IV

Isaac wakes up in a comfortable bed made of leaves and moss, next to him is the Queen herself, Nyx. A smug spreads across his lips, what a wild night he had. As her eyes flutter open she smiles upon laying eyes on him.

Isaac: Sleep well?

Nyx: I can't believe that we did what we did. To dabble in such mortal affairs.

Isaac: But it was fun, wasn't it.

Nyx: I won't deny that, I had not felt more full in a long long time. Are you proud of yourself?

Isaac: More than proud. But, what now?

Nyx. Not a word to anyone, you hear me or I will personally murder you ten thousand times over.

Isaac: I wouldn't dare, Your Majesty. Hahaha. But going back to what I asked first, what now? You wanna come with me or stay here, in this boring ass life.

She looks past me, clearly thinking. Her thoughts race, for millennia she had stayed here, completely neglected, forgotten. Not a soul cared about her apart from her little fairies and here he came, not only  showing her a good time but offering to tag along with his adventures. But it pains her to decline such a offer, she still has a duty, no matter how boring or pitiful it can be.

Nyx: I would love to, but, I am tied to this place by an old duty that I am destined to uphold. I am truly sorry.

Isaac: Damn, but I don't want our time to end here. Is there a way that I could come and visit you from time to time, talk to you even?

Nyx thinks for a second then a idea pops up in her head. She climbs on top of Isaac, surprising him.

Isaac: Woah lady, I didn't know you wanted to go for another round.

Then, from her hand a soft glow flutters and on his clavicle a small crest appears, a intricate small symbol. Did she have to do climb on top of him, absolutely not, but she wanted to.

Isaac: What is that?

Nyx: Your are now mine, my property.

Isaac: Now listen here lady, I ain't no ones property, I ain't no slave, I am a free man.

Nyx: No, no, not like that. You are under my protection, my blessed follower you can think. Though, that would make you a double blessed which is certainly rare.

Isaac: Blessed, double blessed?

Nyx: Yes, you carry my blessing, though it is naught special, but the second one, one that I had not witnessed ever. It remains hidden, but I can see it, in your very soul. Neither good nor evil, it is a power of itself, not bound by our laws.

Isaac: Aha, now I will pretend that I understood what you said. So, now I could contact you?

Nyx: Yes, both in person and through your dreams and mind.

Isaac: Neat. I am sorry, but I do kind of have to go, my horse has been waiting for a little longer that I originally thought.

Nyx: But be quiet, you can't let anyone see you.

Isaac: But of course.

As Isaac dresses himself up, putting the hat back on and giving a one final kiss to Nyx he leaves. Doing as she told, carefully walking around until he is finally out of the realm. Only to find that it is still night. Now, either the time in there passes differently or his eyes are deceiving him. Nevertheless, he jumps onto his horse and rides off with a smug. And of course, for a change, he changed up his arsenal. Now wielding dual Colt Walkers, a .44 behemoth of the Wild West.

As he rides off into the sunrise, in the very distance, in the clearing from the endless woods, he sees a large town. That must be the city of Pavega. As he inches closer he passes through the outskirts, it is farm fields, crops and animals. The peasants slowly heading to a days work, they pay Isaac little to no attention, to engrossed in their conversations. He soon crossed a stone bridge built over a large river and once on the other side, there is a large enough building, an inn on his left, up on a small rise in the terrain. But for now, he passes by, heading towards the main city, perched on and around a hill, on which at the top is a castle, a fort maybe. However, it didn't take long for people to take note of his presence, both of his horse and him and soon, women and children screamed. He hated that sound, it was so damn annoying and soon enough, he found himself surrounded by soldiers. He expected a commander of sorts to step forward, but no, it was a priest of some sorts.

Priest: State your business here demon?

Isaac jumps down from his horse, making everyone twitch, all looking around nervously, unknown what his plans are.

Isaac: I ain't here for no business old man. You can simply call me, a traveler.

Priest: Silence, a demon such as yourself only brings about death. I can feel the darkness and filth pouring out of you even from across the city.

Isaac: Well, ain't that a little rude, I do keep my hygiene up to a high standard. Like I said old senile man, I am simply a traveler, I ain't looking for no trouble.

Priest: You may fool the dumbest of bandits, but you ain't fooling me. Your kind is not welcome and I will be glad to kill you. Your kind only bring doom, nothing else, lies and deception.

Isaac sighs, looking down at the ground. He would gladly kill everyone here.

Isaac: You sure are annoying, a parasite of society. Look, is there anyone smart I can talk to? Anyone?

Priest: You insolent creature, how dare you look down on me.

He casts a powerful dispel spell that would have surely killed or at least wounded a normal demon. But Isaac still stands there, unbothered. People gasp and the Priest looks in shock.

Priest: H-How?

Isaac grabs one of his revolvers and shoot the priest in the foot, a plume of smoke escaping the revolver followed by a scream. The priest grans onto his foot and Isaac walks closer, kneeling down in front of him.

