Ch. 13

Usually, when you hope too much for something, you end up being disappointed. Your expectations are up so high and then it drops so low. A roller coaster of emotions. Regina rarely hoped. Ever since what happened with Daniel, she never believed that anything good could come out of her life again, and turned "evil". She was so misunderstood and hurt by how her mother treated her and the way she saw her first love being killed right in front of her. No one could have reacted calmly to that. Inside, Regina was freaking out, thinking she was going to lose another person in her life in such a short period of time. Robin had just died and even though her and Emma were just starting something, Regina loved her. She didn't want to lose her even for Henry's sake. She wanted what was best for him. She didn't want him to lose a mother, not yet anyway.

A nurse came in with some water to give to Emma. "You are going to be staying here for a few days and we are going to do some tests and make sure that it isn't processing any further. We can also help you with the baby... I know it's a hard decision but before we go any further we would like to know your plan, if you are going to try to keep it or not."

Emma listened. She sat in silence. She didn't want to have an abortion but at this time it seemed necessary, for her health. It was her choice. She looked at Regina sadly and took a deep breath before saying, "I don't want to keep the baby... not when I'm sick and can't do anything to help them survive."

The nurse nodded. "Okay. We can have that done after all the tests.. it's understandable."

Regina rubbed Emma's back and kissed her head. She played with the blonde hair gently, slightly using her magic to bring Emma her memories back.

Emma closed her eyes slightly. "Stop... please... that's too much.."

Regina sighed. "I'm sorry I was just trying to help."

Emma opened her eyes and looked at her. She nodded. "I know but those memories aren't going to help. What's going to help is having you here... we can make new memories.."

Regina looked into the blondes green eyes and nodded. "Okay Emma... I know I've said it like a thousand times already but I just want what's best for you."

Emma nodded. "I know I can tell... you are really sweet.." she cupped Regina's cheek. She sighed happily. "No wonder I fell for you.." she slowly laid back and held onto Regina.

Regina smiled softly and rubbed the blondes back. "I fell for you too you know and I'm not going to let you go... we can... we can find better help out there. I'm sure we can find someone who can do something to help."

"Oh yeah where?" Emma asked. "We would have to fly somewhere or even drive. Even then it's a lot of money. I can't except you to buy for all of that."

Regina sighed. "Being outside of Storybrooke is a risk due to my magic and everything but I can't think of anything else right now to even try to help."

"If only your sister was here... we could go back in time and go to when I first developed this... and stop it then since when we came back we could actually have our lives ahead of us and be a happy family like you said. I want that. I want to be happy with you, Regina."

"That's not a bad idea actually... but you might bring someone back from the past."

Emma chuckled a little and shook her head. "I won't. I learned my lesson." She closed her eyes slowly, feeling awfully tired even though she had just woken up. She slowly fell back asleep on top of Regina.
