Thirty

We get out of the car exactly twenty minutes later. I walk to the edge of the parking lot, where concrete meets sand, and call back at Lachlan, "Hurry up!"

"I'm grabbing both the chairs and the umbrella." He huffs, doing exactly what he says. He closes the trunk as I brush my hair out of my face, watching as Lachlan makes his way over to me. He smiles and we both walk down to the beach. I stand, taking in the beauty of everything as Lachlan sets up the umbrella.

"Aright. Finished." Lachlan says, and I turn back towards him to find that he is already looking at me. I smile, grabbing a chair and setting it up as Lachlan does the same. I sit down as he grabs the last burrito.

"It's so pretty." I sigh, watching as wave after wave crashes onto the sand.

"... Yep." Lachlan agrees.

After a minute or two I pop up. "Let's go!" Lachlan raises an eyebrow at me as I add, "to the ocean!" He nods as I start to take off my romper, but suddenly feel conscious about my body.

It's just Lachlan. It's fine.

I slightly shake my head and completely take off my romper. I stuff it in my bag and watch as Lachlan starts to peel of his shirt, causing me to blush. He notices me staring at him and takes it off. And man, does he have a nice six pack. I start to slightly drool.

"Like what you see?" He asks, smirking.

I roll my eyes, despite the rising blush forming. "In your dreams." Then, I notice him scanning my own body.  "You like what you see?" I ask, suddenly gaining a new confidence. And I like it.

"Yes." He says, causing me to blush. "And I'm not afraid to admit it."

"Pervert! You have a girlfriend!" I yell, pointing to him and immediately rushing to the ocean, laughing as Lachlan comes after me. I go in to my waist and laugh as arms wrap around my waist and I am tackled and brought under water. I resurface, tossing all my hair over my shoulder and splash Lachlan.

"Oh, it's on!" He says, splashing me.

"Let the splash war commence!"

After a few hours of just playing around in the ocean, we both get out and sit down in our chairs under the umbrella. I watch as Lachlan decides to build a sandcastle, smiling. I laugh especially when a big wave crashes his almost complete castle.

"This is so frustrating!" Lachlan sighs in exasperation after making many repairs.

I giggle, deciding to get up and help him. "You have to do it like this." I say, kneeling next to him and grabbing the backs of his hands. My heart starts to beat but I ignore it. I show him how instead of building the actual fortress, he needs to build a wall, like Trump says, first (A/N: I said it.).

"That makes sense." Lachlan agrees as I let go of his hands and help build that wall. Once we get it to a decent height, a wave crashes, and he wall mostly survives. We repair it and decide to move on to the castle. After a few minutes of deep concentration, we finish. "It looks beautiful!" Lachlan exclaims.

"Yep." I agree, and he hugs me. He quickly runs back to our stuff and comes back with his phone. He snaps a picture of the castle, then of me with the castle, and then him, and then a selfie of the both of us and the castle. After making a random phone call, he puts his phone back and then returns to me.

"Cait, I have something fun in mind." Lachlan says.

"What?" I ask him.

"Let's pack up our things and then you'll see." He says, and I raise an eyebrow. "It'll be fun." He adds.

"Alright." I agree, walking with him to our stuff. We pack up, step in the outdoor showers, dry off, and get back in the car.

"Where are we going?" I ask him a few minutes into the car ride.

"You'll see." He says, not answering my question. I pout as we banter for a few more minutes. "And we are here." Lachlan finally says, parking the car outside a boat dock.

"We're going boating?" I ask, getting out of the car.

"Nope." Lachlan smiles, motioning for me to follow him. I catch up to him as we walk inside the building.

The receptionist looks at us. "Power?"

"Yes, ma'am." Lachlan says, and she hands him two sets of keys. In return, he slips a bill to her and grabs my hand, leading me out the back.

My eyes settle on two identical jet skis. "Woah." I incredulously say, putting a hand on one.

"Here." Lachlan says, tossing me a pair of keys, which I catch. We push both of them off the dock and hop on it as it hits the water. "Ready?" He asks, and I eagerly nod, smiling from head to toe. We both rev our engines, taking off. Lachlan speeds up ahead of me, but I take everything as the wind rushes past me, tossing my hair around.

"THIS IS SO COOL!" I yell as the jet ski sprays water. Lachlan stops a little bit ahead of me, waiting. I catch up to him. "This is amazing."

He smiles. "We've got these for a week."

"Really?" I reply, eyes wide.

"Yeah." He confirms.

"YES!" I yell, taking off again. I notice big waves a little way ahead; the ocean.

"Cait, wait!" Lachlan yells, and I stop. "Don't go out there. Not for your first time jet skiing. It's not safe."

"Awh." I pout.

"Maybe next time."

"Alright." I agree, knowing it's not safe yet. "It is really pretty though."

"Yeah. It's pretty cool." Lachlan agrees.

"I'll race you back." I say after a few minutes.

"It's on." He says, and we both turn. "On the count of three. Three, two, one!" He says, and we both take off. I start to pull ahead for a little bit, but then Lachlan zips past me. I sigh as he reaches the destination before me. He gets out as I reach the dock, getting out as well. We lower the dock and get the jet skis on, then get a trailer and load them up, attaching it to the back of the car.

"That was really fun, Lachlan. Thanks." I say as we both get in the car.

"The fun is just beginning." He answers, smiling at me.
