CRUSHTIME
Lila quickly shuts her laptop and turns to me with a smile. "Hey." She says nervously.
"Hey. What were you doing?"
"Nothing. It doesnt matter."
"Okay. I will just ignore the fact that you're acting weird right now." I say as I cautiously walk in expecting someone to jump out and pour some nasty shit all over me.
"You're the one acting weird by asking all these questions and besides what are you doing here?" Lila questions me. She is changing the subject.
"I wanted us to start practicing for our gym assignment." It feels so weird saying that out loud.
"I never thought I would see the day gym has assignments." Lila says laughing.
"Besides we still have time." Lila shrugs.
"No, we only have a month. And we have to make a routine and you still have to teach me how to dance."
"Alright fine but first help me get up." She says holding out her hands me to grab. I pulled her up from the chair and she stumbled into me. We both landed hard on the ground with me breaking her fall ."Lila get off of me."
I mumbled her trying to gasp for air.
"Sorry." Lila says as she sits up. "Okay, do you know how do a split?"
My face heats up in embarrassment as I look away. "Umm, is that really necessary."
"Oh My God. You can't do split." Lila shouted.
"Wow, thanks Lila. Feel free to let the whole world know." I said sarcastically as I glared at her.
"Relax. Our walls are soundproof."
I sighed and started regretting my decision to team up with Lila before she connected her phone to a speaker and started dancing.
Her movements were fluid and perfectly rhymed with the music. Its like she felt the music and let it guide her.
I was astonished by Lila's ability to dance that I hadn't even noticed the fact that Nate was standing at her door.
"Keep it down will you. Youre awful music is so loud that I can't concentrate on what I am doing."
"Please, what important thing would you be doing right now?" Lila questioned her eyebrow slightly raised.
"Unlike you Lila, some of us actually take life seriously." Nathaniel spoke haughtily. I looked I realised he was stressed and his shoulders were tense.
But I decided to bug him just for fun. "We were actually doing something serious. Though you could join us if you want."
"And what would anything that involves music and my sister be deemed as serious." Lila let out a small hey most likely offended.
"Its our gym assignment. We have to make a......." He cut me off before I could finish.
"I honestly dont care but just keep your music down so that I can focus." And with that, he walked away.
"Asshole." Lila muttered loud enough for him to hear.
"I heard that."
"You were supposed to." Lila and I said in unison .
"So back to our work." I clapped my hands fo get Lila's attention. "Have you planned any routine for us?"
"Nope. I honestly just thought that we should follow the music and see where it takes us." My eye involuntarily twitched as soon as I heard Lila's bullshit plan.
But fortunately for her, I didnt have any energy to argue so I simply sighed and followed her lead.
By the end of our training session, we had absolutely nothing. It was all just a big waste of time. Lila simply shrugged and said we would get better and I honestly believed her because I didnt want to continue.
The next day at school, I sat bored during math as Morgan talked about a new pair of shoes that she so desperately wanted. I sighed and dropped my head onto my desk before I heard a deep voice call my name.
I looked up and saw our young and according to Morgan, extremely hot math teacher Mr Kelson look at me with a frown on his face.
"Would you give me the answer to this question Miss Martin?" He said pointing at the equation he had scrawled on the board.
"Its negative one, sir." I replied not really even bothered. Brooke, Flora and Morgan turned to look at me, shock written all over their faces.
"Pay attention next time Miss Martin." Mr Kelson said as he turned back to the board.
I picked up my things as soon as the lesson ended and followed Morgan before I heard my name.
I knew I was in trouble so I cautiously walked towards my math teachers desk and stood by waiting for the whole you should pay attention in class speech.
"According to your records, you have quite an impressive academic history Miss Martin." Mr Kelson said to me.
"Um thanks, I really enjoy school I guess."
"Anyways I called you here because I was wondering if you wanted to transfer to a more progressive class. Something that i believe would better suit you."
I internally cringed as soon as I heard Mr Kelson say this. I did not want to be in a class with freaks and nerds.
Even at my old school i at least had a decent spot on the social hierarchy.
"I am sorry Mr Kelson but I am going to have to pass on that offer. I like this class and I honestly dont want to change." I said my tone laced with sugar as I put on one of my best fake smiles.
He simply nodded and I took that as my cue to leave.
"What was that all about?" Morgan inquired, her blue eyes suspicious.
"It was nothing. Mr Kelson was just asking me if I wanted to switch classes."
"Yikes, but your lucky you got to spend a few extra minutes with him. He ignores me every time I try to flirt with him." Morgan pouted.
"That's probably because he knows what your doing."
"Hey, I can be really subtle when I want to."
