Ch. 3
After a while of just looking at the ocean, Emma finally turned to Regina. A smile grew upon her face. She truly loved Regina but couldn't tell her everything.
She didn't want to break Regina's heart by saying that Emma had cancer. There was no cure. Emma looked in the mayors eyes and sighed softly.
"How about we go do something?" She asked, finally breaking the silence.
Regina nodded and got up. She held her hand out for the sheriff. The blonde instantly took the brunettes hand. She smiled. They walked around town with each others fingers intertwined with the others. Emma felt happy for once.
Regina's phone started to ring. She had answered it. It was a hospital from New York telling Regina that Robin had died. Regina started to have a break down. She dropped to the ground and cried.
Emma didn't really know what to do. She just got down and held Regina in her arms. Regina started to get worried for Roland. Her breathing got heavier. Emma rubbed the mayors back.
After a while Regina calmed down. Emma carried the brunette home where Roland was waiting.
Emma gasped slightly and Roland just ran over to Regina. He had looked like he was crying, which was understandable since his father had died. It just didn't make sense how he got there. Emma shrugged a little and bit her lip. Roland ran upstairs and Regina took a sit on the couch.
Emma got them drinks and sat beside Regina. She turned to face her and kissed the brunette softly. "It will be okay." She said softly.
Regina nodded and shrugged. "Yeah. Maybe." The mayor whispered.
Emma shrugged and made Regina's head on her shoulder. Emma placed in a movie with her movie and watched it with the mayor. Emma sighed softly. Regina had fallen asleep on the blondes shoulder.
Emma didn't really mind but she knew she had to tell Regina eventually about the cancer. But how? When? Emma started to tear up thinking about ways to tell her love of her life.
She had tears rolling down her face. One ended up on Regina's face, causing her to wake up. "What's wrong?" She asked.
Emma stayed quiet and bit her lip. She sighed softly and just stayed quiet. She really didn't want to tell her.
Only she had to. She knew it would be hard but it was something Emma had to do. She couldn't lie to Regina who had been her friend for a while.
Emma looked down and covered her eyes with her hands. She just cried.
"I..." She tried to say it but couldn't. She took a deep breath. "I... I have cancer." She finally said.
Regina gasped and held Emma close. "It will be okay..." Regina's voice traveled off as she bit her lip. "I'll be here. Don't worry." Regina whispered and let Emma cry on the mayors shoulder.
Emma knew that Regina would always be there for her but she didn't know how long that would last. She bit her lip and just wished that this cancer would go away. If only it was that simple.
