• Reality is a Lovely Place •

It was a symphony.

Fluttering wings and flowering petals,

The rarest of gems and precious metals;

Though not so precious as you.

Clad in golden attire,

Bearing an everlasting fire;

Yet not quite so warm as you.

And somehow it's next to you I walk,

Disregarding life's cruel ticking clock;

Because you're worth more than time.

A brisk blow demands that I awake,

Forced to watch the dream slip and break;

But your tenderness lives on into daydreams.

I cling all day to your lingering embrace.

They say reality is a lovely place,

But I wouldn't want to live there.
