Lachlan's P.O.V
Jerome, Rob, and I watch as Seto disappears and reappears behind the beast. Us three are hiding, he's fighting. The monster is like a giant size of a hog. But it looks peeved. Seto's hands and eyes glow purple.

"We need to learn how to fight. Seto's a badass." Rob said.

"That's because he is using magic, that's cheating." Jerome said.

"You're just jealous." I said. Jerome rolls his eyes as the ground shakes violently and Seto comes up a few seconds afterward. His scythe disappears from his hand and he doesn't seem the least bit exhausted like I expect him to be.

"So what happened to Mitch?" Jerome asks. Seto looks at us.

"If your are here to rescue Mitch...I wouldn't get your hopes up too high." He said. We stand up.

"Why not?" I asks.

"He isn't...He isn't the person you remember." Seto said. I look closer at Seto noticing almost a health bar and his name. But also his level making my eyes widen at it.

"Holy sh*t Seto! How did you get that high of a level?!" I yelled. Seto looks at me.

"I've been here way way longer then anyone has. The game may have been shut down in the real world, but I was still able to play it. Being trapped in a video game with nothing to do, leveling up seems like the only thing that was appealing to me." He said. I look at the others seeing the same thing but level 1.

"What level is he?" Rob asks.

"He's freaking level 153!" I said.

"What the heck Seto?!" Jerome asks.

"Don't act surprised guys. He's been here for like forever." Rob said.

"That reminds me, in order to get to Mitch and Preston you guys need to level up." Seto said.

"We don't have time for that." I said. Seto crosses his arms.

"We don't have a respawn." Seto said

"How do you know that?" Rob asks.

"I rather not find out if we do or not Rob." He said. Good point. I don't either. "Look I can give you just some old weapons and gear I use to use back then. But just because you have the armor and defenses doesn't mean you have the right amount of HP."

"HP?" I asks.

"Lachlan when you saw my level you saw my HP bar. That's your health. You guys are gamers just like me, I shouldn't have to explain what HP and XP are to you." Seto said. HP and XP. XP meaning experience? I bet it is. "The higher the level you have, the more HP you have. I have 14000 HP because I'm level 153. You all have 150 HP because you are level 1. This game is dangerous guys and Mitch is located where not having high amounts of HP is just suicide."

"How much of your HP dropped when you were hit by that giant? I mean you don't look like you are wearing any armor and armor usually helps defensive wise." Jerome said.

"That's because I'm not wearing any armor Jerome. Armor is just useless and pointless to me at my level. My HP dropped 150 points. But my maxed regeneration skill brought it back up within thirty seconds." Seto said.

"What?! Seto that's..that's cheating!" Jerome said.

"No it's not, its how the game was designed. Games with leveling like that are unfair that way. Once you reach level 70 with the right skills maxed out you can be invincible." Seto said. He seems to know a lot, he has been here for over two years. "If you want to save Mitch and Preston you got to get to level 30 at the very least. I know a feel places where you can get ten levels within a game day in a snap."

"You know all the best spots for experience don't you?" Rob asks. Seto nods. The ground shakes away and a giant scythe appears in Seto's right hand. My eyes widen looking at it.

"Right now you three could take about two directs hits from the monsters here, depending on their levels, and be left with 5 HP. So be careful around here till we hit the lower level areas." Seto said.

"No way are we cowering behind you." Jerome said.

"Fine then Jerome. I guess you don't want to save Mitch and Preston as much as I thought you did." Seto said.

"We can get there without you." He said. Ummm...NO WE CAN'T!

"I would love to see that. Jerome those monsters are so strong that they might let you go back home of pure sympathy for such a weakling." Seto said.

"Weakling?!" Jerome shouted taking a few steps towards him. I grab Jerome's arm. Seto does have a point, I mean we are only at level one and he is level 153. "You think you are all tough because of your level don't you?"

"No I don't really. It's because of the fact that if I leave you three, you'll die before nightfall hits." Seto said. I let go of Jerome's arm. "You three don't know this world like I do. This world isn't gonna baby you, it'll beat you up till your HP hits zero then your avatar is deleted from the game and you die IRL. This world is much like Sword Art Online, but this world isn't as kind as SAO because there are no safe zones."

"What?! No safe zones? What game doesn't have those?" Rob asks.

"One Life. This game is meant to be like SAO and the hunger games, so safe zones are pointless because players are meant to kill each other." Seto said. Hunger games. No way. But..I see three glowing red eyes peek out from behind the tree.

"Umm...Seto." I said pointing at it. Seto turns halfway. He lifts his hand towards it and it glows purple. The creature comes out and jumps at Seto. But it suddenly turns into ashes at our feet. Seto sighs and lowers his hand.

"Nightfall is coming we have to get to higher ground." He said.

"What was that?" Rob asks.

"A klicker. They aren't so forgiving on letting you keep your items. They steal your stuff and then let the higher level monsters squash you." Seto said walking pass us. We look at each other before we all run after Seto.
