Chapter 12.
Chapter 12:
I ran down to the primary school as fast as my legs would take me, Katie was right, it wasn't that far down the road. I looked at the sign to the left of the building that said 'Welcome to Brooksquare Primary School' and I walked through the doors into reception; the room was full of empty chairs and the only person in here was the receptionist. "Hello, can I help you?" she smiled politely once she had noticed my presence.
"Erm, yes, I was wondering where Faith Williams is? She is teaching music today." I replied, hoping she would show me to her.
"Ah yes Faith, she is currently with a year three class." she smiled again.
"May I go and see her?" she thought about it before answering. "She asked me to help her today." I lied, hoping she would believe it.
She nodded in understanding, before giving me a visitors pass, "How thoughtful of her, a lot of the girls are One Direction fans. The children are going to be very happy that you're here." she giggled before leading me to a classroom door. "She's in here. Have fun!" she exclaimed before walking off and presumably returning to her desk in reception. I took a deep breath in and sighed, my smile turned upwards as I thought about the surprise, she's not going to know what's hit her. I knocked on the door three times...
---{Faith's POV}---
I had my lovely year three class today. They always welcome me with open arms and always tell me how much they love my music class - which I find very sweet!
I sat in my normal spot at the front of the class as the children sit cross-legged on the floor, their little faces looking up at me in awe as they listen to my every word. I decided to teach them how to sing the children's song 'BINGO' as a warm up and then let them decide what song to sing. Considering the majority of the class are eight year old girls, they decided to sing a One Direction song, they chose to sing 'Gotta be You' but considering the boys didn't like that song, I was forced to chose one myself for the class. So instead I chose one with a sweet piano introduction and a beautiful melody that the kids voices would sound amazing to; I'd gone onto the Internet to find it of course and resulted in finding a cover someone had put up, but nevertheless I chose 'They Don't Know About Us'. All of the kids were happy with my choice and so we immediately started practicing. For a bunch of eight year olds they really are talented, they managed to pick it up fairly easily. We were just about to go through a full run of it when we were interrupted by three knocks.
"ENTER!!" all of the kids yelled simultaneously making me giggle, I taught them that! I turned my head to look at the door and saw a familiar head of curls peek around it. I heard several gasps from the girls as they whispered knowingly to each other. My jaw dropped, why is he here?
He walked fully into the room and closed the door behind him. It was then that every single girl in the class ran over to Harry and bombarded him with hugs, whereas my eyes remained wide and focused directly onto him. I sat frozen in a state of shock as his green eyes met mine, making me melt as he exposed his dimples and walked even closer to me. He bent down to my level and whispered in my ear, "Surprise." he chuckled, my shocked expression turning into a smile as I looked at him, my grin widening and my dimples mirroring his.
I rolled my eyes as he grabbed a chair and sat down next to me at the front, directly opposite the children. "What are you doing here?" I whispered, giggling playfully, "I'm in the middle of a class."
His smile changed into a cheeky smirk as he flashed me his visitors badge, "I've come to assist you in your lesson Miss Williams." he smiled and nudged my shoulder. I rolled my eyes again playfully and turned back to the kids.
"Right everyone, this is Harry. Harry this is my year three music class." I introduced. Harry waved and smiled, the children mirroring his actions. "You're just in time, we were about to do a full run through." I smiled turning my head towards him. "Okay guys, show Harry how amazing you are!!" I smiled at them. They took a big intake of breath as I turned to the electric keyboard beside me, I nodded and started to play the songs introduction; I had split them up into five groups, with five kids in each group, the first group began to sing:
'People say we shouldn't be together,
We're too young to know about forever,
But I say they don't know, what they talk talk talkin' about'
They all smiled at me and I nodded in enthusiasm, insinuating that they had done well to start. Then the second group began to sing,
'Cause this love is only getting stronger,
So I don't wanna wait any longer,
I just wanna tell the world that you're mine girlll,
Ohh'
When they had finished, they all took a big intake of breath, all five groups singing the chorus.
'They don't know about the things we do,
They don't know about the I love you's,
But I bet you if they only knew,
They will just be jealous of us,
They don't know about the up all night's,
They don't know I've waited all my life,
Just to find a love that feels this right,
Baby they don't know about,
They don't know about us'
I smiled as they sung their hearts out, putting every inch of strength and effort they had into their words, making them more meaningful as they continued to sing.
'Just one touch and I was a believer
Every day it gets a little sweeter
It's getting better
Keeps getting better all the time girl'
The third group sang, making me laugh slightly as one of the little girls attempted to wink at Harry, I was unable to control my giggles; Harry turned to me and chuckled, obviously seeing what she had done too.
'They don't know about the things we do
They don't know about the I love you's
But I bet you if they only knew
They will just be jealous of us
They don't know about the up all night's
They don't know I've waited all my life
Just to find a love that feels this right
Baby they don't know about
They don't know about us'
All of the kids sang again for the chorus, some doing arm movements and some swaying slightly as the got into the song.
