Second Life
Y/nstar's P.O.V
I growled and stared up at it. Its huge slavering jaws were wide open, eyes wide with excitement and revenge. I crouched and yowled angrily at it. "You killed my mate and my kit! I will never forgive you!" I snarled, the leaders stood next to me, fur bristling and growls deep in their throats. Silverstar hissed and unsheathed her claws after every other cat had. ThunderClan poured in and stood with us, ShadowClan, WindClan, RiverClan, and MoonClan stood with us. "Attack!" I snarled, leaping onto the great beasts back, Crowflight leaped up beside me, growling and raking his claws down its spine viciously. The dog howled in rage and rolled over, squishing us beneath it. I hissed as I saw Moonflower and Rainflower try to help and let out a sigh of relief as Cloudpelt and Graywing told them to stay in the nursery. They raced into battle and I was dragged from under the dog by Crowflight who had managed to struggle free. The dog was covered in cats. I yowled. "ThunderClan, ShadowClan, RiverClan retreat!" The ShadowClan, ThunderClan, and RiverClan cats backed off and raced out of the gorse tunnel. WindClan and MoonClan were all that was left. I leaped onto the dogs stomach and sank my claws into the soft flesh, ripping the stomach open and instantly being splattered with blood. I yelped in shock and leaped back. I stumbled and watched as the Clan cats let up their attack. I suddenly felt a pain and coughed up blood. I watched in terror as the ground seemed to sway beneath me and the world went black.
When I woke up I was at Fourtrees, starlight glittered around my paws and I shrieked. "No I can't be dead! I need to go back!" I whirled around frantically until I came nose to nose with Icefur. She blinked. "Oh my precious kit. Do not fear, you will go back. Your body is just recovering. You will be sent back once the death blow has been healed." She whispered into my ear. I shuddered. My eyes flickered in the dull light and I closed my eyes. When I opened them again I was in Silvertail's den, the scent of herbs all around me. I lifted my head and a white paw gently pushed my head back down. I hissed quietly as I looked up and saw Whitestar, his amber eyes gleaming with worry. "Oh thank StarClan you're all right. Silvertail told me to watch over you until she came back. I was worried that you wouldn't wake up." He sighed, looking out to the entrance of the den. Silvertail's voice rang around the den. "You can leave now, Whitestar. She is awake and she will recover quite nicely." She shoved him out of the den with her paws and walked over. "How are you feeling, Y/nstar? Does anything hurt?'" She asked. I groaned. "My head." She nodded and came back with a poppy seed. "Take this. It will dull the pain and make you sleepy. Now I have to see to your wounds. Stand if you can." She instructed gently. I stood up and wobbled a little. She nodded. "Take Crowflight and go to the stream to wash off the blood." She nudged me gently out of her den and grabbed some herbs, taking them out and walking over to four other cats. Medicine cats. I thought and nodded to Whitestar on the way out. I limped up to Crowflight and asked him to take me to the stream and he nodded, letting me go first outside and quickly slipping out behind me. I waited and struggled after him once we got outside. When we got to the stream I squeaked at how cold the water was before reluctantly lowering myself in. I ducked under and pulled myself back up. I scrambled out and shook the water out of my fur before limping slightly back to the camp. I sat in the clearing as Silvertail checked me over. Thank StarClan I was the only cat with serious injuries. "I sent Goldentail, Shineheart, and Littlefang out to gather marigold. They may not have serious injuries but they do have them and I can't risk them getting infected wounds." She nodded politely to me and I licked my lips. I scrambled up into the Tall Tree and let out a summoning. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath Tall Tree for a Clan meeting!" I realized something. "I would like all the Clans to be here!" I added and sat down. The ThunderClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan, and WindClan leaders joined us, their cats seated below. I looked at the leaders. "How long do you think you will need to stay?" I tilted my head at Whitestar but it was Crowstar that answered. "We have discussed this and we will stay for a few more sunrises before we leave. We were going to ask you to come with us. We understand that you could not bear to lose your homes as we have." I looked at him. "Are you aware that you will have to hunt for us and yourselves? We, in return, will hunt for us and you. Only if you promise to help us and