I stood there for a second, and watched him walk way from me. Another word began to flicker over his head, 'Nothing'. "Nothing?" I say to myself. I still didnt understand this so called 'Gift', All it ever does is show me a flickering word over the intended person's head. I tried to think of what it could be, It took a while but I finally came up with something. "His worth..." I told myself, its what he thinks he's worth 'Nothing'. By the time guilty slammed into me, I noticed he was completely gone. I ran downstairs hoping that maybe he was still at the door, but I was wrong. "Braden!" I called out. I repeated his name until, I saw he wasnt there. I sighed, "You tried, but you didnt try hard enough." I turned around and saw Jayden. He put a hand on my shoulder and smirked. I glared at him, but all he did was walk off. I waved at Mrs.Julia as I walked out of the building, "Have a good day Denis." She smiled. I opened the doors and stepped out, looking up at the sky, "There must be a purpose..." I said. "There must be." I repeat. I clutch my backpack straps and start to walk to the college, opening the door Im hit with a bunch of chatting. 

"Wednesday is hump day, but has anyone asked the camel if he's happy about it?" 

"If the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy had babies would they take your teeth and leave chocolate for you?"

"We need to rent a room for our party."

"Malls are great places to shop; I can find everything I need under one roof."  

Random chatting to be exact. I tuned it all out and began to walk to meet up with the rest of the guys. "AY!" Elijah yelled from the other side of the hall. "Hey" I said blandly. "Whats wrong?" Alex asked. "Nothing." I answer. "Quit lying." Sub crossed his arms. "Spill the beans." Ethan egged on. "It nothing guys, really." I try to smile. "You liar." Elijah's smile vanishes. "Have any of you guys seen Braden today?" I ask. "Thats it, Isnt it?" Sub asked. "No, I just didnt get to see him last night." I lie. "Yea, How came you didnt show up last night?" Alex asked. "Braden was looking forward to it ya know." Ethan added. The guilt kept piling onto my shoulders.  "I know gosh darn it!" I yell. Everyone turns our way, I awkwardly smile. "Sorry.." I say, everyone continues their daily activities. "Just answer the question; Where is Bra-"  hear heavy foot steps running towards me. "Denis!" A voice called out. I turned around, "Jayden?" I say. "What are you going here?" I ask. He breaths heavily, "I dont..have..time..to explain." He says. "Where's Braden? Isnt he with you?" I ask. Jayden shakes his head. "Jayden...What did you do?" I ask sternly. "I didnt do anything, I swear." He looks me dead in the eyes showing me honesty. "Can you stop asking me questions? We need to go." He grabs my hand and starts to quickly run. The guys didnt have the ability to keep up with the two of us. "What are you-" He cut me off "Shut it Kopotun, Braden needs you right now." He says.  "But arnt you two-" We run up the Dorm stairs. "I cant convince him. Whatever he said to you forget it." He says guiding me onto the roof of the dorm building. He shoves me, my body flies forward. Once I get my balance, I look up, I see a figure at the very edge of the building. The figure has their hands stretched out, looking up to the sky. "Dont-!" I yell out. The figures arms lower, as they step closer to the edge. The figure hovers one foot over the edge. The doors to the doors burst open, "DENIS!" Ethan yells out. I start to notice the rest of their body falling off. I instantly get up onto my feet and run towards the figure, grabbing their hand. 

I was too Late.

As I grabbed the figure's hand, They had taken me with them. I soon notice who this person was, Braden. We started to fall quickly off of the 5 story building, for a moment, everything began to slow down. I looked at Braden, his eyes closed prepared to give up his life. "Braden?" I say. He opens his eyes very slightly to look at me, his blue eyes filled with tears. "Why?" His tears starting to fall. "Why did you do it?" He repeated. I didnt know what to say at the moment..

"Make Braden happy, dont let anything stop you..."

My mother's words rang. I looked at Braden and smiled, his face full of sorrow. I pulled him close to me, hugging him tightly. Braden cried into my shoulder. I lifted up his cheek and kissed him passionately. I wiped away the last tears Braden had in his eyes, he looked me in my eyes once more, "Are we gonna die?" He asks. I put my fingers on his cheeks, "Braden..Listen to me. We're not going to die. You hear me?" I gently smile. He nods slightly. Everything starts to move quickly again as it did before. We began to fall rapidly. I hold Braden close to my chest, and close my eyes.

"There must be a purpose.." 

CRASH.