Isaac: Like I said, I ain't looking for no trouble you fat bastard. And look at what happened, you got yourself hurt. What an idiot. I could easily kill you right here and now, but I won't.

Isaac stands up walking back to his horse.

Priest: How are you not dead demon? What are you?

Isaac: I ain't got no clue, hahaha.

From the crowd that had gathered I hear a loud voice and see people moving out of their way. Out steps a old bearded man, dressed in wizard clothes, carrying around with him a staff made of wood and a grey ball at the very top. He takes notice of the priest on the ground and the bizarre duo. The horse that looks as sick as a corpse and a undead dressed in strange yet expensive looking clothes.

Priest: G-Grand wizard Ureldor? W-What bring you here?

Ureldor: What is going on here?

Priest: T-This abomination came into town and attacked me. He wounded me with some strange magic.

Isaac: You forgot to mention who attacked first.

Ureldor: State your business demon!

Isaac: Like I said many times, I am just passing through, I ain't looking for no trouble.

Ureldor: Is that the real reason because I don't trust you.

Isaac: I got one... two things that might prove my intentions.

Isaac pulls out the token from his pocket and throws it at the wizard who does manage to catch it and starts to inspect it.

Ureldor: Where did you get this?

Isaac: It was given to me personally.

Ureldor: Are you lying demon because I can prove if you are?

Isaac: I ain't got no reason to lie.

Ureldor looks at Isaac, searching in those dead eyes for any signs of deception but what he found was not only honesty but a unnatural fear, an unease. As if you are looking right into the eyes of death itself. He steps forward and extends out the token back to Isaac.

Ureldor: I see.

Isaac takes the token back and puts it back into the pocket. It had proven itself more valuable that he originally thought.

Uredlor: Where do you hail from?

Isaac: Somewhere over yonder. Far away.

He points behind himself.

Isaac: From some wasteland, I got no idea what yall call it.

Ureldor: You promise not to cause any trouble?

Isaac: I promise on my life.

Ureldor: Very well, you are free to go.

Priest: W-What? Sir, that is a demon, creation the purest darkness, I can feel it.

Ureldor: Silence! Don't question my decision. If I conclude that he is safe, he is safe. Out of all people you should know that I don't make my decisions lightly.

Isaac walks past, giving the priest a final smug, triumph over him. The crowd moves away, fear spread across their faces. He walks deeper into the town, taking a look around, the people quickly run away from him. It does hurt slightly, treated like a monster but at the same time, empowering to know that just your presence is enough to scare people away. He stops in front of a large building, the front sign reads, Guild. He ties his horse to the nearby post, the other horses seem to stay as far as they can from Palegrim. Isaac heads inside to see what is what. And upon stepping inside the sound of chatter and arguing fills the air, a large crowd had gathered around something. He can hear obscenities being yelled out and a woman's scream and the distinct sound of punching and kicking. Curiosity calls and he squeezes between the crowd to see what is going on. Finally reaching the front he is able to see what is exactly going on. A large muscular man is kicking a poor soul, a young man, he wears little armor and is much smaller. Clinging onto his head, to protect himself. He can see the receptionist lady trying to calm the large man but gets pushed onto the floor. Not wanting to see or listen to this he points up at the ceiling with his gun and fires. Immediately the room goes silent, people ducking down. The attention completely focused on Isaac and everyone quickly backs away, reaching for their weapons. The large man freezes in his place as Isaac lowers his gun to aim at the man and stares right into him.

Isaac: What the hell is going on here?

Man: W-What, w-who are you?

Isaac: Answer me or you will be laying on the floor in a puddle of your own blood.

Man: F-Fuck you demon.

He charges forward, quite foolish and in return gets shot in the abdomen, collapsing on the floor quickly, clutching onto the wound to stop the bleeding.

Nyx: Isaac, don't. Walk closer to the young man laying on the ground.

Isaac: Why?

Nyx: Just do it.

Isaac listen, stepping closer, helping the young man off of the ground and onto his feet.

Nyx: Kill him.

Isaac: W-What? Why?

Nyx: He killed my kin, he is an evil man. A slaver of my children.

Isaac: Hey kid, you deal with slaves?

Smaller man: Y-Yes? You want some?

Isaac: Do you have fairies?

Smaller man: I do. How did you know?

Isaac: Just checking.

Isaac bring the revolver up to the young mans head and smiles before firing and killing the man. His lifeless corpse falls on the ground.

Nyx: Thank you.

Isaac: Anytime lovely.

Receptionist: Why did you do that you demon?

Isaac: Cause he was a criminal.

From the crowd a voice yells out: Having slaves ain't illegal.

Isaac: But my dear gave me an order and I simply can't just disobey it. He is a sinner, he ain't no saint. He knew what he was doing was bad, yet he did it, be it legal or not. Now, if any of yall have some complaints please, search for me, I will be walking around the town. Goodbye.

Isaac walks out of the guild and decides to explore the city before him. He will probably get in trouble with the law, but he simply can't disobey an order from Nyx, especially an order that he himself has a hatred for.
