hissed as she pulled me to her chest.

Without so much as another word my mother took off running. The man laughed as he ordered his men to chase after us. I let out a cry as I buried my face in her chest.

"It's going to be okay." Mom whispered as I heard the guns go off.

I felt my mother jolt forward as she slid down a slope. I let out a whine as she hit the ground, covering me with her body.

"Sweetie... mommy needs you to make another Bananawani." My mother pleaded.

"I don't know how!" I cried as I heard them run at us.

"Just... close your eyes and think about it." She pleaded as she pulled herself to her feet.

I did as she said and squeezed my eyes shut. I hoped the Bananawani would appear and save us from the pirates. I heard screams and felt my mother wrap her arms around me. She picked me up and forced herself onto her feet. I felt my body slump forward as I passed out. When I came to my mother was carrying me thru the sand.

"Momma... is daddy okay?" I whispered as I buried my face in her chest.

"He... daddy will be okay." Mom whispered as she rubbed my back.

I looked away from her chest and smiled as a city come into view.

"Look momma, it's Nanohana." I said happily.

I felt my mother's legs give out and she fell to the ground. I hit the ground and let out a whimper as my mother rolled over onto her back. I shook her as her eyes slid shut.

"Momma! Get up! Momma we are here!" I cried.

"Baby... momma is tired." She whispered as she reached forward and cuffed my face.

"But... we made it." I said as I felt tears streaming down my face.

Her hand slid down my face as her eyes closed. I shook her, but it did nothing as she payed on the ground limp.

(Present day) (19 years old)

"The trip was for nothing as my grandmother had died two months earlier." I explained as I brought my legs to my chest.

"I'm sorry, it must have been hard to live on your own." Whitebeard said as Rogers put an arm around my shoulder.

"It wasn't to bad. It took me awhile to figure out how to find food and water, but after a while I no longer had to deal with that anymore as I was found by Rayleigh and Uncle Roger." I said as I smiled up at Whitebeard.

"Well, should you ever grow tired of Rogers; my ship will always have a place for you." Whitebeard said as he sent me a smile.

"Oi! Stop trying to steal my girl! I found her fair and square!" Rogers exclaimed.

"I'm simply offering a place for her on my ship."

"Don't worry, Uncle Rogers. I have no plans of leaving you. I'm going to follow you with my last breath!" I exclaimed as I smiled up at him.

His smile faded as he stared down at me. His eyes softened and he let out a chuckle. For a second he looked somewhat sad, but the frown disappeared and he sent me a giant grin as he ruffled my hair up.

"That's my girl!" He exclaimed.

We made it back to the ship, taking Oden and his family with us.

A week later

I let out a sigh as I set on the railing and listened to Buggy and Shanks argue.

"It's the North Pole!" Buggy yelled as he grabbed onto Shanks shirt.

"No, it's the South Pole!" Shanks hissed as he roughly grabbed Buggy around the neck.

"The North Pole!"

"The South Pole!"

"You gonna keep this up?!"

"Yes, I am! Because I'm right!"

"Enough!" Rayleigh snapped as he smacked both of them over the back of the heads. "You guys fight all the time! Who cares which one is colder, the North Pole or the South Pole! If you really wanna know, go to both places and see yourself! Cool your heads, idiots!"

"Morons." I mumbled as I turned and walked into the Roger's room.

"What's up, kiddo?" Rogers asked as he sent me a smile, a napkin in his hand.

"Buggy and Shanks are arguing about the North and South Pole." I said as I plopped down in his chair.

"What will we do with those two?" Roger's asked with a laugh.

"Could throw them overboard?"

"(Y/n)." He said as he shot me a look.

"Joking." I said as I held my hands up.

"You should be nice to those boys, for all you know you could end up marrying someone just like then." He teased.

"Never, I plan to die alone and at sea." I said as I crossed my legs.

"You'll want someone one day. You won't like being alone." He said as he turned away from me.

