Twenty

I yawn, waking to the sound of my alarm clock. I turn it off and slowly realize that Lachlan has pulled me so close to his own body, making me blush fifty shades of red. I turn my body towards him and he pulls me even closer, if that's possible. I sigh against his chest, not wanting to get up. It's so peaceful and I feel so safe and I have butterflies in my stomach and everything is just perfect I can't. I don't want this moment to end.

I pout, knowing that my dreams have come to an end. This is reality and it clearly does not like me.

"Lachlan?" I whisper, but he doesn't respond. Typical Lachlan, always sleeping. "Lachlan, we have to get up." I say a little louder, shaking him. I end up with the same results. "LACHLAN POWER!" I yell, and immediately he bolts upright.

"What?" He asks, rubbing his eyes. Meaning he let go of me. And now I feel cold and empty.

Although his morning voice is... Really sexy.

"We have to get ready. Our flight leaves in an hour." I respond, deciding to get up and start the long day.

"... Ugh. Alright." He groans from behind me. I walk to the kitchen and make two bowls of cereal. I quickly finish mine and Lachlan emerges from my bedroom; running a hand through his bed hair and still trying to wake. My heart skips a beat as I realize he looks extremely hot.

I smile and put away my bowl as Lachlan sits down to eat. "Thanks!" He calls as I walk down the hallway to the bathroom.

"No problem!" I say back, grabbing some comfortable leggings, an oversized top, and a hoodie. I put on light makeup, brush my teeth and brush through my long brown hair, then return to the living room with my suitcase.

Lachlan emerges a few moments later and my heart stops as I notice he's wearing jeans and a skin tight t-shirt that shows off his really nice stomach, abs on the way. I snap out of my reverie as he plops down next to me and I check the time.

"We gotta goooo!" I yell, standing up and pulling Lachlan by the hand with me. He grabs his suitcase and we both hustle out the door, our hands entwined and my heart beating at my risky actions.

We arrive at the airport and immediately get on the plane; I got the window seat while Lachlan is right next to me in the middle. Luckily, nobody else is in our row so it's just the two of us.

"God, I'm so tired." I yawn as we take off and I look out the window.

"Take a rest then." Lachlan says. "You can rest your head on my shoulder if you want."

"Aw thanks Lachy." I reply, scooting closer to him and resting my head on his shoulder. I smile as my eyes start to droop and the last thing I remember is grabbing his hand.

I wake up a few hours later and notice that Lachlan is asleep and our hands are still entwined. I decide to not move as I feel extremely comfortable and like I'm on cloud 9; no pun intended. Just this small form of contact between us has my heart racing.

Who knew that this boy could do that to me?

A few minutes later, Lachlan wakes and I move my head off of his shoulder, as it probably hurts now.

"What time is it?" He asks, and I check my phone.

"Lunch time." I respond as I notice the flight attendant walking around with a trolley.

"That means food!" Lachlan says, making me smile.

It is at that moment when I realize that Lachlan and I are still holding hands, and I blush.

"Um... Lachlan? We're still holding hands." I say, looking at our hands that seem almost perfect for each other, and then back at his crystal blue eyes.

"I'm too lazy to let go." He says, smiling at me. "And even if I did I don't think you would like that."

"Lachlan." I say, trying to hide the rising blush.

Why is he so flirty all of a sudden?

Is he on his man period?

"Would you two lovebirds like some food?" The attendant says, making the hiding blush completely rise, and I notice a tiny hint of pink on Lachlan's cheeks as well.

"Sure, please." He responds, and the attendant hands us our food. Which means Lachlan and I stop holding hands.

I frown at the loss of warmth but decide to eat my lunch. A turkey sandwich with a bag of chips, two cookies and a cup of fruit along with a bottle of water. The flight attendant moves on  and I start to eat.

"I love this movie!" I enthusiastically say, scooting closer to Lachlan to see it from his screen.

"Really, ghostbusters?" He asks, rolling his eyes.

"Hell yes! It's my childhood, so deal with it." I say as we both watch the movie.

After it ends I look at Lachlan and say, "Who you gonna call?"

He rolls his eyes but plays along because he knows that if he doesn't I will seriously hurt him. Just kidding. "Ghostbusters!"

I smile. "Love that movie! Bravo! Amazing! 10/10 would recommend!" I clap at the end.

Lachlan just rolls his eyes. "Isn't there something more entertaining on?" He asks, flipping through the channels. Although there's only like three.

"Wait go back!" I say, hearts in my eyes.

"What, why?" He asks.

"You just passed The Notebook." I respond, literal hearts flowing out of my body.

"We're not watching that." Lachlan says, and I pout.

"Please? Pretty please? Pretty please with cherries on top? And some whipped cream?" I beg, looking into his handsome eyes.

He sighs. "Alright, alright. But only cause you're acting kinda cute." He mutters the last part, making me blush.

He thinks I'm cute?