allow our warriors to join on mingled patrol." I blinked slowly at him and he nodded. "Yes Y/nstar. We have come to accept that we will not stay anywhere without pulling our own weight." He dipped his head respectfully. "Silvertail! Find the medicine cats of the other Clans and make them nests in your den! Any queen that is expecting kits will be shown to the nursery! Moonflower and Rainflower please round up the expecting queens and make them nests! Warrior she-cats will sleep in the warriors den! Toms, you are tough enough to sleep outside but please make sure that you have comfortable nests! Leaders will sleep in my den if that is okay with you?" I looked at them for approval and they all nodded. "Of course. This is your Clan and your home so we will respect your wishes." Silverstar said. I looked back down at the cats. "Any cats with injuries from the dog fight go see your medicine cat for herbs. I don't need infection spreading through my camp." I jumped down from the tree to signal that the meeting was over and winced as I landed badly. Whitestar helped me to my paws after he jumped down and went to my den. "Stay here. We'll ask one of your warriors to help us with the bedding." He said and left. I scowled and padded back outside of the den. A snowflake fell on my nose and I groaned. "I should've known leaf-bare was here!" I looked at all the cats and suddenly noticed that they were thin. I groaned and called to my deputy, Stormpelt. He dipped his head to the other deputies, Silverflame, Hollyblaze, Lionfeather, and Jayleaf before walking over to me. "Yes, Y/nstar?" He tilted his head. "Send out hunting patrols immediately. I did not notice leaf-bare was so close and I lacked to send out patrols. Discuss the best hunters and send them out together. We'll need all the help we can get from the other Clans especially now that it's leaf-fall." He dipped his head and walked over to the other four deputies. I turned around and yelped as I ran into Whitestar. "Yes? Did you need something?" He snorted and looked me up and down before walking by with a low whisper in my ear. "Meet me tonight at the stream." I shuddered, his voice deep and confident. I scowled at myself and kneaded the ground in frustration. Silvertail walked up me and sighed, shaking her head. "That Whitestar sure seems to have one eye and ear out for you." She shook her head and I growled. "I know and it's so" cute "frustrating!" I shook my head and looked at her.
That night. Even though I told myself I wouldn't go. I did. I went. I slipped out of camp with a polite nod to Oakfur who sat guard. I went to the stream and sat, f/c fur shining in the moonlight. Whitestar appeared soon after and I purred softly at him. He licked my cheek and whispered to me. "Even though we just met I can't get you out of my head." He whispered. "There's something about you." He muttered. I looked at him and blinked before nuzzling his cheek. "Then let's." I whispered and he knew exactly what I meant as soon as I said that.
Not even two moons later I found out I was expecting kits, and the worst part is. We weren't in our home anymore. The Clan leaders words had come true and now we were traveling. Moonflower walked beside Oakfur and Cloudpelt, the two warriors carrying her two kits. Rainflower panted. She was due very soon. In less than a moon and I knew I shouldn't be making her do this but I had no choice. Graywing looked at her with worry in his eyes. "One more Thunderpath and we can stop!" I called. Every cat cheered with relief. "First. The queens and their kits!" I yowled and once all the queens and their kits were safe on the other side, yes even Rainflower, I sent the elders with a warrior from each Clan. Then I sent the deputies, then the senior warriors, then the warriors and last but not least us. We crossed and found a safe place to shelter. Rainflower was the first cat to be comfortable. All the other queens were stuck finding a nest of their own. Moonflower in the other paw was under a tree root, her kits suckling at her side. I sighed and made sure every cat was comfortable before finding a place to lay down. I looked up as Blackclaw and Whitestar padded over. I looked at them. Blackclaw looked at me and then sighed. "Y/nstar... If you didn't want to be mates I would've been okay with that. But with the ThunderClan leader?" He shook his head. "You're expecting his kits aren't you?" He asked, eyes narrowed with hurt. I nodded "Yes. But Blackclaw there's no way they can know that Whitestar is their father. Please. I'm begging you to father these kits..." I whispered. Whitestar looked offended. "I'm sorry Whitestar but we'd both be scorned by our clanmates if they ever found out that we had kits together..." I whimpered.