"Then I guess you never want to be subtle." I sassily replied. Morgan simply huffed and bumped her shoulder into mine.
At lunch, we sat waiting for the boys who had had an abrupt swim team meeting to show. The twins were some place else and the rest of the school aimlessly chatted all around us.
"I dont have anything to wear on Friday night." Brooke whined next to me.
"We should go shopping after school today." Flora suggested not even looking up from her phone.
"Does what we wear really even matter. I mean its just a party." I piped up.
"Of course it does. We have a reputation to uphold and I really want to look good." Brooke said. " Which is why we are all going shopping after school."
I wanted to disagree seeing as I didnt have a ride home but Morgan offered to give me one.
The boys then arrived and Morgan immediately scooted next to Ryan and started flirtingly ask how his day was.
"I bet you fifty bucks that Morgan and Ryan are going to hook up by the end of this week." Flora spoke up beside me.
I watched the way Morgan continuously blinked in an attempt to be sexy but it instead made her look like a lost sheep and the way she played with the ends of Ryan's blazer.
"Deal." I said into Flora's ear. We shook hands from under the table and she went off to talk to Brooke.
"I am assuming this seat is free?" I heard a voice right beside me.
I turned to look at Chadwick who had a boyish grin on his face.
"Yeah, everyone pretty much ditched me." I said as he sat down. He laughed most likely thinking that I was joking.
"Dont worry, I am more than willing to keep you company. I was actually wondering when we would finally get someone sensible to sit with us."
"Hey." Morgan who was most likely listening to our conversation spoke up.
"We all know its true Morgan." Chadwick responded. "Now can you at least try to keep your nose out of my business."
Morgan simply huffed and went back to Ryan.
"So Sienna, tell me a bit about yourself?"
"Okay, I hate sports. Like alot."
"Saying that to a jock is pretty offensive, just so you know." Chadwick responded with a fake frown.
"Dont worry. I might put your feelings into consideration next time." I said much to Chadwick's amusement.
"She cares." Chadwick said with his hand over his chest. "But continue."
"I hate chocolate."
"Are you serious? How could you hate chocolate. Its like one of the best things ever invented."
"Its disgusting." I said cringing.
"Well remind me to never get you chocolate."
"Anyways enough about me. Tell me about yourself." I asked wanting to change the subject.
"Well apart from the fact that I am super sexy, what else do you need to know?" Chadwick smirked as he said this.
"You forgot to mention the fact that you're super cocky too."
"Oh, come on love. You know its true." My cheeks flared up at the sudden nickname. I mentally scolded myself for even having such a reaction. I have only known him for a day.
"Come on Chadwick, you're not being fair."
"Alright fine but you need to help me here. What do you want to know?"
"Do you have any hobbies?" I asked not wanting to delve into personal issues.
"Well apart from swimming, I am an all time ladies man." He said with a smirk.
I simply scoffed and turned to my now cold spaghetti.
"Wow Chadwick, you really know to charm the ladies." Morgan teased.
"Wow Morgan, you really know how to mind your own business." Chadwick retorted.
I simply giggled and went back to eating my lunch.
Immediately after school, I met Calliope in the parking lot to inform her of my plans.
"Hey, I am pitching a ride with a friend of mine so tell Michael not to wait for me."
"Sure, have fun." My step sister muttered.
"Yeah, you to." I said as I hurriedly walked away."
Morgan is standing by a white Porsche when I approach her.
"Come on Sienna. I dont have all day."
I huff and get into the car. Morgan immediately drives off as blasting loud music. Brook texts us as soon as we reach the mall she had apparently already picked out a pair of heels.
We meet up with them at a store that Brooke claimed to be top notch. And judging by the fact all the outfits here were a hundred dollars and above I believed it.
We all pick out what to try on and retreated to the different dressing rooms.
I had on a white strapless figure hugging dress that was way too tight for me but the plus side is that I looked good.
I walked out and found Brooke in silky black long sleeved dress that looked two sizes too big for her. We both examined each others outfits before we came to the same conclusion.
We were switching.
I took Brooke's dress and she took mine and i surprisingly looked good in hers.
"Wow Sienna, you look so good." Morgan gushed as soon as she saw me.
"Thanks. Brooke you also look really good."
The white colour of the dress brought out her eyes and it complimented her tan skin.
"Too bad I am not wearing this to the party." We all turned as soon as Brooke said this. She literally dragged us here for nothing.
"Then what was the whole point of us coming here." Flora spoke up.
"I am still going to get the dress. Besides I didnt want to go shopping by myself."
We all scowled at Brooke as we walked to pay. At least I had picked up something cute from all this.
"So who is hungry." Morgan says as she walks towards the food court.