'They don't know how special you are
They don't know what you've done to my heart
They can say anything they want
Cause they don't know about us'
I glanced at Harry and noticed he was mouthing the words as he watched the children in awe, his smile never leaving his face as he listened to their innocent little voices sing.
'They don't know what we do best
That's between me and you our little secret'
The fourth group gave it their all, not able to stop smiling at Harry.
'But I wanna tell em
I wanna tell the world that you're mine girl'
The fifth group added, all taking another large breath as they prepared for their final chorus.
'They don't know about the things we do
They don't know about the I love you's
But I bet you if they only knew
They will just be jealous of us
They don't know about the up all night's
They don't know I've waited all my life
Just to find a love that feels this right
Baby they don't know about
They don't know about us'
They held on the last note cutely, me and Harry applauded them as they all took a little bow. The smiles on their faces touching their eyes, "Well Done guys!!" I clapped and gave them a thumbs up, smiling happily. They did so well! "So Harry what did you think?" I turned to him and smiled.
He sighed and smirked, "You guys are amazing! Better than we are, we'll have to be careful!" he exclaimed giving some of them high-fives, the children all giggled and sat down in their previous places. I glanced at the time on my phone and noticed it was lunch time.
"Right guys! Well done! You were amazing today! It's lunch time now so I'm leaving," they all pouted and 'awwed' at my leaving, "but I'll be back next week!" I winked at them, hearing them all cheer. "Thank Harry for coming in guys." I said.
"THANK YOU HARRY!!" they smiled at him and waved. A few of the girls saying 'I love you' to him as he headed for the door, he held it open and saluted them all. They walked through the door and went out for lunchtime, saying goodbye to me as they left. I picked up my bag and coat and walked out of the room, Harry following closely behind.
"Hey Karen!" I smiled at the receptionist Karen as I handed her my visitors badge, Harry doing the same.
"Hey Faith! How was the music lesson?" she asked taking them off of us.
"It was good, the kids were amazing as per usual." I smiled, "I'll see you next week." I waved and we walked out the front doors. "So tell me, what was the surprise for?" I asked smirking slightly at him as we walked towards my car.
"Well I have something to tell you." he smiled happily.
"Is it good news or bad news?" I asked curiously, opening the drivers side of my car and turning the ignition on. Harry sat in the passenger seat and I began to drive in the direction of my house.
"It's good." he smiled. "I didn't know you taught a music class at a primary school?" he asked furrowing his eyebrows in confusion. I noticed he had changed the conversation quickly but I decided not to ask.
"There are a lot of things you don't know about me Harry." I replied cheekily, giving him a smirk as I drove home. I pulled up outside of my house and got out of the car, locking it and making my way to the front door before Harry stopped me.
He grabbed my wrist lightly and pulled me in the opposite direction, "Come with me." his low husky voice spoke as he led me towards Regents Park. I furrowed my eyebrows still smiling at him as we strolled through one of the parks entrances. "Tell me." he murmured, letting go of my wrist gently and shoving his hands in his pockets.
"Tell you what?" I asked.
"Tell me the things I don't know about you." he smiled looking at me shyly, "I want to know everything." I bit my lip and blushed at his words, he actually wanted to learn more about me.
We sat down on an open space that was secluded from the rest of the park, and allowed us quick access if Harry was spotted, "I don't know where to start," I giggled nervously. He lay back, supporting his weight on his elbows as I lay on my from next to him, also supporting my weight on my elbows.
"Tell me about your family." he reccomended. My family was always a touchy subject.
"I don't have one anymore Harry. My parents were all I had left, and you already know what happened with them." I reasoned.
"Okay what about Sarah and Nicole, they're you're best friends. How did you meet them?" he asked smiling.
"I've known them my entire life," I answered, my fingers playing with the soft grass beneath me, "we grew up together. They were my neighbours first, we went to the same schools and colleges, and then when my parents died they looked after me." I smiled remembering the times they made me laugh and all the nights they stayed with me when I couldn't sleep because of guilty nightmares, "I owe them a lot."
His eyes remained on me, not looking anywhere else as I continued to fiddle with the grass nervously. I glanced up at him and was met by his green orbs. His eyes. They made my stomach automatically flip. My blush worsened and I looked back to my fingers, hiding the smile on my face as I was unable to look at him without looking like a tomato. He chuckled at my actions and lay back completely, turning his head in my direction and faced me. I continued to lie on my front, supporting myself with my elbows enabling me to tower him slightly. "More." he said simply.
I thought about all the different things I could tell him. "Okay. My favourite film is Notting Hill, my favourite sweets are the Pick and Mix, I was considering getting a puppy and calling it Pip, my favourite colour is lilac, I love to sing and I can play the piano." I ended looking down at him as he smiled, biting his tongue.
"Haribo's are the best sweets." he responded making my jaw drop.
"We can no longer be friends." I replied playfully.
"Fine by me." he added, turning his head away from me dramatically, I smirked.
"Fine." I grabbed my bag and started to get up and leave, only to be pulled back down and onto his chest.
"No, don't leave," he pouted, embracing me tightly. My hearty laugh erupted as he pressed my head further into his chest, allowing me to feel his heartbeat against my cheek. I smiled, I could get used to this.
