Gravity's pull glued us to the ground,

Screams for mercy filled the atmosphere.

There we were, waiting to be found

Every heartbeat of life ringing in our ear.

Look at the birds filling the sky:

The world fell apart from above.

Yet just like us they stand by...

Hoping to hear anew the song of love.

For it once filled the streets and valleys,

Like a timeless, melodious song;

All that remains is rubble in the alleys

And the cries of the weak and the strong.

The search goes on, on and on...

A mother's cry rises day after day,

Refusing to believe her child is gone;

Who only yesterday jumped and played.

The destruction is outward as much as inside

The heart goes on without its true beat.

It all happens when the two worlds collide,

This empty feeling of hopelessness and defeat.
