Ever since you've joined the CP9 crew you'd see him eyeing you.

Not that you were complaining about it however, he was adorable.

His big round eyes and his little blocky nose, oh your heart hurt even thinking about his cute face, and you'd always wanted to squeeze the life out of him with a hug!

But that'd be unprofessional, you'd agitate Lucci most likely and you'd get clawed.

Not feeling it today.

So you kept your distance, watching as he worked around with his little group while you walked around with Kalifa and Jabra.

"Y/n, tell me something "

"Hmm?"

"If you like that giraffe so much, why don't you just tell him hmm?"

Your cheeks flushed a deep red, your s/c skin heating up at the deliberate question.

"I don't want to interfere with his work-"

"He's interfering with your work unintentionally. When you work on your paperwork I see your little doodles..."

You gulp and chuckle nervously as Jabra snickered beside you.
"Ohohoho...do you write fan fiction too?"

"Shut up you damn mutt!"

You smack at the man beside you, a laughter filled howl ringing out through the hallway.

"No..I don't...I just like...doodling.."

"Yes of course."

Kalifa chuckles beside you, her clipboard held tightly to her chest.

"I saw this one, it had a little giraffe in the middle of a heart. Quite adorable."

You groan and look to the floor as the two of them exchanged a look.

"I have the documents on file."
"Kalifa!"

She giggles and adjusts her glasses, turning down another hallway.

"Oh hey look y/n, its Kaku."

Jabra chuckled as your face burst into an even brighter shade of red, a grin plastered across his face at your reaction.

"I hope that Lucci rips off your hide and hangs it up on the wall."

You smirked and walked into the room, sitting down at the table.

Kalifa had a smug look on her face as she sat beside Lucci, a bored look spread across his features.

"Spandam has given us orders to take out a target near base, not all that hard its just a loan shark that's been causing a bit of trouble around town."

The crew nodded, a small plan forming in the woman's mind.

"We'll be pairing up in twos, so, Jabra and Lucci," she winked at the two, "Y/n and Kaku." She giggled and looked down at the rest of the names, pairing everyone up.

You buried your face in your arms on the table, groaning quietly to yourself.

'I fucking hate you Kalifa..'

You sat up as everyone dispersed, Kaku walking beside you down the hall.

"So Y/n, you okay? You look a bit red around eyes."

"I-im fine...I'm a bit hot is all in these clothes.."

"Really? I wouldn't think so."

He chuckles and smiles looking ahead.

You look down at your clothes; eyes scanning over shorts and a tank top.

'Well damn, wonderful coverup'

You shake your head as you both make your ways down the street, people walking and conversing around the two of you.

You hum softly to yourself, trying your best to suppress your aching nerves.

You glanced over at the smiling giraffe man, a small smile pulling at your lips at his cute expression.

His eyes caught yours, a small pink tint coming across his light cheeks.

"Y/n? Are you sure you're alright?"
"Yes I am. One hundred and one percent I am a-okay!"

You smiled at him, your heart pounding in your ears.

He raised and eyebrow and chuckled grinning.

"Okay okay! I get what you're saying."

You breathe out, a cold sweat setting in as you got closer and closer to the destination.
Kaku glanced around the place before he continued on, a small frown apparent on his face as he slipped into a cramped space between two buildings.

You walked where he was, only to be pulled in with him, bodies pressed tightly together.

You blushed profusely, avoiding any kind of eye contact you could.

"Kaku why did you pull me in here!?"
"Because he has people patrolling around, I don't need them to catch sight of you and-"

He stopped for a minute and cleared his throat.

"I mean I don't want to get shot at because you wandered around aimlessly.."

A small nervous chuckle reverberates off the crumbling brick walls you were pressed against.

"Aha, I see."
"Y/n I didn't mean it like that-"
"Shh!"

You hush him, quickly peeking out to only be met with a bullet; nearly passing through your eye.

"Uh huh yeah no I'm not feeling the whole getting shot thing today, I think this is a jolly good spot to stay in."