"HEY YOU TWO! NO FUNNY BUSINESS!" I heard a familiar voice yell, knowing it was the one and only Louis Tomlinson. We both turned our heads at the same time and saw Louis holding Eleanor's hand as they walked towards us. It was then I realised that I was still lay on top of Harry. Embarrassedly, I looked at him and blushed, crawling away him and attempting to hide my face in my hands. Harry just chuckled at me, making me blush even further - he seems to do that to me a lot. "I see you've moved on." Louis spoke, directing his words at Harry, who just looked widely in my direction.
"What do you mean?" I asked curiously, somewhat scared to hear the answer.
"Ohh, you haven't told her yet?" Louis asked making Harry shake his head slightly, thinning his lips. Louis jumped up and down in happiness and he sat cross-legged like a child on the floor, pulling Eleanor down with him; who remained quiet and giggled at his actions, "Go on tell her. Tell her." Louis instructed to Harry, unable to contain his excitement.
I turned my body to face Harry, furrowing my eyebrows as I still didn't understand what was going on, "Tell me what?" I asked nervously. His eyes poured into mine, sparkling more than they normally do, like a weight has been lifted off of his shoulders. He almost seems... happier.
"Well, I broke up with Laura this morning." he smiled slightly, evidently happy with his decision. My mouth dropped and I raised my eyebrows in disbelief. Harry stifled a laugh, "Don't look so shocked." he chuckled. I turned my head to glance at Louis who was fist pumping the air.
My hand covered my mouth as I let out a sharp breath and smiled, relief washing over me knowing that I would never have to see her again. "You actually broke up with her?" I asked to which he nodded, "And she definately knows that you two are over?" I asked just to clarify. He nodded, unable to keep the wide grin from appearing on his face, making him bite his lip. "What made you change your mind?" I asked in curiosity, he always seemed so reluctant to do it before.
"You." he answered simply, shocking me a little.
"Me?" My voice questions confidently in disbelief.
"Yeah," he noticed the confused look on my face and continued, "When the lads first told me they didn't like her I just thought they were being dramatic and wanted me to focus more at work, but, when I met you, everything changed." I smiled at his mini speech, "I just wanted to protect you, to look after you. And when I saw how upset you were after she threatening you and how hurt you were after she hit you, I realised that I was the reason that you were in pain, even though I was supposed to be protecting you from it." he smiled making me return the gesture. "You made me realise what the meaning of natural is, and reminded me of trust. You made me realise that it was you I wanted, someone who cares about the person underneath and not just the external picture." he smiled, blushing slightly.
After a few moments of silence, I responded cheekily, "I want, gets nothing." I giggled playfully as he smiled and pulled me into a bone crushing hug, falling back and pulling me on top of him like before. I couldn't help but laugh at his gesture and tickle his sides, freeing myself from his grasp. "You seem a lot happier." I smiled, liking this side of him.
"I am when I'm with you." he smiled, my blush burning my face as I bit my lip, trying to hide my obvious grin.
"Aawwww!!!! Harry you're so cute!" Louis gushed and pinched Harry's cheek. Harry slapped his hands away as Louis stood and helped Eleanor up, "Well, we're gonna get going. I'll see you tomorrow at sound check Harry." Louis smiled and waved at us as they left.
"I thought you finished your tour?" I asked.
"Yeah we did, we have one last show tomorrow night though." he smiled helping me up off the grass. I nodded in understanding, he then lay his large warm hand on the small of my back and walked me home - there was never an uncomfortable moment with Harry, even in our silences I felt safe around him, like he understood me perfectly and I never needed to say anything because he felt the same way I did.
We reached my front door and I turned to him smiling uncontrollably, he grabbed my waist softly and pulled me closer to him; My smile appeared as my arms wrapped themselves around his neck and pulled him towards me, allowing my face to rest against his chest and we embraced - the warmth of our bodies intwined as we remained in the same position for a few moments.
Reluctantly, he slightly pulled away, his burning eyes staring into mine before flickering down to my lips, my stomach erupted in butterflies, knowing what was going to happen next; he moved in and was inches away from me before I interrupted him, "Harry?" I whispered, my minty breath brushing against his face.
"Mhm?" he mumbled.
"You broke up with Laura this morning." I sighed annoyingly wondering why I'm stopping him, "I know I'm not very fond of her but I still don't want to be disrespectful."
He sighed and his eyes moved back up to mine, my face soft and apologetic knowing I had ruined the moment, "it's okay," he whispered, smiling slightly, "I understand." He raised his hands and retrieved mine from around his neck, holding them in his own. He raised his right hand that was holding my left one and pressed his lips to the top of my hand in a loving gesture, his eyes remained on me and he moved a loose strand of hair from my face. His thumb grazed my cheekbone lightly as his left hand cupped my face, "I'll see you soon." he whispered, smiling at me. I exposed my dimples and watched him walk down the steps of my house and through my front garden, closing the small white gate behind him. He smiled one last time before he walked off, disappearing down the street. That boy has no idea what he does to me!
