• A Night on the Shore •
How sweet, how lovable, how warming;
She enfolds me with her rippling blanket.
And though curious clams peek in and out
She provides me with a soft sandy pillow.
Though I wake with wind-blown hair
She blows her fan upon me as I sleep.
It's obvious I'm only a miniscule being,
Yet she gives me the ocean in its entirety.
She could've painted her ceiling plain white,
But she chose to paint blue, and clouds
Along with a thousand twinkling stars at night.
I think I belong here, yes, I think I'm home.
She rocks me again in her tender arms,
And sings to me the music only she can make.
She'll stay near me all night to ensure I'm at rest
And I gradually let my eyes close, feeling much at peace.
