"Maybe it wasn't Starscream?" (Y/N) hadn't been there when the Seeker had somehow crept onto the war ship, and Orion was growing increasingly suspicious of his brother-in-arms.
"I have already spoken to Megatron." Orion shook his helm. "He said that Starscream had become an Autobot."
Things were clearly not going according to Megatron's plan. (Y/N) could see that well enough, and more than likely if she was caught in between one of Orion's revelations or suspicious snooping around, then she'd be a perfect target for one of his eminent angered outbursts. She was practically in charge of the Archivist when left in his care.
"You- you weren't hurt, were you?" She asked in a wispy, hushed voice, hands clasped together in pure, innocent concern. Pure to Orion, anyway. She could tell her story would have to remain straight for the titan to even have an inkling of trust left in the Decepticon name. Thankfully, she was taught well.
"Only mildly frightened, little one." He pat her tiny helm with a digit, having begun to view her as a pet with his very little knowledge of her race. He understood she was sentient and very much so had free will, but he saw that these little gestures were accepted, and he enjoyed treating her this way. It was- cute. "I am only thankful you were not here during the encounter. I fear I would not have been able to protect you if you were a target."
"What do you mean? You're bigger than him, right?" She questioned, watching his digits go back to tapping on the keyboard.
"Perhaps, but Starscream was armed, whereas I am not even equipped with the basics of fighting strategy. If Megatron knew this might happen, I don't have the slightest clue why he would have put you in my care. I'd believe Soundwave to be the better choice considering he was the one to save you. Also, you are always ready to smile when Laserbeak comes to pick you up."
It had become a common sight. (Y/N) riding around on the back of Laserbeak. She learned many whispers had sprouted about Laserbeak possibly becoming attached, but it quickly died down and her presence with the drone was tolerated. Logic always trumped gossip when Laserbeak or Soundwave were the topic. No matter the rumor, even one with a human, they didn't last long, and no one else really saw (Y/N) smile except Optimus when the bird-like being came around. If she did not need to act than she didn't.
"Yeah but," she paused, and touched his servo as it passed by her, making the mech stop his typing, "we were both captured by the Autobots. I think Megatron's wish was to show we weren't alone in that."
"He has proven to be very considerate." Orion gave a small smile. "May I?"
The woman nodded, being picked up by the titan and gently hugged to his chassis.
"I am glad to have made a friend."
"Me too, Orion. Now let's get those archives decoded before the Autobots do!"
Determination in both their optics, Orion nodded, setting her down and beginning his typing once more. They watched the screen in silence for another long while before Soundwave appeared in the doorway, earning both computer-bound being's attention. The silent mech nodded to Orion, then looked to (Y/N). She held a bashful smile when he offered a servo for her to step on to, and she nodded her thanks as his digits closed around her enough to prevent her from falling, like a hammock.

"You really need better recordings then that when I need food." (Y/N) rolled her optics, earning a chuckle from the other mech before they said their 'goodbyes'.
(Y/N) dropped her smile once the door to the computer room closed and Soundwave had continued his walk. She guessed to the medical bay, since that was where she'd often be given something to eat. The woman was surprised when she was often given produce, so she assumed they robbed a farm.
"Forgive my earlier comment." Came the sudden apology. "Orion has commented on it before, claiming it makes me sound like an animal that doesn't know right from left. I assure I personally don't care, but if you are able, changing the usual phrase may bring his confidence up in believing the Decepticons truly care about me as an Autobot hostage."
She wasn't looking at the mech, so Soundwave didn't make any motion to show he was listening.
"This isn't the direction to the Medical wing." (Y/N) soon noted as they passed the hallway of their usual path. She looked up to the mech with a confused expression, delicate brows furrowed. "Have I been summoned for something else?"
Soundwave gave a short shake of his helm. She had not been, but the medical rooms were currently over full of patients after an energon mine collapsed. The mech did not want to have to practically wade through Vehicons just to feed the human femme. He had the sustenance needed in his own quarters anyway. That is where (Y/N)'s food came from, after all. She was unknowing of this fact, but never questioned where the fruits and vegetables came from, so Soundwave did not inform her. Besides, the less who knew, the better. Soundwave did not need a new rumor cropping up about his personal life. In truth, he didn't really have one until now. His life was wholly dedicated to the Decepticon cause, but the added responsibility of these Earthly plants added a fine line in his usual routine that now divided a work life and a leisure life. It was a rather unexpected, enjoyable addition.
Soundwave flipped through the cameras, taking note of a lone Vehicon standing where he maybe shouldn't be a few halls away, then entered his private quarters. The small gasp from the human in his servo made him halt his advance after the door closed, and he stared at her, wondering why such a usually emotionless human would let that wall slip. He caught her gaze's direction and tracked it to his back shelf, where the golden light glittered off the newly watered greenery. He understood she might be surprised to find her food supply intact and well taken care of, but enough to elicit an unusual show of true emotion? It seemed rather ridiculous.
Setting (Y/N) up on the shelf, he watched her intently as she checked the numerous varieties of flora she had collected. (Y/N) tested their soil, hydration, examined the carefully crafted grow lights she had made herself and even picked a cucumber, dusting it off before biting into it. She continued to munch before spotting the endangered plants she had collected, noticing one was beginning to bloom.
"I've never been able to make him bloom-" (Y/N) looked to Soundwave, her emotional wall cracking. She could feel a foreign ball of feeling form in her chest, like a lead weight trying to roll up into her throat. "Why did you keep all this?"
-/Human asset/Needs/Fuel/-
"I see." She nodded and turned her face away from his view as she gently held the vines of another plant. Some of these bore no fruit or any such edible thing, and she knew Soundwave would have researched these plants. So why did he keep these decorative or endangered flora? "Thank you."
Soundwave nodded, turning away and pointing his attention to the computer terminal in his quarters, knowing (Y/N) would inform him when she was done with her usual meal. However, he did not know of the tears that were beginning to soak her shirt as they fell past a relieved smile.
Her hobby and passion were saved by the least expected aboard the Nemesis. It made her feel a little less purposeless.
