Rewritten Time

MyExcellentStories made this most excellent picture based on my fic and I wanted to cry for 2 reasons. 1) THE FEEEEEEEEELS THIS IS LITERALLY REALLY UPSETTING LOOK AT POOR BILL
2) No one had ever made a fan art of a thing I did and omg.
(Hope you don't mind me sharing!!!)

"Well, William... I'm thinking someone wants to erase you from time,"

Bill looked at Ted with fear in his eyes.

"How do we stop it?" Bill asked, his voice cracking.

Ted was torn between sobbing, punching something, and shouting "I TOLD YOU SO!" at Bill.

He grabbed his friend's shoulder instead, suddenly finding it utterly impossible to stand.

Rufus buried his face in his sleeves.

"There usually is no way to stop it happening, not if the timeline has already been altered. Don't worry, William, I'm putting my best men on the job. We're going to sort this out."

"But wait, dude," Ted said in shock, "Bill has to exist. Wyld Stallyns was his idea. If he didn't exist, neither would the band, or the song that saves the world, or the future.... he can't leave, dude..."

"Time can be rewritten," Rufus stated, "It will happen slowly. The memory loss kicks in. First, Bill will forget, and then, so will we."

Ted instantly faced Bill.

"How is your memory holding up?"

"Is it bad I can't remember before third grade?" Bill sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck. Ted grabbed him in a hug.

"You need to remember, Bill. You gotta. I can't do this alone, dude. Rufus! How long does he have!?"

Rufus took Ted by the shoulders and steadied him.

"Theodore, you need to calm down. You're hyperventilating. I'm going to try everything to fix this,"

Ted couldn't calm down. Surprisingly, he was more freaked out than Bill.

He grabbed Bill by his shirt again and tugged on it a few times, like he didn't know what to do with it now that he had it in his hand. He let it go, only to catch it back in his fingers again.

Everyone in the room was watching him, knowing he grabbed that shirt thinking about the time when he wouldn't be able to.

"I'm thinking he has about a month," Rufus said finally after scanning him with a small device.

Ted fell to the ground suddenly, having run out of breath from his hyperventilation.

Ted woke up in his bed with his best friend standing over him. He shot up as though on fire and grabbed Bill, dragging him down again.

"Dude, dude, duuuude, I just had the worst nightmare!"

Bill's head was on Ted's chest, and Ted was hanging on for dear life, like Bill would disappear if he budged an inch.

"I had a dream... you were being erased from time... you only had a month to live...," Ted was basically panting, holding on to his best friend.

Bill pushed himself off of Ted's chest, having been smushed down against the solid heat.

"Ted, dude... that wasn't a dream," Bill answered dejectedly. "You passed out after Rufus told you the news."

Ted sat up again and rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, "I actually passed out? Woah... that's embarrassing. And also most heinous news."

"I know, dude. What are we going to do?" Bill stared down at their feet, noticing just how close their legs were. He shifted his feet uncomfortably but did not move away from Ted. They were close now, arms bumping. Ted laid his head on Bill's arm, and his shoulders drooped.

"I can't do Wyld Stallyns alone, dude. That's the point of Wyld Stallyns. It's not a single Stallyn, it's about the two of us. Nothing, not even the princesses, not even the princesses leaving could've gotten in the way of us. Now it's a dickweed who wanted to erase you from time...,"

"Bogus. Heinous," Bill murmered. Then he picked up his head, simultaneously making Ted remove the weight from his arm. "But we've still got a month, dude. We've got a month to figure this out, and we can still stick together. I mean, I just dont know, but I'm not giving up."

"Can you tell me anything you know for certain...?"

Bill thought for a minute, focusing on the spot on the floor in Ted's room.

"I care about you a lot, I know that for certain. And I'm not gonna forget you. As long as I can, I'm gonna remember you, and I'm gonna leave you a good legacy when I'm gone. Ted 'Theodore' Logan, the Lone Stallyn."

Ted felt his heart break, and he held on tight to his friend.

"You're not going anywhere, dude. Not as long as I'm around."
