Isaac was seated in the inn at the edge of the city, people stayed as far as they could away from him. Drinking hard ale he was relaxed, ignoring the large group of soldiers that surrounded him, with Ureldor at the front.
Urelodr: You said you wouldn't cause trouble. I knew I shouldn't have trusted you.
Isaac: I did say, didn't i. But let me ask you sometn'. Let say you had a missus.
Ureldor: I don't and where are you going with this even.
Isaac: You dumbass, I know you ain't got no lady. But hypothetically lets say you did. When she were to tell you to do sometn', would you disobey her order?
Ureldor: What in the world are you saying?
Isaac: All I am saying, my missus told me to kill that bastard and I gladly did kill his sorry ass. I don't regret it, if anything, it was too quick.
Ureldor: You know that you will be arrested and sentenced to hanging. That was a pretty severe crime you did and even if you escape his folk will track you down.
Isaac gulps down the cup and stands up, walking up to Ureldor until he face to face with him. Eye to eye.
Isaac: There won't be no escaping cause I you won't arrest me. All secondly, let em' come, more bastards to kill is always welcome.
Ureldor: You are surrounded, we sure as hell will take you in, criminal demon. It is one of you against the twenty of us, including me.
Ureldor shows no fear, but then feels something hard poking into his stomach and looks down, it is one of the guns that Isaac carries which he doesn't understand in the slightest. But judging by the damage done to that slave trader it is strong and not to be underestimated.
Ureldor: You wouldn't dare to kill me and even if you do, these men will surely make quick work of you. Not counting the folk that sit inside.
Isaac: You think I am scared of these husks of strong men. You don't know nothing about me, but I can assure you, they ain't enough.
Ureldor: I see you are spinless, willing to abuse the gift of trust the family gave.
Isaac: I ain't abusing it, it is just there to show I ain't no immediate threat.
Isaac could feel each stare, but one was more intense than the others. It wasn't nowhere to be found, but he could feel it, they stare bores into his skin.
Isaac: Come out ye who is so damn interested in me. There ain't no reason to hide, I won't hurt ya.
There is silence in the inn, people looking at each other, trying to figure out what he is talking about. People wonder has he gone crazy, maybe he was always crazy. But after that prolonged silence, a high pitched female voice is head.
???: Who are you?
Everyone turns their head to the source of the noise and they see a small fairy that had just emerged from a backpack of one of the adventurers that was sitting.
Isaac: A little fairy, not that I didn't expect. Haha. It is nice to meet you kid.
Fairy: Who are you? What are you?
Isaac: Isn't it customary to first introduce yourself?
Buttercup: I am Buttercup. Again, I ask, who are you?
Isaac: Nice to meet you lady, name's Isaac. Now tell me, why were you so interested in me?
Buttercup: You are odd, something is strange with you but familiar.
Isaac: Ain't the first time someone called me weird and odd. At least try kid.
She flew up towards them, breaking the hard ice that had formed between the mage and Isaac. She flies around Isaac, looking all around, something about him is strange. A aura, a power that is so familiar.
Ureldor: Listen up fairy, back away. This is a dangerous man right here. Hey, bastard, control your little pet.
The man that the fairy was came forward, an older gentleman.
Buttercup: Shut up old hag.
Isaac chuckles.
Man: Please, Buttercup, let's go. Please don't cause me trouble.
Buttercup: Tell me! Why are you so familiar?
Isaac face contorts into a grin. Making Buttercup feel chills run down her whole body, looking into those bright eyes, piercing into her soul.
Isaac: Any why should I tell you?
Buttercup: Because I demand it!
Isaac: Hahaha. Nyx would be so disappointed in you kid, though, I am guessing you have never heard of her.
Buttercup: Who is Nyx?
A cup is heard falling onto the floor, once again making everyone turn their attention to the source. A young man, his eyes opened wide, as if he had just heard his worst nightmare be named.
Isaac: What got you so scared little man?
The young man looks around, mostly at the exit. Isaac lowers his guns away from Ureldor and is now filled with curiosity. This man clearly knows Nyx, somehow, somewhere, but judging by his reaction, it seems that he didn't want to hear her name. He immediately aims one revolver at him and cocks back the hammer.
Isaac: Answer me kid. Why are you so scared?
Ureldor: What the hell is going on?
The young man throws a knife at quick speed at Isaac but misses. He probably hoped he would hit. Isaac in return chuckles,
Isaac: Well ain't that cute.
