Avni

      Tillu knocked the door and Neela maa opened it. My jaws dropped when I came inside. It's beautiful.

" Avni chal na tera room dekhte hain " Riya said. My room ? I looks at Neil and he nods. He holds my hand and takes me to a room.

    I gasped when I entered inside the room. This room is looking like a princess's room. Tillu always says that I'm his barbie doll and I should live like a princess. He always puts me and my wishes first. My Tillu ( smile ).

    I runs to him and hugs him tightly as possible I can.

" Do you like it " Tillu asked hugging me. I nods.

" I love it. Thank you " I whispered in his ear. He broke the hug and wiped my tears from corner of my eyes.  He kissed my forehead. I smiled.

" Neil pandit ji achuke hain hai chalo puja kar lete hain " Neela maa said coming inside.

" Puja kyun maa " I asked.

" Neye ghar ke liye " she replied.

       This is best birthday of my life. I enjoyed alot. After puja we ate Neela maa's hand made yummy dishes. She made all favourite dishes of mine.

      Now we all are sitting on living room. I'm sitting between Tillu and Neela maa. Tillu's hand is wrapped around my shoulder and my head is on his chest. I'm very tired.

" We should leave now " Ali said and sat up with a jerk realising that now we wouldn't live in chawl. We spent our whole childhood with them in chawl. I will miss them. They are like my family. I pouts and looks down.

" Kya hua Avu " Tillu asked.

" I'll miss them " I said in a low voice.

" Avu don't be sad they are still our friends and we can go there whenever you want " Tillu said. I nods.

" Han aur hum college main bhi toh milenge " Sunheri said with a smile. I smiled back.

" Han bachcha udas mat ho aur apna dhyan rakhna ab hum chalte hain " Neela maa said. No, she can't go. She will stay with us.

" Nehi aap kehin nehi jaoge...aap hamare sath hi rahoge....Tillu dekho Neela maa kya keh rehin hain " I said holding Neela maa's hand. I won't let her go.

" Han maa aap yahin rehengi hamare sath warna hum bhi yahan nehi rehengi...aapke bina hamara ghar adhura hai " Tillu said. I nods.

" Main kahan wahan hamesha ke liye ja rehin hun Neil main wahan apni job ki wajah se ja rehin hun. Yahan se mera office bahut dur hai aur mera traveling main hi pura din chala jayega toh chawl main rehena hi mere liye thik rehega aur yeh mere job ka akhri saal hai uske baad main hum saath main hi  rehene wale hain " Neela maa said.

" Toh aap job chhod do " I said. She frowned.

" Bachcha sirf ek saal ki hi baat hai aur main yahan aate jate rahungi " Neela maa said. One year is a long period. No, I can't stay without her for a year.

" Par.." Tillu wanted to say something but Neela maa didn't let him say anything. We tried our best to stop her but she didn't listen to us. She is too stubborn and we had to agree with his decision.

" Neela maa dhyan rakhna apna aur maa kuch bhi zaroorat padi toh call kar dena " Tillu said. I hugged everyone one by one and lastly gave a tight hug to Neela maa. Whenever she get time, she promised me to come here. They all went leaving us alone.

Neil

    Avu didn't like Neela maa's decision of staying in chawl for one year and I too didn't like that but Neela maa didn't listen to us. Lastly unwillingly we agreed with her decision.

    Avu is sitting in balcony with a sad pout on her face. She is missing Neela maa. Today is her birthday and I don't want her to upset on her birthday. I have to do something to make her happy.

     I went to balcony and sat beside her.

" Avu, close your eyes " I said.

" Tillu, please don't irritate me " she said and looked away. I sighed and forcefully pulled her to my lap.

" Tillu, what are you doing "

" Shhh.. close your eyes " she frowned and closed her eyes.

    I holds har hand and puts a Cadbury dairy milk silk heart pop chocolate on her hand. It's her favourite chocolate.

" Now open your eyes " she opened her eyes and a small smile appeared on her face. Usually she starts dancing when I bring chocolate for her but she is really missing Neela maa.

  She hugged me putting her head on my chest.

" I know you did this to make me happy but how can I be happy without Neela maa " she whispered against my chest. I held her more closely and kissed her hairs.

" Me too Avu, our home and life both are incomplete without her. She is with us always and we can meet her anytime we want. Only one year Avu and she will be with us forever" she hummed.

" Till then I have to bear you alone " she hits my chest and glared at me. I chuckled.

" Achha, so you are bearing me " she crossed her arms over her chest. I shook my head negatively. I'm gone. She wouldn't spare me now.

" Not at all, Avu " she glared at me like she will eat me alive.

" Avu, forget it na, let's eat chocolate. Give me I will unwrap it " I tried to take the chocolate from her but she didn't let me.

" Only I'll eat this and you will watch me eating this. This is your punishment " she smiled. What ? No please, I want it too.

" Avu " I pouts but she didn't melt and pocked her tongue out.

     She unwrapped the wrapper of  chocolate slowly like she was teasing me. She held the chocolate in her hand and popped out the heart. She shows me the heart and teases me.

" You want it, tillu " she asked me and I nodded my head immediately.

" But I won't share with you " she pocked her tongue out again.

    She took a bite from the heart and I only stared at her reaction. She always shares her chocolate with me, specially the heart but this time she didn't. I pouts and looks away.

" Aww...tillu gussa ho gaya " I didn't respond.

    I heard her melodious giggles and looked at her. She is giggling and her hair is flying freely in the air. It's night and she is shining like moon. A smile automatically appears on my face.

    She brings the heart near my mouth and I takes a small bite of it. She eats the rest of it. I smiled.

" Bas ho gaya aur nehi milega " she said and  started eating the chocolate bar messily. Her fingers and mouth are covered with chocolate. I shook my head in disbelieve. She is still a kid. I chuckled. My Barbie doll.

" Finished " she said showing her empty hand which she cleaned by licking it but her mouth still have chocolate.

    I picked her in my arms and took her to kitchen. I sat her on kitchen counter and washed her face then wiped it.

" Now go and sleep, you have college tomorrow "

" Alone " she is looking horrified.

" Avu, I'll sleep next to your room. Don't be scared "  she scared of ghosts and she never sleep alone yet. Me or Neela was always there for her.

"No, what if I sleep alone and ghost will come ? He will take me with him. No...no... I can't sleep alone, please sleep with me in my room " she pleads holding my hand.

" Avu relaxe, I'm with you. Nothing will happen, okay " I said cupping her face with my free hand. " I'll sleep with you "  She sighed in relief.

" Go to your room I'll be there in 2 minutes " she nods and runs to her room.

     I locked all the doors and windows and then switched off the lights. I came to her room and found her jumping on her bed.

" Avu, what are you doing ? You will brake your bed " I tried to catch her but she kept on moving here and there.

     I sighed and climbed on bed too. I held her hand and sat her forcefully on bed. She is still bouncing and trying to free herself from my cage.

" Avu, it's not a trampoline that you were jumping on it " she pouts.

" It's so soft soft Tillu "  she says and giggles. I chuckled and layed her down.

" Ok, now sleep " I covered her with blanket and kissed her forehead. She smiled and closed her eyes.

    I switched off the table lamp. The only light coming inside is moon light through the window. I layed beside her and she shifted her head to my chest. I don't want more than anything besides this. We have our own home now and Avu is in my arms sleeping peacefully. What more I can ask for ? I only wants to pray God that keep my Avu always happy and safe.
I wrapped my hand around her and fell in sleep.
