I am related to the man

Who first made my favorite snack

His love for the stuff is how it began...

He made the snack lovelier, I must admit!

His name was Milton Hershey

And when he was just a teen;

He made chocolate to perfection.

In my opinion, at least!

He lived in Pennsylvania,

In a town now named after him

Where he set up his first shop

And poured all his soul into his work.

He was soon loved by millions

And became a successful man.

Even through the generations

His chocolate bars have many fans.

I am proud to be a descendant

Of such a wonderful man

Who invented happiness in a wrapper

And shared it with the world.

He left the world in 1945,

But his chocolate still lived on;

And lives on now;

And likely always shall.
