Chapter 19
------------------
May's P.O.V.
When we arrived at Lilycove, we never found Kira. We did, in fact, found Misty. Her information on the situation, however, was something I never expected.
She had told us that Kira advanced to her, hurting her. She had the cuts and bruises to prove it. I was shocked, and so was Brendan. I had called the other Dex holders to let them know of the situation. I also told them to meet up with us in Mossdeep city.
"Brendan, I'm scared for her." I began, holding onto Brendan as we surfed towards Mossdeep. He grunted slightly.
"Yeah, Misty sure didn't look right.."
"No! I mean for Kira!" He turned to me, an annoyed look crossed his face.
"What makes you think that?"
"I don't think Kira is capable of doing it. Besides, I don't believe anything Misty says."
"Why not?" Brendan had turned his back on me, his voice getting soft.
I hesitated to answer a bit, but the words slipped like butter.
"She stole something from me.." My voice was low, but I knew he heard me since I could feel the tension between us.
It was an awkward silence to Mossdeep, and I was glad, too. I got off and ran to the Pokémon center, wanting to get away from Brendan a bit.
However, on my way, I was bumped into something hard. I was immediately knocked down to the ground.
"Argh! Watch whe- May?" I looked at who the voice belonged to, and to my surprise, it was Kira.
I quickly got up and dusted myself off.
"Kira! What are you doing here?" I knew why, but I just wanted an exact answer from her.
"Oh, I came to get my seventh badge, silly." She giggled. She sure did change. I never heard her giggle before.
"Really? How did you do?" She pulled out the badge that shone. A prideful smile apparent now on her face.
"I got it! It was hard, but Beedo pulled it off! He evolved, too! I expected him to evolve some time after we reached Sootopolis, but now is a good time. What are you doing here?"
Yes, she sure has changed.
"Oh, um, I was going to meet up with some of the other Dex holders here..." I began to get a bit nervous.
"Really? Why are you meeting with them, and why was I not invited? I have a Pokédex, too." Kira pouted, slouching a bit. I gave a small smile.
"I'll tell you later." Was the only thing I said before she checked her Pokénav.
"Shit, I am late!" She cried out, apologizing afterwards. "Sorry, May, I have to go meet Steven at the space center. Catch you later?" I nodded, a bit shocked.
Since when did she hang out with the former champion?
General P.O.V.
The Dex holders and other important crew gathered around outside the space center, but not in the open. They began to to discuss important business.
"Does anyone know why we are here?" Gold asked, placing a hand on his hip. There was a silence, followed by a few muttered no's amongst the small crowd of friends.
"Well, that was very helpful.." He sarcastically stated. There were a few grunts of amusement, but it got quiet again. They heard footsteps and saw it was only Brendan.
"Yo, Brendan!" Gold exclaimed, waving excitedly. Brendan dismissed him, causing the raven-haired boy to feel embarrassed.
"Tell us again why the hell we are here?" Silver impatiently crossed his arms. Ash and Brock didn't say anything, a first in a while. Misty stood idly, not particularly caring.
Red and Green were missing from the group.
"We are here because of Kira, but we are not to discuss it without May." Sighs of disappointment and impatience rang through the air.
They tried to patiently wait for May, and while they did so, they heard a faint sound of slight cussing in the background.
"Shit shit shit shit shit shit! This is not good!" A voice sang out the last part. The members sneakily took a glance at who it was and their eyes widened when they saw it was Kira.
"Dang it! Why. Won't. This. Open?" Kira was trying to pull open a door. Nobody knew how long she was there before someone, whom they were glad was not them, pointed out that it was a push-open type of door.
"Oh... thank you.." She quietly stated before shamefully entering the building.
"Well, we know she is clumsy." Gold remarked, causing the others to feel annoyed.
"Shut up." Several of them barked out.
He nervously laughed and stepped back. May returned to them.
"May! Where have you been?" The over-protective Brendan asked profusely.
"None of your business, now can we just get this meeting over with?" May crossed her arms, feeling cross. Everyone else agreed.
