Buggy

The two of you wandered around, completely emerged in the colorful lights and sounds of the carnival.

It was one of your favorite places to go after all.

Buggy slid his hand into yours, gently giving it a squeeze as he pointed towards one of the many booths.

"Look over there Y/n! Isn't that one of the plushies you wanted last year?"

You looked over to notice the large prize hanging from the top of the booth. You nodded.

"Yeah, why you asking buggy boy?"

You knew why, it was the same as last year. The same booth with the same prize, and the same awful game that took your money.

He had tried for it last year to no avail, and it seemed nobody else had the luck to get it either.

But you knew he was determined, so you let him lead you over to the booth and sat you down beside him as he paid for the ten or so darts that he had to throw at the balloons.

"Buggy...you don't have to do this for me..."

You knew he was going to anyway, he loved proving himself to you, even if he didn't always do it successfully. Like that one drinking game with Shanks...

A resounding pop pulled you from your thoughts as you looked back at the board, one of the balloons was laying limply, popped.

You clapped softly.

"Good job baby, you're doing flashily!"

You giggled to yourself as he gave a triumphant smile, aiming back at the board and popping another one of the colored balloons.

You watched as the booth keeper scowled lightly, sitting back with a cigarette watching Buggy hit one after the other of his balloons.

Buggy popped a red one, then a blue one, then the booth keeper stood in front of the balloon board, blocking Buggy's way for the winning shot.

You crossed your arms over your chest and glared at the man as he tried to persuade Buggy into some 'deal'.

"Now listen here buddy, I got somethin for ya. You can't make the last shot on the same row."

He gestured behind him to the row of balloons that were popped.

"You gotta pop the ones up there to win the big prize for yer lady here."

He gestured to you as you looked over at Buggy with an uncomfortable look on your face as the man edged closer.

"I can do it, i'll even do it flashily!"

"Buggy you don't have too.."

You tried to protest, but he waved it away.

"Don't worry Y/n, I'm going to finally win that prize for you this year."

You rolled your eyes as you glanced up to the big red balloons at the top of the rows. No wonder people couldn't win any prizes.

Buggy to a last glance over at you as he gave you a small wink. You heard him mutter something and you smirked knowingly what he was doing.

You turned to the booth keeper, turning his attention away from the clown.

"So how long have you been working here for?"

You bat your eyelashes playfully as he adjusted his apron of money.

"Well little Missy, I've been here for six or so years."

You glanced over to the now spread apart buggy, his body gently floating up towards the winning balloon with a satisfied smirk.

You raised an eyebrow as you centered your attention on the drawn in booth man, his face closer than you had thought.

Before either of you could speak, a loud pop filled the air and the man turned to see Buggy leaning against the counter, no darts left in sight.

His gaze traveled to the one big red balloon that was missing from the top row. He gave a disgruntled groan.

Buggy laughed quietly to himself, as you pointed out the large prize at the top of the booth, the man grabbing it gently and handing it to you with an unsatisfied face.

You chuckled as the two of you walked away from the games and towards the food carts.

You leaned onto his shoulder as you held the large plush with both arms wrapped around it.

You kissed his cheek.

"Thank you, Buggs."

He only chuckled in reply as he wrapped an arm around you.

"No problem, doll I told you I'd get it for you this year, and do I ever fail you?"

You shake your head and roll your eyes with a smile.

"Who? You? Oh of course not!"

Your sarcasm leaked from your voice, and his face turned into a sour pout, lips cemented in a frown.

"Oh Buggy baby please don't do that, you don't look flashy like that!"

You tried to cheer him up as he dropped his hands and head to look at the ground.

You sighed and bent down the look at him with a small smile.

"Buggy don't make me."

His eyes widened.

"Y/n, no."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Then stop being so sad."

He glanced at you and you looked at him. Silence came over the both of you as he came back to his composure.

Suddenly then, you ran as fast as you could, holding the large animal to you closely. You didn't want to be in the middle of his rage.

You had just pinched Buggy's nose.

"Y/n!" His voice called from a good amount of distance away as you ran through the grounds and out into a little strip of buildings. You slid into an alley and stayed there panting softly.

It was eerily quiet as you waited.
Moments ticked by, but nothing happened.

You peeked out around the corner and saw nobody, you stepped out into the street but then yanked back quickly into the darkness of the alley.

"Where do you think you're going little miss thing?"

Buggy's voice was filled with frustration as he peered down at you with squinted eyes.

You swallowed thickly.

"I-i was just going to go back home...?"

Buggy chuckled darkly and threw you over his shoulder, carrying the large stuffed toy on his other.

"You're damn right you're going home, and you're not going to be able to go anywhere else...."

You chuckled dryly.

"B-but why n-not?"

He stopped abruptly.

"Because darling, you won't be able to walk."
