New Beginnings, with a Past
Months have passed and the relationship between Draco and Harry has grown. Grown to the point that if you see one you would probably see the other. If not as work, then at home, sitting on the back porch.
Not only has their friendship grown, but for both men their feeling have also. Only thing being is they didn't realize the other felt the same.
As an outsider looking in, it was clear as day that they two wanted more. The "friendship" dates, where getting more romantic in nature. Pubs where the first few, then dinner at a local restaurant, next came picnics with strawberries and white wine.
Bodies in the beginning where across the table from each other. Soon chairs would be closer together, and bodies would lean towards each other.
Small touches would start on the hand, a small pat of reassurance. A light caress of the arm. Knees or feet touching under the table. Each touch longer than the last one.
Draco tired of the "what if" game he was playing with himself.
'What if he doesn't feel the same'
'What if I am reading the signals wrong'
"Hell with the 'what if'! I like the man and I want to properly take him out." Draco was talking to himself as he got dressed.
With pure determination, the tall blonde went downstairs to find Harry. He had the perfect date planned out and Harry was the only one he wanted to take.
Draco got everything ready. Food, wine, destination, and now to get Harry.
He found Harry at his cottage reading the latest Quiddittch magazine. Draco's breath hitched as he saw Harry. He knew he was falling again for the dark haired boy. He just hoped that Harry felt the same way.
Taking a deep breath Draco walked towards the man.
"Harry, I would like to take you out on a date." The voice startling Harry.
"Oh hi Draco. What did you say?" Looking up from the magazine, eyes grazing over the sharp lines that make up Draco Malfoy.
"I would like to take you out on a date." Repeated Draco.
"Oh, me? I mean ok..yes." Harry couldn't figure out what to say. A bit shocked at the statement.
"Great." Draco said smirking at the stuttering mam before him. "Can you meet me in the front of the house in about 20 minutes?"
"Wait? Date? Now?" Harry stood up quickly knocking the chair he was sitting in, on to its back.
"I will wait 20 minutes, yes a date, and are you ready now?" Trying to answer the three rapid questions.
"No! I mean yes. Ok, Harry stop." Words stumbled out of Harry's mouth. "I mean, ok, I will be ready in 20 minutes, and I will meet you out front."
Smiling Draco turned to leave, seeing Harry enter his cottage to get ready.
Walking out of the front door, Harry saw a black open carriage being pulled by two hauntingly beautiful thresals. Draco standing at the door with black slacks, and a deep purple shirt, and black leather boots. This time Harry wore, dark blue slacks with a black silk shirt, and he replaced the tennis shoes with a pair of his own black wing tipped shoes.
"Are you ready Harry?" Draco asked taking Harry's hand to pull him towards him. "I hope you enjoy this."
Harry shudders at Draco's voice and breath as it caressed his ear. His feelings have doubled and he is hoping this date means that Draco feels the same.
Once Harry was in and seated Draco climbed up the two steps and seated himself next to Harry. Grabbing the blanket on the bench seat across the way, he layed it over their laps.
With a slight jerk they were off. They sat in comfortable silence both looking at the scenery around them and not so sly glances at each other.
They finally arrived at the destination. They were on top of a hill, that over looked the expansive city of Johannesburg. The sun was just going down and it had a bright red halo around it. As you looked up from the sun, the skys turned into orange, followed by yellows and faded in to darker blues. Bright bursts of gold reflected off the clouds in the sky. It was breath taking.
Draco grabbed Harry's hand pulling him from the picture that was painted by nature before him. There was a green and silver blanket laying on the ground, on it was a huge spread of food just waiting to be tasted.
"This is beautiful Draco. The Slytherin blanket is a nice touch." Harry laughed.
Draco laughed as they both sat down to indulge in the feast before them. The meal consisted of foods they would have had at Hogwarts.
The meal started with French Onion soup. The main dish was made up of glazed carrots, roast potatoes with garlic and rosemary, and braised lamb chops. Then for dessert they had Harry's favorite Treacle Tart.
"Such a trip down memory lane. Draco this is absolutely amazing."
"I am glad you liked it Harry." Draco started to stand up. Once standing he reached down to help Harry up. Once off the blanket, a flick of Draco's wand had everything cleaned up and was nicely packed away.
Harry could hear music. A soft, slow sound coming from all around them.
"Can I have this dance?" Draco reached out for Harry.
Harry smiled and put his hand in his.
Pulling Harry to him, Draco wrapped his arms around Harry's waist. He could feel the muscles ripple under Harry's shirt. Both men were in heaven.
Harry slowly worked his hands up to Draco's neck. Starting at Draco's wrists, fingers lightly touching his arms. His cool fingers tracing the tattoo on Draco's left arm. His fingers finally found their place around Draco's neck.
They danced until the music faded away into the night. Holding Harry's hand Draco had him follow him to a fairly large telescope pointed at the night sky.
Harry marvled at how much Draco knew about the stars above them. He showed him the different constellations, and how they would shift through the year. Harry's favorite part was seeing how excited Draco got the more he talked about it.
The moon was at the top of the sky and both men were laying in the grass watching it slowly move.
"Can I kiss you Harry?" Draco whispered still looking at the moon.
Harry sat up and pulled Draco to him. Their lips meeting, hungry and needy for the other.
They gripped one another tightly not wanting the kiss to end. Scared if they let go the feeling would disappear.
"Need more." Harry mumbled into Draco's soft lips.
With a solid crack, Draco apperated them back to his Manor. They stumbled up the stairs to Draco's master bedroom.
Draco pulled them into his room they removed their shoes, and walked further in, lips once again connected. Draco pulled Harry's shirt from his slacks and massage his waist. Causing Harry to moan into his mouth. Their lips parted to slip the shirt over Harry's head.
Breathing heavily Draco raked his fingers over the beautiful chest in front of him. Harry shivering at the touch, loving the things the other man was doing to him.
Harry reached for Draco's top button and slowly started to release the blonde from his shirt. His lips and hands fluttering over the newly exposed skin.
Harry's fingers felt a ridge across Draco's chest, pulling back he looked at what it was. There was a white scar that started at his collarbone and stretched to his navel. Other smaller scars were littered around it.
"I did that." Harry gasped. Remembering clearly when and where it happened.
"I am so sorry Draco." Tears steaming down his cheeks.
"Harry it is in the past. This is now. I am ok. You didn't know what it would do to me." Draco was holding on to Harry's face gently.
"I could have killed you." Pain and sorrow refecting in his eyes.
"But you didn't. I am right here, with you. The one place I want to be." Laying his forehead on Harry's. "Let me show you how much I want to be here with you and only you."
"Okay." Harry leaned in and just let go, letting Draco take the lead.
