From the eyes of the Clan leader

Waterstar's P.O.V

I watched the three new kits scrambling around camp, kicking up sand wherever they went. I twitched my whiskers in amusement. I looked at my own kit. She raced from the medicine den and into the elders' den, teeth grasping a stick and her lips curled in disgust. I got down off my tree and padded over to the nursery. Raincloud poked her head out and nodded at me. "I was just coming to check on my beautiful kits, Waterstar." I nodded at her and stepped aside to let her through before padding in and looking at my other kit. "Brownpaw. Take a walk with me." I ordered. "Oh but, Fernclaw's nest isn't clean yet. Just a few more heartbeats Waterstar?" He begged. I sighed and nodded. "Of course." I stepped out of the den and waited for him, he padded out soon after and I nodded at him before walking out of the camp, making sure he was following me. "Brownpaw. I think it's time I made you and Yellowpaw warriors." I looked at him and his eyes widened. "I was planning on doing it today but if you're not ready then maybe I can get Silvermist to rethink this?" I looked at him from a side glance and he was shaking his head. "No! I can become a warrior today!" I purred. "That's my good boy, go find your sister and tell her you'll not be sleeping in the apprentices den anymore." He nodded and ran off to the medicine den. Silvermist padded up to me and I looked at him. "Yes, Silvermist?" I asked, looking at him. "Are you sure he's ready to become a warrior? He's not finished his tests yet." He seemed worried. "Silvermist, it is not your job to tell me how to run my Clan." I turned around and padded back in the camp. I got up in my tree and called for a Clan meeting. Eventually every cat gathered. I looked down proudly at my son and his denmate. "I, Waterstar, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon these apprentices, they have trained hard to understand your noble code and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn." I leaped down and looked at Yellowpaw. "Yellowpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan even at the cost of your life?" I asked. She nodded. "I do." She replied. "From this moment, you shall be known as Yellowstone, we welcome you as a full RiverClan warrior."

~Three moons later~

I watched Raincloud's kits scramble around, Fernclaw sat outside watching them, her own kit scrambling around, Jaykit and Oakkit scrabbling at each other. I leaped into the tree. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the tree for a Clan meeting!" I called and waited for the cats to come out of their dens, Y/nkit, and her much shier brother, Leopardkit sat next to her in the clearing and Oakkit nosed him as he sat next to him, I started their naming ceremony. "From this day forward this kit shall be known as Y/npaw." I turned to Brownpelt and purred with pride. "You shall be her mentor. I trust you to pass on your skills and patience onto this young she-cat." I let them touch noses before I turned to her brother and purred at him. "From this day forward this kit shall be known as Leopardpaw." I turned to Yellowstone and nodded at her. "I trust you to be patient with this young cat, Yellowstone. Do not rush his training for he is as timid as a mouse." I teased him and my eyes gleamed. I turned to Oakkit and nodded at him. "From this day forward he shall be known as Oakpaw." I turned to Fernclaw and my eyes lit up with even bigger pride. "I trust you to train this kit well for he is as hyper as a newborn kit."I chuckled and started calling their names. I was scared for these new apprentices. Leaf-bare was here and they wouldn't be able to feed the Clan as well as they would hope to.

I watched them pad out of the camp and noticed that Heatherheart and Silvermist cuddled up to each other, their kits running around trying to provide for them. I growled and stalked over. "Heatherheart if you're not going to provide for the Clan the way your kits are I suggest you leave." I growled. She got up and hissed at me before leaving and going hunting and I glared at Silvermist. "And you are still on apprentice duties for having a mate and kits outside of the Clan." I snarled. "Yes, Waterstar." He got up and walked over to the medicine den where Ivypaw started bossing him around. I snickered and turned to talk to my deputy before realizing he was on apprentice duties. I rolled my eyes.

~Two moons later~

I started to realize that Brownpelt and Y/npaw were growing close and my pelt pricked. I could've never imagined that those two were going to be mates. Jaypaw walked out of the apprentices den and stretched his legs, walking over to Goldenclaw and nosing her in greeting. She was Ivypaw's mentor but she had been a warrior cat before being a medicine cat and we had no other cat to train him. Our clan was small but I knew it was going to grow bigger than I could've ever imagined. I nodded at them and then looked at Ivypaw. My precious daughter was bossing Silvermist around and I meowed in amusement. That was my daughter, it was a half moon tonight so she and Goldenclaw were going to go to the Moonpool and recieve her medicine cat name so that way Goldenclaw would be free to mentor Jaypaw without having two apprentices.

Ivypaw came back from the Moonpool and immediately ran up to me. "Ivypool!" She exclaimed. "They named me Ivypool!" (I know that it's copyright but I genuinely couldn't think of anything else.) I about to praise her before I heard a pained scream and Goldenclaw came into the camp a few heartbeats later, Y/npaw laying on her back, whimpering in pain, her jaw crooked. I immediately realized what had happened. I raced over and sniffed her all over. Brownpelt looked at her and immediately recoiled. "Her jaw... Her precious jaw..." He whimpered at her and she looked at him and whimpered. He flinched and backed away. "She's so... Ugly now..." Her eyes portrayed the hurt that she couldn't say and I saw a flash of beautiful gray fur tackle Brownpelt and a yowl of pain sounded. "Y/npaw is more beautiful than you'll ever be you fox-heart! Even with her crooked jaw!" I knew who it was, it was Jaypaw. The hostility in his voice was apparent. Oakpaw and Leopardpaw raced over and held Jaypaw back. "Jaypaw be easy! She broke her jaw she doesn't need you to be assaulting her mentor!" Leopardpaw hissed. That was the most I've ever heard Leopardpaw talk without stuttering or being quieter. Jaypaw hissed and snapped his teeth at him. "He doesn't deserve her!" He growled, unsheathing his claws. A soft whimper came from Y/npaw and she looked at Jawpaw who raced over and licked her cheek.

(Alright time for your P.O.V in the next chapter, good luck surviving the angst.)