With the pull of the trigger he shoots the young man in the stomach, everyone ducks down and covers their ears and the young man falls onto the ground, holding the wound. Isaac slowly approaches. Pressing the gun against his head, cocking back the hammer once more.
Isaac: Tell me, or I swear my face will be the last thing you see.
Man: He, he made us do it.
Isaac: Who?
The man points to someone behind Isaac and so he looks back, pointing at the priest that came in. Who stands there shocked.
Isaac: He made you do what?
Man: To capture those little fairies. He said they were a creation of demons but I found out that was a lie. My momma told me they were fairies. Like that one. Just different.
Isaac: Oh really? Well now, that is for sure interesting. This does make things more interesting. Tell me, do you love your momma?
Man: I do, more than anything in this world.
Isaac: Then why would you do something so stupid?
Man: I needed coin, momma is ill and we needed coin for the medication.
Isaac smiles, he respects the cause. Pulling out a couple coins he gives it to kid and turns his attention back to the priest who is now shaking in his shoes. Walking slowly up to him.
Ureldor: What the hell is going on? Priest, explain?
Priest: I have no clue what that heathen is saying. I have not done any sinful deed, he is a criminal, look at him.
Isaac: I think the kid is a criminal, but he is a good kid, did it for a just cause. So, you are the mastermind?
Ureldor: Isaac, explain, why are you so interested in all of this. You don't look like a liberator and a hero of sorts.
Isaac: That is true, I ain't no hero, but my Mistress does want revenge for her people.
Buttercup: What do you mean by that?
Isaac points the gun at the priest who flinches, recounting the moment he was shot before.
Isaac: You are so obsessed with your religion, with you purity that you defile bodies of a queens children! You ain't nothing but a demon yourself. And from experience, with men like you, there is so much to dig up, be it under the church, under your home or in the river.
Priest: You demon. How dare you spout out such lies? To try and deceive the innocent folk to your cause.
Isaac: But I ain't no demon, am I?
The priest goes silent. Taking a large gulp as his eyes begin to dart between every single person in the inn that is staring at him.
Isaac: Ureldor, I am truly disappointed. You, such a great mage as you said it yourself don't appear to know of Nyx. How much has she been silenced? Is breaks my heart. Or was she demonized?
Pointing the gun he slowly pulls the trigger but he doesn't shoot the priest and instead shoots the ceiling, scaring everyone and putting the purest of fear into the priests soul. A small trail flows down and falls onto the ground, droplets that form a large puddle.
Isaac: Hahaha, you wet yourself. You truly are pathetic. A grown man of faith to fall so low, you truly were a man of a weak will.
Priest: P-Please don't kill me. I promise I'll do anything.
Isaac: You should have prayed to your god for salvation then.
Priest: What? Aghhh....
The priest slowly looks down as he feels a surge of pain coming from his abdomen and only to see Isaacs hand dug into it. But soon, his vision is gone as Isaac jabs his fingers into the eye sockets. The priest screams as he feels his guts getting ripped out from his body and soon his screams turn to obscene noises as his jaw is ripped open and to finish off shot in the head. The people gasp and scream in horror as Isaac keeps on stomping the head of the priest, turning it into mush, chunks of bone mix with flesh. Covered in blood Isaac finally calms down, holstering his guns and straightening out his suit. Letting out a sigh of relief.
Isaac: Haaa, that was nice.
The people look in horror.
Isaac: What, you acting like I just killed a man in one of the most brutal way imaginable. Honestly, so judging.
No one dared utter a word, not even Ureldor who looked completely shocked. He just witnessed a psychopath murder, no massacre a man in such an ungodly way. And he can still crack a joke and laugh, like killing comes completely natural to him. Maybe it does.
Isaac: Well, since yall don't plan on moving, I am getting out of here. I wish yall the best in life and would be honored if you looked into the places I mentioned. Who knows what you are to find? Hahaha.
Isaac walks out of the inn, in complete silence and gets on his horse. Galloping away he looks back and sees the soldiers running out. But they ain't catching him. He isn't stopping, he moves onto the next town, next village. Though, this time, heading down a path leading to some kind of town that seems to have been deleted by history. It's sign all crooked and damaged, worn out by time to the point you can't see the name anymore. He and Palegrim gallop, like death, riding, enjoying their freedom. The scenery around quickly starts to darken, trees become more vile, evil lurks in the air. The clouds above them go from clear skies to an everlasting rain. And once reach a small hill, in the distance, there is a town. A dark and miserable looking town, probably filled by rejects of society, a perfect place for him. Much crime there, much killing that needs be done.
