Moonflower's Prophecy

Y/nkit's P.O.V

I ran and I ran. Away from the still body of Thistleclaw and the shocked and horrified Whitestorm. I ran to the river and dived in the icy cold water. Jaws clasped around my scruff and I went limp for fear it was a RiverClan warrior trying to kill me for trespassing. When I was pulled out of the water I saw that it was my apprentice lover from RiverClan. His eyes twinkled like they used to when I was F/W/N. He pulled me out and I coughed up the water. "Y/npaw what're you doing here? If Crookedstar found out you were here he'd kill you! Much less the fact I pulled you out of the water." He hissed, licking my fur the wrong way to try to warm me up. "Silverfang I'm okay I promise." I hissed in return. That's when I heard it, a RiverClan patrol crashing through the forest, Timberfur, the RiverClan deputy in the lead, with Oakheart, my former father, and Silverstream, Crookedstar's daughter. "Silverfang step away from the trespasser!" Oakheart commanded. Silverfang stepped away and I struggled to my paws and glared defiantly at them. "My apologies. Take me to Crookedstar if you wish. It makes no difference by how I die. Water kills me. Or StarClan prophesies that I die at the paws of a weak leader too scared to lay a paw on his cheating daughter." I hissed. Silverstream looked taken aback. "I've not met with a ShadowClan cat!" She cried defiantly. "I never said a ShadowClan cat. But the ShadowClan cat is probably Blackstream." I hissed, her eyes wide with fear and shock. My e/c eyes gleamed with triumph that I had exposed Crookedstar's daughter in front of her clanmates. "Stop your lies!" She hissed even though her trembling voice told me that I had hit her breaking point. "Why should I? You're only going to be called a traitor, useless, fleabag, and a fox-heart for polluting your pure RiverClan blood." I hissed in her ear. A silver-gray pelt flashed at the edge of my vision and I saw Moonflower with her jaws gaped in horror. I stopped, realizing what I had said and done and shook my head. I apologized to Silverstream and ran off toward the ShadowClan border, knowing they'd take me in if I asked. I was too friendly with the ShadowClan leader, no not mates, but he did like me because of my fiery attitude and the way I won't put up with his crap.

When I ran across the border into ShadowClan I headed straight to the camp. Even if Coldstar had died in while I was gone, I was still super friendly with the rest of his clan. I padded into camp and Coldstar padded up to me, not recognizing me at first but then he licked my cheek and invited me to stay for a while. "Coldstar can we go to your den? I want to talk to you about something." I mewed. "Of course. Follow me. Shreddedheart set the patrols!" He yowled over his shoulder to the deputy who nodded and turned to a large crowd of ShadowClan warriors. He settled down into his den and I walked in after him and sat down. "I want to join ShadowClan." I mewed. He looked shocked and asked me why. After I had told him my story he nodded and we walked out of his den. He leaped up the tree and called a Clan meeting. When every cat was gathered he introduced me as a new ShadowClan apprentice and appointed me to Shreddedheart as a mentor. I nodded and touched noses with him. "I'll go find some moss and clean out your nest, Coldstar and Shreddedheart." I promised and stalked out of the tunnel while looking for moss to collect. When I had scraped together more than I could carry, I had to have Coldstar and Shreddedheart help me take the moss back to camp which took six trips to get it all in. I squeezed out the moisture and started on Coldstar's nest first, plucking strands of stale, stinky moss out of his nest and putting the fresh moss in and picking up the dirty moss, placing it by the dirtplace tunnel. I went into the warriors den, I stayed here quite frequently when life in ThunderClan was too much, and plucked moss out of Shreddedheart's nest and put fresh moss in, putting the dirty moss with Coldstar's moss. I added my nest next to Coldstar's because he had insisted we share a den. I don't know why but it was what he wanted. I then started to work on the elders' den, I started first on Silverheart's nest because she was the only one in the den at the moment and she was complaining that her nest felt so stiff she couldn't move. When I was done she licked me between the ears and thanked me. I did the other elders' nests and then took the big wad of stinky moss and placed it with Coldstar's and Shreddedheart's.

When I fell asleep that night, sleep came rough and hard. "Y/npaw! You're destined for greatness. Shadow will build your heart and Thunder will crack your spine." She hissed.
