|Nandini's POV|

My whole body was in pain. I couldn't understand where I had got the pain from. Maybe they had beaten me. I couldn't remember anything. I couldn't stress my head to remember anything because my head was throbbing. I saw someone emerge from the illuminated area across the room. A tall figure was walking towards me. I couldn't make out the person's face but as he came closer, his face started being visible. The moonlight from the window behind me fell in his face.

No! Shit! Fuck!

He was none other than Gaurav. I started trembling as he bent down and smirked. My body felt cold suddenly. He moved down his fingers on my face. I felt his warm fingers on my cold skin.

I recalled the college days when Gaurav always followed me. It was creepy. He had threatened me a lot of times and I had always been afraid of him. And now, after all these years, he was back and it felt like a nightmare come true.

'Nice to see you after a long time, Miss Murthy.' he said in a low voice. I looked at him shivering from cold and fear.

'We will be in touch.' He said and went back to that illuminated area across the room. I noticed two other guys there.

I knew I had been held captive in this place for a very long time but I didn't know how long it had been. There was a bathroom near to where I sat and the chain that held my legs was long enough to let me enter the bathroom and use it. I was served food regularly but I would only drink water. The pain throughout my body never subsided. It only intensified.

After a few days…

I was sitting in the same position. It was dark which meant that it was night. I sat, praying to God to let me out of here. Just as I was praying, I saw the door of the room open. A tall man entered but I could tell clearly that it wasn't Gaurav because this man was wearing a suit. As I lifted my eyes to meet his face, I was shocked. I wasn't sure, but he looked like Manik. I saw him looking at me and I became sure that it was none other than Manik himself. I felt relief washing over me. I felt a glint of hope after so many days. I wanted to scream out his name to him but my voice refused to come out. I realised that I hadn't made a noise throughout these past days that I had been in this horrible place.

I saw Gaurav walk towards him and keep his hand on his shoulder. I felt scared. They had been rebellious rivals in the past and now they were face to face with each other. Gaurav clearly had some unfinished business with Manik and that justified my kidnapping.

|Manik's POV|

'What do you want?' I asked Gaurav, clenching my teeth in anger.

'I want to settle some unfinished business.' he said, twisting his neck.

'Then leave Nandini out of it.'

'Oh, babes. She's lucky, you know. She's the reason you're here now.'

'Why did you call me one month after kidnapping her?'

'I had some other unfinished business.' He said and laughed.

'What do you want now?'

'Revenge.' He said. I looked at him, perplexed.

'Your father screwed up my father's life. My father had a lot of debts to be paid and your father threw out Dad from his own company. Dad became depressed and that cost him his death. Now, I'm here to screw your life, Mr.Manik Malhotra.' He said.

'It wasn't my fault, you fucking piece of shit.' I growled.

'I know that and that's why I'm gonna give you a fair chance.'

'What?'

'You want Nandini, you can take her but only after going through me and my men.' He said, smirking.

I wanted to wipe out that smirk right from his face.

Gaurav switched on the lights of the room and my eyes automatically moved towards Nandini. She looked pale, tired and dirty. She didn't seem to be in a good state. I looked at the opposite side of the room and saw at least ten men standing with hockey sticks.

Shit!

This was going to be one hell of a fight and I had no hopes of winning it. But I had to do it...for Nandini. She was mine and I wasn't letting her rot in this place forever. I could give my life for her and I was ready for that.

'If I don't make it, promise me that you'll free Nandini.' I said to Gaurav.

'As you say, Mr.Manik Malhotra.' Gaurav smirked.

I hated that I was being weak. I hated that I was weak in front of them. All my ego and rudeness went up in smoke, all for the girl I loved. Even after so many years.

I braced myself for the upcoming. I saw one of the men moving towards me. My heart was thumping louder than ever.