"You don't have anyone." I said as I laid my head on his shoulder.

"I have my crew." He said as he sent me a smile and gently wrapped an arm around me.

"But I don't think you love love them." I said as he gave me a small squeeze.

"Maybe I don't love love my crew, but I love my crew a lot." He said as he turned and ruffled my hair up.

"See I don't need to love love someone." I said as I crossed my arms over my chest and pushed him away from me.

"Want to make a bet?" Rogers asked with a giant grin.

"What type of bet?" I asked as I shot him a look.

"I bet that in twenty years you will find someone to love and start a family of your own." He said as he knelt down to my height.

"I bet I'll never get married." I said as he held his hand out to me.

"Alright let's shake on it."

"What do I get when I win?"

"Bragging rights." He said as he smiled down at me.

"Deal!" I exclaimed as I reached forward and took his hand, shaking it.

"Roger! Come get these idiots before I kill them!" Rayleigh yelled from the deck.

"Come on, let's go save those idiots." Rogers said as he led me out of his room.

I turned to look at the napkin and frowned as I saw a patch of blood on it, before I could ask about it; I was dragged out of the room. I laid down on the top bunk and frowned as I tried to fall asleep. But the boys were keeping me awake by them talking.

"Rayleigh will never agree to this." Shanks hissed.

"That's why we don't tell him about it." Buffy hissed out.

"What are you two planning?" I asked as I looked down at them.

"Nothing!" They squeaked out.

"Tell me or I get Rayleigh."

"Fine! We are planning on sneaking out and looking around the island on our own." Shanks explained.

"I want in."

"No way!"

"Rayleigh-"

"Fine!" Buggy snapped. "But we have to go now."

"Let's go!"

I smiled as I jumped out of bed and grabbed my gear, a giant grin on my face. We snuck out and grabbed a row boat. It took us a good five minutes to make it to land and when we arrived it was in the middle of the night. I helped them drag the boat onto the shore, before we walked thru the jungle.

"This is awesome." I said as I shoved my hands into my pockets.

"It's beautiful." Shanks said as he followed behind me.

"It's okay." Buggy grumbled out.

"You know it's awesome." I teased.

"Okay it's awesome!"

I let out a laugh and grabbed his hand and dragged him behind me. Shanks ran after us, yelling for us to slow down.

"Look at that waterfall! It's so pretty!" I exclaimed as I looked up at it.

"I really wish I could swim right now." Buggy grumbled.

"You and me both." I said as Shanks made it to us.

"Wow! I can't believe there is a waterfall here! It's so big!"

"That's what she said." I teased.

"To someone other than Shanks." Buggy said with a laugh.

Before I could say something Shanks pushed Buggy into the water. My eyes went wide as I saw him go under the water.

"Shanks! He can't swim!" I exclaimed.

"I forgot!" He yelled as he dove into the water.

I helped him pull him back on the bank and pulled my coat off to wrap around Buggy.

"Okay I know you're angry, but let's not forget who pulled you out of that lake!" Shanks said as he stared down at us.

"LET'S NOT FORGET WHO PUSHED ME IN!" Buggy screamed.

I heard the sound of something snapping and we all turned around and found a group of Marines aiming their guns at us.

"I'm starting to see why the captain didn't want us on the island." Shanks said as we held our hands up.

"Really? I thought it was cause he was a kill joy." I said as I glared at Shanks.

They cuffed us and dragged us to their base. We were led to an interrogation room and cuffed to a table. A older man walked into the room, a frown on his face. I felt my heart stop as I realized we were staring at non other than Monkey D Garp.

"Alright, you three want to tell me what your names are?" Garp asked with a frown.

"Don't tell him anything, Buggy." Shanks hissed.

"So his name is Buggy." Garp said as he wrote it down.

"Nice going, Shanks!" Buggy snapped.

"And we have Shanks."