~Two moons later~
I yawned. Swiftclaw and Leafthorn growled angrily at two ShadowClan warriors. Coincidentally it was a she-cat Swiftclaw was fighting with and a tom Leafthorn was fighting with. "Swiftclaw leave Sweetthorn alone. Leafthorn leave Wolfclaw alone." I growled. They growled and I looked at the makeshift nursery. Sandtail lay on the floor of the nursery, four kits at her side. Crowflight, the proud father, stood at the entrance, eyes gleaming proudly. Sandtail was a little old to be mothering kits and I recognized that all of my littermates were dead. Oakfur died of greencough, Stormpelt died of blackcough, Silverheart died giving birth to Goldentail's two kits. Rainflower has whitecough and Silvertail was sick, her apprentice, Foxpaw, was stuck taking care of every cat with help from the ShadowClan medicine cat apprentice, Swiftpaw, who raced back from Foxpaw and Littlefang. Goldentail's apprentice, (WindClan) Badgerpaw, would also help out. I was surprised when neither RiverClan or ThunderClan got an apprentice but I knew ThunderClan would soon. Ravenpaw couldn't stay out of the medicine den. RiverClan had a promising kit, Cinderkit couldn't seem to help herself. I looked at the little kits scrambling around and sighed. I looked at my stomach and then at Whitestar who was happily engaged in conversation with his deputy. Her eyes shined when she looked at him and a pang of jealousy flashed through me. She was perfect for him. She has beautiful silver fur with black stripes, she had two different colored eyes and that was different. Whitestar liked different. I looked away and started walking out of the small camp. Warriors had been told not to have kits if they could help it so that when the kits we have now turn six moons we could make them apprentices and get on with our journey. I pushed my way through and bumped into Icestorm. She scoffed at me and pushed her way past, I noticed her belly had become bigger and realized she was expecting kits. I groaned in soft protest and pushed my way out the rest of the way. As I was going to the farm, Crowstar followed after Icestorm, eyes bright. I knew it. Crowstar the ShadowClan leader was mated with the RiverClan deputies daughter. I groaned. "Now we have to wait extra moons before we can leave. The monsters may have already caught up and she couldn't seem to help herself to the ShadowClan leader." I rolled my eyes and jumped as I heard Whitestar speak. "We can't say anything about that though. I couldn't keep my paws off of you and you couldn't keep your paws off of me." He purred and licked my cheek. I rubbed it away stubbornly and huffed. "Yeah but she makes it obvious." I grumbled. He chuckled and flicked his tail affectionately across my flank. I looked at him and a soft purr returned his gently twinkling eyes. "At least I'm three moons ahead of her. Isn't she two moons?" I tilted my head and he nodded. "Which means you're due in one month aren't you?" (Tbh I don't know how long cats are preggers for soooo) I nodded and his eyes lit up. "I can't wait to have our kits." He stopped and corrected himself. "I mean. I can't wait for you to have your kits, new life is always welcome." I rolled my eyes and butted his flank, sending him tumbling down the side of the hill. I purred and sat there as he scrambled up the hill again, tackling me and rolling down the hill together. I threw my paws around his neck and tugged with my claws lightly. I got up and shook off my pelt and looked up at the top of the hill. Silvertail stood there, her eyes wide with disbelief. I looked at my paws as she came stumbling down and I looked at her when she reached us. "Y/nstar what have you done?" She asked in barely a whisper. "Silvertail I didn't mean for it to happen I swear!" I tried to find the words to start explaining but she stopped me short. "What you've done is breaking the warrior code. For that I shall never forgive you." And with that she collapsed and she never got back up.