You hiss up at the man pressed against you, a frown apparent on your features.

He looked down at you, eyebrow raised and the corner of his mouth twitching upwards.

"Mhm okay we'll get in trouble together then?"
"Ahahahahaa, no."
"We have to do something, or Spandam will-"
"Fuck that elephant loving prick Kaku! Just hush okay? I got it!"

You shimmied out of the small opening and slid against the wall, a steady eye trained on you as you went.

"Y/n...be careful.."
"I'm being careful!"

You rolled your eyes, biting your lip.

You could hear the heated arguments of the dog and cat not that far away, hissing and growling rippling through the tension breaking air.

Your eyes rolled to the back of your head.

"Oh my god.."

You turn your head around the corner, four individuals blocking a doorway.

Oh how inconvenient. What ever shall you do?

You looked over across the street to see the two animals ripping into one another; the dog and cat grappling and clawing.

You frown, whistling sharply at the two before they could come to terms with what the initial plan was.

You nodded towards the men in the alley, the two of them raising an eyebrow at each other.

'Rip them apart you idiots!'

The two blinked, rearing up on their hind legs before sprinting down into the alleyway, ripping into the flesh of the men.

You cringed at the sounds of breaking bones and ripping flesh, a shudder slithering down your back.

When the two came back, a bloody mess you'd put it, you looked down at the deserted door and grinned.

"Kaku come on!"

You watched him squeeze out of the small space, quickly coming up to your side.

"So, we need to get inside of there, and scavenge around the area to make sure we don't miss anything."

Lucci nods, scampering back over to the door and picking the lock quickly, the door swinging open.

He stood there waiting, the rest of you quietly entering inside as he closed the door behind him.

"There's three stories to this place, he's going to have people on every level."

"We have to search all of the levels if we want to get rid of all of these people."

"I say we split up and get rid of them quicker-"
"That's a stupid ass idea, if there's more people than we can handle on a level and we're by ourselves we'll be overrun-"
"Well then fine, just go head first packed in like sardines."

You run a hand through your hair as you listen to the two of them engage in a rather heated conversation.

About splitting up.

Good god.

You look at Kaku, a bored look on his face.

You grab his hand, quickly running up the stairs to the second story.

You look back at Kaku and smile, looking around for any kind of guard.

You heard someone heading your way, quickly ducking behind a wall, Kaku scrambling to hide behind another.

You heard the clicking of heels, poking your head around the corner to only see Kalifa.
You sigh and drag Kaku to her.

"Find anything?"

She nods.

"Mhm, he's upstairs dead however so we should probably go."

She walks down the stairs, you quickly dragging Kaku down with you as the others evacuated the area back to base.

You glance over to Kaku as you walk back, fiddling with your hands behind your back.

"Kaku...what you were talking about earlier with the whole...'I don't need them to catch sight of you' thing?"

He stopped in his tracks, his face turning up red.

"Aha nothing! Nothing that's what it was!"

You sigh and frown.

"Oh.."
"Y/n..."

You shake your head.

"No no I don't want to force you.."

You walk ahead, silently scolding yourself.

Damn.

Damn damn damn..

"Y/n! I just..I didn't want to see you get hurt...you..you mean a lot to me you know.."

You glanced back, turning on your heels as he tears in his eyes pooled at the corners.

"I..I didn't want to have to see you get shot and not be able to tell you..."

You step forward slowly, watching him.

"Tell me..what Kaku.."

He gulped shallowly, a blush brightening his cheeks.

"Tell you th-that...I love you...I love you okay!?"

You blink and process what had just happened; did this stuttering little mess of a giraffe man just confess his love to you?

You felt your mouth twitch upward as you wrapped your arms around him, pecking his cheek.

"Re-really..?"

"Y-yes..."

Your smile spread across your face, your eyes shining as you pressed your lips firmly to his, a sigh of relief washing over the both of you as you embrace one another.

"Excuse me, we're still in dangerous territory.."

You popped an eye open at Kalifa, who stood there with a smug looking grin.
