chapter 14~

"I told you, I'm here by chance." I said looking timidly at the fierce looking blue haired guy besides me. His look was intimidating in a peculiar way.

"Nothing happens by chance." He replied taken aback as though I might have accused him of some sort of thing. I would be lying to myself if I wasn't a least bit shuddered by Lorenzo's appearance. Let alone his acting.

"Okay. Cut!" Neil called out, "Good job you guys. Although I think you could show a little more of..."

"Spark." Felix added from behind the camera.

"Yeah, kind of." Neil agreed.

And on it went.

It was actually really interesting and exciting to play an altogether different personality. But having to do the same scene over and over, did not help.

After getting Felix's camera on the way, we had directly come over to the pub we usually hung out at, the 'Rotes Getränk'. Neil and Felix  joined Lorenzo in his Thar, while I rode my Harley.

When we arrived the manager was already ready for us. I got to know Lorenzo had already called him up and asked for the favor, he was happy to oblige. This guy really had his way with people.

So, finally after over ten or so takes we were officially done with our first scene.

The manager offered us drinks after our shoot was packed up. While Neil and Felix each grabbed a beer, Lorenzo and I stuck to soft drinks.

"Come on, loosen up! Grab a beer, we have to celebrate. We are done with the first shoot...the first shoot! What's with the soft drinks?" Felix said pushing a beer towards me.

I almost politely declined,"We need to drive your drunken asses back home."

Neil was simply sipping his beer while Felix looked a little more than tipsy.

"So, when do we plan our next schedule?" I asked Neil who was still busy sipping his drink, I had to admit his tolerance for alcohol, I could never.

"Tomorrow same time is good."

The others just nodded. And the half closed eyelids of Lorenzo were back. For once I assumed he would stay conscious like the vibrant hair colour he was wearing. Surprisingly, he pulled it off well and his dreamy eyes if that was the correct term went in hand with it as well.

"You are no fun."Felix muttered childishly.

I laughed at that. "Come on let's get you out of here."

To my surprise Lorenzo was the one who supported Felix who was clearly wobbling on his feet. While me and Neil followed, he didn't look like he needed support but I held him by his arm anyway.

After getting the both of them in their respective seats, I turned to Lorenzo, "Good work today, can't say I expected that, but I am glad that you are cooperating."

"Cooperating? More like cause effect of your ultimatum." He scoffed but I saw a slight hint of his face muscles loosen up. Was he smiling?

"You still could have been a little tad~"

"And how would that be of any help? Perhaps, this temporary make over is helping. Might keep it after winding up shooting." He shrugged, acknowledging his looks for the first time if I remember. If I were to look like that for once I would go on boasting till I was worn out. Maybe a lot too much that one, but at the least gone out with more people probably.

"I still prefer Jack Frost on you." I mumbled almost inaudible, but I assumed he caught my words.

"Jack Frost? Did I hear that right?" He eyed questioning me as though I might have asked him if he preferred drag over ramp. Which was low key funny to me from his amused look.

"I meant your platinum gray hair." I laughed a little or more like let out a small chuckle.

"Aahh. Jack Frost."

He walked over to the driver's side of his jeep and holding the door's latch,
"Edwards, don't ever call me that."
And he started the ignition and pulled the gear.

"Have some more of it." Mrs. Reyes shoved the platter of pancakes in front us. We were at Felix's, the task was just to drop him off with his DSLR but his dad insisted on joining the Reyes family for a while. Lorenzo had some errands or more like he invented to escape so he took off after dropping Neil and Felix.

"It won't go in, we were en route from Rotes Getränk. But thank you anyway." I said putting a morsel of the cake just for the formality. Felix's bungalow was decent size, and so were the interiors. But even then you might feel to visit his place with a coat and tie. Me being aloof most times didn't exactly know how to switch to the air tight formal environment.

"So, how many schedules are y'all left with?" His dad asked from the dining, I had seen him earlier when he had come to fetch Felix but didn't get a close look. I was always confident about my assumptions about people's age, but his looked like I had mistaken. Definitely mistaken. He looked more in his early thirties rather than in forties. Even his mum would be around the same age. Perhaps 'cause he was the first child, but so was I. His parents were terribly young for an eighteen-nineteen years old.

"Well, we decide accordingly. Depending on college and clubs schedules of everyone. But there's one tomorrow, an over-" Neil began and Felix's head snapped up, "Ehh, tomorrow's schedule is near Clarice's place, so we'll probably stay over the night, it's a night sequence."

All Neil and I could do was give a confused look to the vague excuse he made up. But in his house all we could do was just to go with the flow and occasionally answer what had been asked.