"Dammit!" Buggy yelled as he smacked his head down on the table.

"Now, little lady do you want to give me your name?" Garp asked as he turned to look at me.

"I'll spell it for you. It is super long so just be warned. G O F U C K Y O U R S E L F." I said with a giant grin.

He wrote it down without thinking, only stopping when he finished. He slowly looked up and shot me a glare.

"I bet you think you're real cute." Garp growled out.

"I think that I'm fucking adorable." I cheerfully replied, a giant grin on my face.

"Alright this can go one of two ways. One you tell me where your captain is and I spare you brats, or two you don't give me anything and I have you thrown in prison." He said as he leaned towards me.

"I like option one." Buggy said as his head shot up.

"We could do option three." I said as I leaned back in my seat.

"Option three? I didn't give you an option three." Garp said as he raised an eyebrow.

"Three is we stay quiet until our Captain comes and saves our sorry asses, which he will cause his first mate will kick his ass if he leaves us here." I said as I sent him a grin.

"What's your name, brat?" Garp asked with a snarl.

"Whitebeard the second."

Buggy let out a snort and looked away from me, as I smiled up at Garp. Garp must not of liked my joke as he hit the top of my head, causing me to let out a whine.

"ASSHOLE!"

"Name now! Or do I need to start taking fingers from your friends?" He asked as he pulled out a knife and roughly grabbed Shanks hands.

"Fine! It's (Y/n)! Silvers (Y/n)!" I exclaimed.

"You're Rayleigh's brat. The kid he adopted." He said as he let go of Shanks.

"Yea.... I'm Rayleigh's daughter."

He leaned back in his chair and let out a chuckle.

"That means your captain is-"

"Gold D. Rogers! And he is going to kick your ass when he learns that you have us!" I snapped.

He rose to his feet and a smirk spread across his face as he stared down at me.

"Then I should make sure he finds out where you are." He said as he turned and walked out of the room, leaving us in our seats.

"Captain is going to be so mad." Buggy grumbled.

"Not as mad as Rayleigh is going to be." I said as I let out a sigh.

"I think I feel safer here." Shanks said as he stared at the ground.

"Same."

Three marines came in and roughly grabbed us by the collars of our shirts. They dragged us to three different cells and threw us inside. I fell to the ground, skinning my knee.

"Be easy with her, asshole!" Buggy yelled.

I rolled over onto my butt and pulled my knee to my chest as tears streamed down my face.

"Are you okay?" Shanks asked as he and Buggy looked over at me.

"Do you think they will come for us?" I asked as I looked up at them.

"Of course they will! You're with us, there is no way Rayleigh is going to leave his favorite person in jail. Buggy and me, he would totally abandon, but he'd burn the world for you." Shanks said as he sent me a reassuring smile.

"He's gonna be so mad."

"Oh yea, we are totally going to be grounded until we die." Buggy said as he let out a sigh.

"Until we die? No we will be grounded even in the afterlife." Shanks said as he let out a snort, causing me to laugh.

The sound of gunfire caused us to all turn. The door blew open and I felt my smile grow as I saw Oden.

"Oden!" We exclaimed.

"Akataro! Buggyjiro! Little Silvers! You are all alright!" Oden exclaimed with a giant grin.

"How did you find us?" I asked as he opened the door.

"I followed you three onto the island." He explained. "I figured you'd be getting into trouble."

"Are you going to tell Rogers and Rayleigh?"

"Of course not!" He said as he let out a laugh.

"You're my favorite!" I exclaimed as I hugged him.

We made it out and I thought we were in the clear, but as soon as we made it to shore; Rogers was waiting for us with the crew.

"I see you four have been off on an adventure." Rayleigh hissed as he glared daggers at us.

"Hold on! Before you yell at us, let us explain ourselves!" Shanks exclaimed.

"Oh Really? Can you explain to me how you ended up locked in a marine prison?"

