LXIII. SIXTY-THREE

Because you believed in me,
another path opened up

"Kyaaah!" Tsumugi stumbled into Kirumis arms, who also happened to be holding onto Angie. The floor shook harder. Gonta grunted and kokichi grabbed onto my leg. A few parts of the building in front of us fell.

"W-What is this?!" Shuichi cried as he covered his head.

"There are explosions in the school! W-What happened?!"

Tenko answered Himiko. "I dont think I'm able to fight explosions..."

"Hey, over there...!" Rantaro pointed upwards. We trailed our eyes up in the sky and up we saw Kiibo with a jetpack. He started shooting at the buildings below us, barely missing where we were. If he wasn't careful he could easily crush one of us.

'Not fair... i want a jetpack.'

      "K-Kiibo?!" Gonta cried.

"Kiibo! What are you doing?!" Tenko cried.

      "He's flying! Is this magic?!"

"I don't know what he's planning, he's just destroying whatever he can see." Maki put a hand on her head. She shook her head before continuing, "We need to stop him... otherwise, we'll be dragged into it as well."

Rantaro asked, "But how are we going to stop him?"

"We need to try talking to him... Let's all call him, and make him calm down!" Angie grinned, oddly amused by the entire situation unfolding.

"That might be a bit dangerous... let's talk to him from somewhere he can see us." Ryoma looked so done.

"Y-Yeah! You're right!" Tsumugi gathered herself as everyone panicked and rushed ahead to the courtyard. Gonta being the fastest in the group, even with me on his back, was able to get to the center fairly quickly.

       "Kiibo!" I shouted at him.

"Eeeeee! It, it's almost like a battlefield!" Himiko painted.

"F-For now... let's try calling him. Let's see if we can get him to calm down!" Shuichi grasped onto the edge of his shirt, trying his best to manage his loose shirt.

"Kiibo! Come down here!" Tenko ordered. She pulled on himiko's arm, pulling her away from a falling rock. "Are you trying to kill us?!"

"Please, Kiibo-kun! Come down and talk to us!"

"I-I promise not to make any more robot jokes about you!"

Our voices trembled over one another trying to get the Ultimate Robots attention. He finally spotted us and slowly descended down to the ground, the floor shook under his jetpack. 'Damn Miu...'

"You've called me, everyone?" His jetpack went back to its original place. "Please keep this short. There is something I must do."

"Good, your ears are finally working--Wait, where is your ahoge?" I asked. 'There wasn't any reason for it to come off...'

"Right after we got off the elevator, he broke it off by mistake when he fell straight onto the floor!" Kokichi giggled, placing his hands behind his head. '...I give up.'

"We tried to reattach it but he refused." Maki explained, "You were knocked out when it happened."

"That's not important right now, Y/N.." Shuichi scolded me, he turned hesitantly to Kiibo and asked. "What do you mean, there's something you must do?"

"I'm going to end this killing game..."

"You're going to... end it?" Gonta asked.

"That's why, in order to do that, I'm going to destroy this Gifted Inmates Academy."

       "D-Destroy?!"

"If I destroy the school itself, then there would be no way to have a killing game."

"Monokuma is punching the air right now..." I mumbled, "Anyways, when did you have rockets and a fucking jetpack?!"

"There are things inside of my research room. Miu happily made some minor updates when she came back!" He happily explained.

"You call that minor.." Angie turned to me.

"T-That's why... you have those weapons...?"

"Research room... there are those kinds of things?" Maki asked.

"The power was quite weak, but I changed the functions and expanded them."

"For how long... have you been able to do that? That's not just at the level where you can just upgrade them." Rantaro hummed, placing his hand on his chin. " What... happened?"

"And... Kiibo, you said that you didn't want to use the power in your room?" Shuichi pressed the robot. More and more questions were being fired at him. He quickly dodged the question trying to fly off to the sky once again.

"Monokuma said... the only choice that we're given is despair." He sadly stated, his wings opening up. "...There is no hope here. I'm sorry to say, but he's right. As long as this killing game is happening, we have only despair."

"Wait... there is hope." Shuichi fought. "Everyone here... all of our friends who are alive are our hope."

"T-That's right. If we all work together, this killing game---"

"--...Won't stop. Isn't that how it's been so far?" He interrupted Tsumugi, "Even if we did stop the killing game, what would happen after that? We have no world to go home to. Everything is ruined on Earth... now that humanity has collapsed."

    "T-That might be... but..."

"...It's just as Monokuma says. Only despair remains. There is no way that we can change the outside world. Therefore, the least we can do is to not fall to despair!"

"In order to do that... you're going to kill us all inside the school? And you don't care...?" Rantaro asked.

"It's better than having things go the way Monokuma wants and having the killing game continue."

     "A-Are you... being serious?"

Rantaro raised his arms, shrugging, turning to the small redhead. "At least he's persistent..."

"Everyone risked their lives for us to be safe!" Kiibo clenched his fist. "Therefore, I have to do that! I have to risk my life and end this killing game!"

" ...Is that what the voice inside of you is telling you?" Maki asked.

"No... you are wrong. I cannot hear that voice anymore."

"...You can't hear it--?" Angie started.

        I finished, "--Anymore?"

"Because... the voice inside me has disappeared. That's why this is my will. That's why it was my own mind and body. I modified these weapons and have been determined to destroy the school. Because we are all students of Hope's Peak Academy! There's no way we can fall to despair!"

"No... you're wrong." Shuichi hesitantly spoke.

Kiibo stopped abruptly, "...Why am I wrong?"

"Because... isn't there still hope? There still might be somewhere to go home to."

"Do you have any evidence to support that there is a place to go home to?"

"There is no evidence." He pointed at Kiibo. "But... I just feel that it might be so."

They argued for a while. Kiibos mouth dropped. In the end the robot flew up into the air as explosions erupted the conversation. The ground shook and everyone prepared and protected themselves.

Maki started to grip onto her hair angrily, "We need to stop him... otherwise, we'll be dragged into it as well."

"You guys can do this... im going back to my room..." Kokichi started to walk back with his arms behind his head before Ryoma held the back of his pants causing him to stop.

"Nu-uh, kid. You've gotta help us.."

       "That robot?"

        "Exactly."

       "Aw man..."
