Nine

I slowly open my eyes, not wanting to get up. I feel really warm and have the best feeling in the world. It's like electric shocks are being sent up my body, and it feels amazing.

I quietly yawn and look at my surroundings, but stop when I notice where I am. My face blushes a million shades of red as I realize what happened (A/N: nope. No dirty thoughts. Yet.).

Lachlan and I must've stayed up so late last night that we both crashed on the couch. And there's not enough to room on this couch for two people... Meaning...

Lachlan's arm rests snuggly around my waist, his chest against my back. We are extremely close and it's killing me. Just the fact that we are so close yet so far away hurts.

I carefully turn my body towards him so that my face is against his chest and smile.

This... This feels so... Right.

Lachlan's grip tightens around my waist, pulling me closer to him if that's possible. He tilts his head towards the top of mine and starts mumbling a few incoherent words. I strain my ears, hoping to hear at least a word he says.

"Love... Right..." I-is he talking about me? My heart starts to beat faster as hope takes over me.

I don't want this to end. The way that he holds me so close to him, like he doesn't want me to leave, makes me go crazy. Is it possible to fall deeper in love with him?

But... Alex... I pout as the memories of my ex resurface. I glance down at my leg to see a faint trail of dried blood running down the side.

Shit.

"Lachlan! Lachlan!" I yell, frantically shaking him. He doesn't wake. I try wiggling out of his arms but to no avail. "Lachlan! Wake up!" I yell into his ear.

Immediately, he sits bolt upright, his arms gone from my waist. "What's wrong?" He asks, concerned.

"Nothing. I just need to go." I respond, standing up and walking to the stairs, the fresh blood falling out of my wound.

Little did Caitlin know that Lachlan saw it.

"Owowowowow." I complain, climbing the stairs and rushing to my room. A few tears slip down my face as I limp to my bed and pull out some spare bandages. "Owwww.." I moan again, biting my shirt as I uncover the wound. Blood pours out of it and I groan, knowing I need to clean it again.

The bathroom is so far awayyyyy...

"What the fuck, Caitlin?!?!" Lachlan says, horrified. I immediately stop what I am doing as I look at the many emotions on his handsome face. "Come on. We need to clean it up." He says, coming to me. He lifts me up, bridal style, and carries me to the bathroom. He sets me on the covered toilet seat and grabs a washcloth, wetting it, and proceeds to clean my cut. He works in silence as I bite my lip, nervous as to what he is going to say, watching him. After a few moment of silence, he speaks. "Tell me. What the fuck happened."

"I-I-I-I...." I trail off, unable to find the right words. Honestly, I'm ashamed of myself. He looks up at me, his shocking blue ones piercing my warm chocolate ones.

"You can tell me." He reassuringly says. And in that moment I knew. I knew right then and there that I could trust him with not only this, but with my life.

"My ex threw a vase at me. It was pretty deep so I had to go to the hospital, but I guess it's worse than that." I respond as Lachlan finishes cleaning the wound.

"Wow. No man should ever do that to his girl."  Lachlan says, his eyes reading pure venom and hatred. He honestly looks like he's ready to kill someone.

I blush. "Y-yeah." I whisper as I help him apply the fresh dressings.

Once we are both finished, Lachlan looks up at me. "You alright to stand?" He asks, and I nod.

"Yeah, thanks." I reply, grabbing onto the windowsill to help me stand up. I put pressure on my leg but immediately hiss in disapproval.

"What's wrong?" Lachlan asks.

"I'm fine. Just can't put that much weight on it right now, but I should be fine." I respond, limping past him and through the door. I walk to the staircase and try stepping down. Once again, my leg does not agree.

"Looks like you won't be leaving this floor, either." Lachlan adds, giving me a hand. I accept it and he helps me to my room.

I collapse on the bed and sigh. "I was such an idiot." I groan, putting my hands over my eyes. "What the fuck was I thinking?"

"I don't know; I'm not you." Lachlan says.

"Fuck you." I reply, chucking a pillow at him. He laughs and I smile, putting on a show on the TV. Lachlan climbs on the bed next to me and we both sit, side by side, watching the episode.

About halfway in my phone rings. Lachlan turns the TV off as I pick up the caller ID. It's Vikk.

"Hey, Caitlin." He says.

"Hiya Vikk! What's up?" I ask, putting him on speaker for Lachlan to hear.

"Nothing much, I mean except for the fact that Autumn is freaking out."

"What do you mean?" I ask, pushing for details.

"She's really upset that you left but the rest of the sidemen and I have been doing our best." Vikk responds.

"What? Really? Thank you." I reply.

"Yeah."

"Yo Vikk. If you ever see Cait's ex please kindly tell him to fuck himself when you see him." Lachlan calmly says, making me burst into laughter.

"Will do." Vikk amusedly responds. "Talk to you later."

"Bye, Vikk!" Lachlan and I both respond.