"Of course we can.... if you give us a minute to think of a convincing lie." Buggy said as he looked at the ground.

"It was my idea. Buggy and Shanks tried to talk me out of it, but I really wanted to explore the island. I'm sorry. Oden simply came to rescue us." I said as I stepped forward.

"I see... I'm disappointed in you. I had expected more from you, but I see you can't be trusted alone. Let's go, you're confined to your quarters until further notice." He said as he motioned for me to follow him.

"Wait! She can't take the blame!"

"Yea! She only came because we were planning on sneaking off! If she is being punished then we need to be punished with her." Shanks said as he and Buggy stepped forward.

"Then you will all be confined to your quarters for one week."

"Yes sir."

We made it to the ship and was sent to our rooms without any food. Rayleigh sent us to different rooms, I was placed in Rayleigh's room, Shanks in Rogers, and Buggy was left to sleep with the crew.

"What were you three thinking?" Rayleigh asked as he walked up to me.

"That we could go explore on our own." I said as I looked at the ground.

"You nearly got yourselves and our crew killed. You three owe everyone an apology." He snapped as he shot me a glare.

"I know."

He ran his fingers thru his hair and shook his head.

"I'm really disappointed in you. You're going to have to work hard to regain my trust." He said as he turned and walked out of the room.

I felt tears stream down my face as I pulled my knees to my chest. I let out a sob as I rolled over onto my side and buried my face into my pillow.

For the next month Rayleigh didn't say a word to any of us, and he kept us separated. He forced us to stay on different sides of the ship, and wouldn't allow anyone on the crew to speak to us.

I was mopping the deck when I saw Gaban walk up to Rayleigh.

"Rayleigh, don't you think this is gone on long enough?" Gaban asked with a frown.

"It will be long enough when I say it's long enough."

"They are just kids. Cut them a break, they have suffered enough." Gaban pleaded.

"No, they could have gotten someone killed. They are lucky that I'm not having them kicked off the ship, which I should do!" Rayleigh snapped.

"You wouldn't seriously kick your own kid off, would you?"

"Right now... I don't see her as my kid." Rayleigh said as he turned and walked away from Gaban.

...

I shoved my belongings in a bag as I felt tears streaming down my face.

I could hardly believe what I had heard, I knew Rayleigh was angry with us; but to say I wasn't his kid anymore hurt. We knew what we had done was wrong and we regretted it, what more did he want from us? I decided to wait until everyone was fast asleep before I snuck out to the deck and threw my bags onto a life raft. I wasn't going to stay in a place where I wasn't wanted, I'd leave and find a crew that wanted me.

"What are you doing?" A voice asked behind me.

I quickly spun around and went stiff as I saw Buggy and Shanks watching me.

"I'm leaving. I can't stay here any longer." I said as I wrapped my arms around my waist.

"That will destroy everyone." Shanks said as he walked up to me.

"Why should I stay? Rayleigh hates me." I said as I felt tears stream down my face. "He told Gadan that I wasn't his daughter anymore."

"I'm sure he didn't mean it." Shanks said as I covered my face.

"But he did. He doesn't want me on the ship anymore... so I'm going to leave. Maybe then he will lift your guys punishment." I said as I whipped my eyes.

"But... we don't want you to leave." Buggy said as he walked up to me. "You're our best friend, we can't do this without you."

"You're going to have to find a way to do it, cause I'm leaving... I don't want to be here any longer. I'm tired of worrying everyone." I said as I climbed onto the boat.

I wrestled with the ropes as they stood and watched.

"Please, don't do this." Shanks pleaded.

I got the ropes loose and turned to look at the boys one more time.

"Please, we can talk this out."

"I'm sorry, but I don't think talking will fix this." I said as I worked on lowering the boat.

I was thankful they didn't call out to the captain or Rayleigh, though I was sure they had wanted to.

I rowed away from the ship as I felt tears stream down my face.