"Now, I am going to keep this short and simple: I believe Kira is innocent." Looks of confusion spread throughout.
"Why?" Silver's voice growled out.
"Because..." She trailed off, thinking. "Because I know she is telling the truth."
"Oh, yeah? What's your proof?" Misty's voice rumbled with hatred.
"She is in the space station with Steven." Everyone's faces held surprised looks. "If you still think that she is still not to be trusted, go ahead, I'm going on her side."
May turned around and went inside the space station, leaving the group there, speechless.
Kira's P.O.V.
"Faster.. faster.. FASTER!" I yelled out, breathing heavily. Steven did as well.
Emerald used her quick attack as quickly as she could, while Steven's Skarmory raised it's speed with Agility.
As of right now, both Steven and I are taking down two members of Team Magma, Red and Maxie. It was rather strange, but I knew I had something coming.
"Earthquake." Red commanded his Crobat. I tilted my head. Was a Crobat...? Never mind.
The ground shook. The flying types were unharmed and my Sceptile wasn't affected much by it. I smirked.
"Gotta learn how to do type match-ups, boy." He just looked so disappointed in himself. I felt a bit sorry for him.
"Psychic, Skarmory!" Steven's deep voice rumbled. It glowed a blue and the Crobat was knocked all over the place, fainting it quickly.
"Bite, Mightyena!" Maxie's Pokémon advanced towards mine.
"Dodge it and use Fury Cutter!" My Emerald dodged the attack, but as it went for the strike, Red's other Pokémon, an Espeon, interfered.
"Sceptiiiiiilee!!!" Emerald cried out in pain. I gasped.
"N-no! Emerald! Return!" I shuffled around to grab my second Pokémon, Beedo.
"Beedo, come out!" I threw the Pokéball in the air and out came my Flygon.
"Alright. Start this off with Double Team and surround the Espeon!" Beedo made multiple copies of itself and and began to encirlce around the Eeveelution.
"Now all of you, use Dragonbreath!!" I screamed out the order, anger boiling. I swear I scratched my throat during that and I could feel the blood back there.
Red flames licked at the Espeon, causing it to faint as well. I grunted.
"Oughta teach you a lesson." I had my head lowered as I returned Beedo. I had not noticed that Steven and Maxie were still there.
"Ughgnfgkskwigiobohoyoyuwthhn" I made a weird noise and leaned back against the wall.
"Why does today have to exist..?" I whispered.
General P.O.V.
Steven, Maxie, and Red stared at the girl as she made the weirdest noise she ever made.
"What was that?" Maxie asked curiously. Steven shrugged.
"Probably some Pokémon call we never heard of?" Red suggested. It was a faraway idea, but not impossible.
"If so, what kind of Pokémon call?" Steven joined it, curious as well.
"Maybe it's one of the mate calls!" a sudden excitement rushed through Maxie. Steven and Red gave a disgusted look.
"What?"
"Dude, no." Red turned around and began to leave.
"You have a messed up head." Steven commented. He went over to Kira and brought her up. She blushed. She had completely forgotten that they were there, but didn't say anything.
"Alright, let's go. We have to stop Team Aqua. Our job with Team Magma is finished." Kira nodded and lead both herself and Steven out of the building.
Once out, he stopped her.
"Hey, Kira." He began. Kira looked back at him, completely disregarding the group of Dex holders hiding, spying on them.
"Yes?" She replied.
"You did really well today, and I am proud of that. I'm sorry I thought wrongly of you, and I hope you can accept my humble apologies." He gave a wavering smile.
Kira blushed.
"Of course I forgive you! I am not one to hold a grudge anyway... and you did well, too. I wouldn't have gotten this far without you and..." She trailed off, thinking of the others. Steven noticed this and began to change the subject.
"Hey, I got something for you," Kira's eyes lit up, "but you'll have to come to my place after a while, okay?" Kira pouted.
"Why so mysterious, eh? What are you hiding?" Kira playfully asked, a smirk played at her lips. Steven blushed a light pink and chuckled, walking away to his home. She watched him as he left her line of sight.
The small group mumbled to themselves.
