After picking Shea up from school, I went home and made some ramen for us.
"How was school today?" I asked her.
"It was great! They announced that we are gonna have a semi formal dance at our school!" She squealed. Why is everything about boys today?
"That's great!" I exclaimed, but she could tell by my face I didn't really care.
"What's for dinner?" She asked. Ugh, crap. I can go for days without food, but Shea is a frikkin black hole.
"How does Chinese sound?" I asked. She groaned.
"No, we had that last night!" She whined.
"Pizza?" I suggested. Her eyes lit up.
"YAY!!! I mean uh, yeah, pizza sounds good!" She said, holding in a scream. I laughed. She really likes pizza, it's funny.
I got ready and grabbed my keys.
"Ok, do your homework, don't burn the complex down," I said.
"No promises!" She yelled, giggling as I walked out the door.
    I walked into the pizza place and went up to the counter.
"Hello, wait, Anika!" The person behind the counter greeted me. It was Jacob from the cafe!
"Oh, hey!" I said.
"What can I get for ya?" He asked.
"I'll have a medium meat lovers pizza," I told him.
"All for yourself?" He asked, surprised.
"No, my sister will eat most of it,"
I laughed.
"Is she visiting?"
"No, she lives with me," I sighed, not wanting to talk about it. He got the memo, and typed some numbers into the cash register.
"That will be 8.99," He said. I fumbled around my wallet and pulled out a 10. "Here's your change. Have a nice night!" He grinned.
"You too," I said, and hopped into the car with a smile on my face.