"A night sequence?" Mr. Reyes kept his platter on the dining, now closely scanning any hints of lies from Felix, or at least that was what I assumed.

"Yeah, there is one, and it's an important plot so it is better to have it in one go rather than staying up late twice?" I said, which looked like I was encouraging a reasonable question which they should agree anyway.

"Hmm, makes sense." His dad nodded in a slight curt way which might make you rethink. "I heard you've done the scripting Neil."

"Oh yes, well it's basically sort of an adaptation but I feel there are certain plot holes here and there."

"Do you have any previous writing experience?" Mr. Reyes asked Neil, whom I had never thought would be in literature or any of that sort. But now looking at him take interest made me realise he might know a thing or two. "Let me help you with the editing, if you'd like."

Neil looked taken aback, which was nothing unexpected, since he must have never thought Mr. Reyes would offer helping him, 'cause we all had tried and it was difficult to link up the plot lines from different sequences.

"Mr. Reyes that would be really good. E-hh but have you-" Neil was anxious from the obvious tight demeanour of Felix's home.

"Have I? I was a Film major. That qualification should be enough I suppose." Mr. Reyes said, his face bland but he had had eased since we came here. At least I hoped.

Neil without thinking further swallowed the last piece of his cake and went over the dining where Mr. Reyes was sitting. They immediately went on discussing about the work. I glanced towards Felix sitting besides, he had barely spoken anything since we came here. I wondered if this was what he meant by his parents being overly protective. Weird kind of protective if this might be it.

"I'm guessing you haven't mentioned anything about Hawaii to them?"

He looked at me shooting daggers, our roles were switched in this case since I was the one who usually did that to him. He was scary when annoyed.

"Okay, I'll shut up, won't say anything to them."

"Yeah, I would prefer that." He mumbled.

"Aren't you and Lorenzo hanging out way too much since a week." Clarice held back her chuckle and attempted to sound suspicious. Which she failed at of course.

"And Felix and Neil. Oh god why do you even think I will hang out with him of all people?!"

"So, when are we getting to watch this short film of yours?" Cherry asked while busy typing her reviews for the clothing line.

"I believe the premier invites should be out shortly. However, let me tell you they're strictly solemn." I cleared my throat, mocking her, sounding like some high quality CEO.

"Oh shut up. Don't use big words on a Business student."

"Remember what I asked you to say Clarice. Please don't fuck up when my parents call you up in case." Felix returned carrying two platters of hamburgers and drinks.

"Yeah, have a night you guys, I'll tell them y'all are staying over at my place. Also, I really wanted to join anyway." Clarice said taking one platter from his hands and sliding the drink over towards Cherry.

"You both could still join you know." I said looking at the both of them. They got so excited when we told them about our unplanned night shoot, and who wouldn't like to camp at the time when it was almost Spring.

"You know that I won't be able to. There's no one at home, also I thought you know-" She dragged the last word so much which made her look bashful than she already sounded. There was Clarice and there was this Clarice.

"Okay right there- Kai's coming over, say it." Cherry jerked her playfully from her shoulder and the best we could do at the moment was laugh at her nervous behaviour.

"I can't believe you guys are together for almost two years." I started laughing, well it was hard not to considering two years is a quite long time to get comfortable with someone.

"And I know when that hotline bling~
That can only mean one thing~ uh-ohh" Felix started thumping on the café like it was a bass drum or something.

I knew what he was intending there. We all did. Cherry and I lost it at his weird vocal, it earned him a nice smack from Clarice, which was not so much fun than the way he was singing. And I thought why not,
"You used to call me on my cell phone~ Late night when you need my love~"

"From Bowie to Drake? Quite a taste you got there." His voice was mocking, if I had to choose on assurance on a scale of one to ten, I would probably give it a twelve. I knew he must be mocking me on my singing and the song but that didn't help in anyway. You won that one Bazin.

"Thank you very much Frost." I gave the best doe eyes of mine I could summon. Not a smart comeback but alright.

"Shut up. I do not look like him, at least not now." Lorenzo rolled his eyes trying to avoid the stares the both of us were getting from our friends. Not to mention, it was in no one's notice we were now on talking terms, or I assumed we were.

"But Enzo pulled this off excellent. You look wow~" Clarice gaped at him since the time he came over our table with Kai.

"I know! Exactly!  At first I thought I saw some Pop star or someone. But even they have malfunctions sometimes. This look you own it man."
Cherry went on adding further on how amazing he was looking. Which he was, but still my hands were on his Jack Frost look.

"For once he looks decent. Keep this hair Enzo." Kai said attempting to ruffle through his hair but failed as Lorenzo quickly ducked.

"Someone told me my platinum gray looks better on me. And funny thing is I might actually agree with that person."