"What the hell?" "What is she doing with him?" "What's going on between the two?"
Millions of questions were being spat out at the speed of light.
After about an hour, Kira decided to finally pay Steven a visit.
It was an ordinary house in Mossdeep, in fact, it was the only ordinary house there. She knocked on the door and was met with the silver haired man.
"Come in." He said, gesturing her inside.
"I'm sorry it isn't much, but I was trying to tidy up the place since I rarely come home." He dug through his drawers and brought out a small box.
"It's fine. I really don't mind. It looks very neat in here!" She commented, glancing around the room.
"Thank you." Steven walked over to her, his heart pounding. "Kira.. I know you don't remember anything, and I understand that, but..." His breath was short now, and his cheeks a bright pink.
"Before you were used as an experiment, one which I wish I had completely prevented, you were..." He trailed off, holding bavk his own tears.
"Wait.." Kira stopped him. "An experiment?" The look of horror on her face was apparent. Steven cleared his throat and sat her down.
"It began years ago, I was taking a trip to Kanto to investigate the caves there. I arrived in Pallet town, where I met the most wonderful girl ever.. She loved Pokémon, and was beginning her adventure that year. I decided to accompany her since she had told me she convinced her mother after five years to let her go. So, I did. I didn't expect to get far, but I witnessed her defeat the Elite Four and the Champion with little to no trouble. Unfortunately, the champion was a man no younger than I am, and he got jealous of her. We didn't know he was a part of an evil organization known as Team Rocket, but he was. After she was registered as champion, without me since it was against the rules, I had not realized she was taken away. I didn't notice until hours later, when I beat the crap out of the guy after I discovered everything. He told me she had special powers, and was waitng for her to come to him, which she did... I found her weeks later, but it was too late. The only remnants of her was her I.D. card and her Pokémon." He looked away and back at her.
"You were that woman, Kira.. I was angry at first when you didn't recognize me, but I played it like I didn't know you at all, until that day... when I found out you had joined Team Aqua.." Kira sat quietly, tears flowing down her eyes. She pulled Steven into a tight embrace.
"I'm here now." Was all she said. He returned the embrace and they sat like that for a few minutes.
"Now," Kira let go and looked at him straight in the eyes, "let's kick some ass." She got up and held out her hand. He took it.
"Let's go."
---
An hour has passed and both Kira and Steven found the passageway to Kyogre. Throughout the trip inside, Kira had to stop him from wandering off several times.
Eventually, they found the final room, water falling everywhere. They glanced at each other and cautiously made their way to see Kyogre. They both gasped in aw.
"The legendary Kyogre..." Steven monotoned.
"It's so huge..." Kira commented subconsciously.
"You got that right." They both turned around and Green and Archie are there.
"Glad to see you have made it, but you are too late to stop us now." Archie laughed maniacally and lifted the Red Orb. Red lights filled the room and Kyogre shifted uncomfortably, letting out a shrill cry and leaving.
Archie watched in horror.
"No, no! This can't be! Why didn't Kyogre listen? He was supposed to! I have control of the Red Orb!!" He raged and ran out, leaving Green.
"That old fart.." He began, and he looked at Kira.
"At least you're still sane." Kira tilted her head.
"What do you mean by that?" He shook his head.
"Forget it. I'm going. I won't fight you." He walked away before she could even respond.
"Whatever, come on, let's go see what the trouble with Kyogre is causing." She grabbed Steven's hands and led him out. He was quiet the entire time.
When they got out, there was a massive rainstorm, following a really hot weather. It fluctuated every thirty minutes.
"Steven..." Steven nodded, knowing what is happening.
"Groudon and Kyogre are battling each other." Kira nodded.
"Come on, let's go!" Both trainers let out their flying types and got on.
"The weather is stronger on towards Sootopolis. Follow me, I know the way." He went ahead to fly.
"Come on, Belan. Let's go." And they went to follow Steven.

A/N: Oh, hey! This was twice as long as I normally do, mostly because I'm trying to wrap things up. :) Thank you for sticking with me this long! I appreciate it!
